Well, at midnight Donald Glover surprised dropping new music on donaldgloverpresents.com and we’re kind of obsessed. It’s a chaotic time in the world right now. But Glover lifts us up with 12 tracks on his website.

What do we know about Donald Glover’s surprise new music?

Literally nothing.

On the site is a four-panel black and white comic with a play button. It reads, “cover” above the first panel of the artwork, so people are speculating that it’s an album. Whether this is just a conspiracy theory or just good marketing, we’re hype to see what comes of this 12-song collection.

However, we recognize some of the songs on this alleged album. There’s ‘Feels Like Summer,’ which he released two years ago and also was also on the soundtrack of his movie with Rihanna, Guava Island. Glover has also performed ‘Warlords’ and ‘Algorthythm’ before.

The record features huge stars like Ariana Grande, SZA, and 21 Savage. From just listening to the album—we’ll just keep calling it that for now—in its entirety, you can’t deny it’s full of gospel-inspired, feel-good tracks that you just want to get up and dance to.

Since Glover released it under his given name instead of his Childish Gambino, moniker, we’re wondering if this is the direction he’ll be heading in for 2020. It’s definitely not a bad thing since the mysterious digital album is full of heat that we’re dying to stream it on Spotify. What we really want to know is when its full release is coming and what the artist himself has to say about it.
