PREMIERE: Dreamcasts ‘Pretend’ Is A Spacey Love Story

Dreamcasts has been steadily building his name and sound with slew of consistent releases. His last track, a collaboration with 2Tonedisco was by far his biggest work to date, clocking nearly 100k plays to date. Today we are proud to premiere what may be his best yet. ‘Pretend’ is a heartfelt, slow-burner that embodies the feeling of a transient love story. The intro is that first glance from across the room. You see them, and they see you. Or maybe they don’t see you. The whole moment is clouded with uncertainty, but there’s an underlying optimism. As the music builds you’re pulled into the same direction. You smile, they smile back. No words are needed. You’re entranced together and it’s pure fireworks. It’s a powerful moment scored by strong synths and a hypnotizing melody. But the feeling is fleeting. The magic calms and a crowd leaves you separated. You feel lost and reflective and wonder if you’ll ever see each other again. A swell of hopefulness builds as your eyes meet once more. Your serotonin spikes and that hypnotizing melody takes over once more. It feels as if the fun will never end, but then it does. After a quiet start to 2016, Dreamcasts is back with his first release of the year in ‘Gold’. The Wave Racer inspired track sees Trinidad James’ familiar vocals pitched and looped over an intensely upbeat backdrop that’s rich with low end. The vibe created is dreamlike, euphoric and fun. When I first heard this fresh DnF remix in Dreamcasts Guest Mix I was impressed. Instantly I wondered who’s remix it was and why I hadn’t heard it. The answer was simple; I hadn’t heard because it was an unreleased collab between Dreamcasts, CHLO, and Ase Manual. After some waiting, the official release is finally here. The rework turns up the sexy adding some spacey synths, club kicks and vocal chops that are on point. Subtle sounds such as the phone notification while Drake sings “hit me on the cell” showcase the attention detail and add to overall fun feel of the track. Stream below and grab the free download.
