Toronto-based producer Dropwizz has been a mainstay in the trap and bass scene for years. He is renowned for his hard-hitting drums, beastly bass, and hypnotic sound design. Putting those talents on full display comes the fittingly titled new single ‘Rave.’ The track marks his third release on FUXWITHIT following ‘Burn’ and ‘Gulag’.

‘Rave’ is a dark trap anthem built for festivals and basement clubs. Luring listeners in with a hypnotic melody, the vocal samples give the track a continuous progression that is amplified by the shadowy low end. Snappy trap drums inject a militant punch perfectly building into the blistering first drop. The brain-bending rave-ready lead drives the energy as the track mixes gritty textures with booming bass. Just when you think you have the track pinned down, Dropwizz adds in a majestic flute that gives the track a mystifying organic character. Far from a copy-and-paste second drop, the producer flips the track on its head somehow getting wonkier, harder, and darker. The addictive vocals tie it all together creating a truly timeless banger. Dropwizz continues to be one of the most consistent producers in the scene, and ‘Rave’ is just another striking example as to why.

Listeners will experience a sonic journey of dark melodics and heavy-hitting drums throughout this track. The intro lures you in with a mysterious atmosphere which leads into a whirlwind of driving basslines and intricate rhythms when the drop hits. When the storm calms you’re met with otherworldly flutes that shimmer into the second drop where you’re hit by a wave of euphoria and exhilaration as the tension rises with even heavier basslines and synthwork. – Dropwizz

Two relentless artists have finally combined forces for an absolute nuke of a tune. Shattering time and space as we know it with crisp drum designs, gritty bass leads, and an arrangement full of attitude. And it’s with great pleasure we premiere DROPWIZZ and Buzz Junior‘s collaboration, ‘UKting.’ A dangerous and uncontainable force of sound to make anyone’s speakers blow. Emanating organic raw energy powerful enough to rewrite life as we know it. Showcasing these artists’ greatest strengths and skills from beginning to end. Equally talented, this dynamic duo really showcases true teamwork and what it means to be on the same wavelength creatively. Honoring each other’s stories while writing a new chapter for each other.

I connected with Kavi a few years ago when we were on a compilation together and I was playing DROPWIZZ – ENCRYPT in my sets pretty regularly. We talked about maybe making something together so I sent some IDs and UKting was born. – Buzz Junior

As Andy aka Buzz Junior said this tune came to be after we both released tracks on a compilation. I’ve known of him for quite some time before but the comp really got us connected. He makes some stellar trap tunes and is a super chill and humble dude, really a pleasure to work with him. We wanted to showcase a blend of our sound with UKting, bouncy drums, gritty synths and thumping 808s! – DROPWIZZ

From a wavy and mysterious tone fluttering through your minds, to their signature styles intertwining beautifully throughout each section, your expectations will be met and then some. Their carefully crafted sound design and bounce-infused groove will only result in a huge smile on your face. Showcasing an evolution in both artist’s execution, and resulting in a classic trap wonderland of excitement. Easily making this a pure hit for many who adore electronic music. So make sure to show your support by streaming ‘UKting’ everywhere and grab the free download.

Today, the talented artist returns to our label with the menacing trap banger ‘Burn.’ The track serves as a follow-up to his heavy-hitting FUXWITHIT debut ‘Gulag’ off our Champions Of The Underground Vol. 1 compilation.

‘Burn’ lives up to its name bringing the heat and destroying anything in its path. Opening with an ominous and alluring melody, the track possesses a hypnotizing pull. The drops pack a powerful punch as mind-bending synths drift over crisp percussion and nasty bass. Stabs of brass underscore the intensity taking the track to new heights while paying homage to a classic electronic trap sound. Gritty sound design pushes ‘Burn’ forward, fanning the flames further. The driving vocal, “burn it down,” serves as a call to action for destroying the status quo and turns the track into a full-blown anthem. Get your fire extinguishers ready because this one is primed to set things ablaze.

Listeners will first be welcomed by a mantric melody with a hint of mystery, then progressing into an unexpected buildup which then evolves into a violent and energetic bass drop. I personally picture myself entering a dungeon where I will have to battle the final boss, doing whatever it takes to prevail victorious.

08.25.22. It’s finally here and that means our debut compilation Champions Of The Underground – Vol. 1 has officially arrived. The project showcases the best the underground has to offer while highlighting FUXWITHIT’s signature sound. Stacked from start to finish, the compilation sees Golden Child, Haan808, L*o*J, dope, and sebjin making their return to our label while showcasing a wide range of fresh talents including KUREI, PRYZMS, Dropwizz, Lenny x SL!DE, Galazy x BAGG, Gurf, Borny, Kazantzakis Hontis and Zodiaque. The large majority of the artists have been mainstays on our site for years and it’s an absolute honor to have every artist on board. True to the curation reputation we’ve built for years, the compilation spans a wide array of hip-hop-influenced electronic music from bass to future beats, DnB, and of course trap. We’ve got hard-hitting bangers, gritty heaters, chill vibes, and beautiful bops.

The project opens with Golden Child & Kazantzakis coming together for ‘Elevated.’ The swing, vocals, and synths pull you in while precise percussion and booming bass set the tone for what’s to come. It’s an addictive tune that you’ll have stuck on repeat. PRYZMS takes the energy to the next level with the heart-racing ‘Back2Tha’. The track practically defines what high-octane trap music sounds like in 2022. ‘Quartz’ slow things down with a spell-binding slapper that’s the pinnacle of less is more. OG trap fans are going to lose it for KUREI‘s latest.

Halifax duo dope come through with the aptly titled ‘Hypnotic’ which fuses entrancing vocals with brutish bass and a mean hip-hop swagger. Next up DROPWIZZ takes listeners to the battlefield with the fierce ‘Gulag,’ a bass-heavy heater inspired by your favourite first-person shooter. Take a break from battle and uncover Lenny and SL!DE‘S ‘Oasis,’ an exotic tribal trap smash. Looking for some bounce? You know BAGG and GALAZY have you covered with ‘Repeat.’ Building off this dynamic but with its own distinct flavour comes ‘Big Pizzo’ from Gurf. The track explores his recent future beat sound with a twist of the Partica “Trap2” swagger.

Providing the perfect shift into the more melodic back half of the compilation Haan808‘s ‘Main Phase’ brings the feels with laidback energy that still bumps. Norway’s Borny blesses us with a heavenly future beat banger that’s fittingly titled ‘Skywalker.’ The shimmering synths and uplifting bounce will have you moonwalking in the clouds. The project’s biggest surprise comes from none other than L*o*J. The duo has become renowned for their experimental and heavy approach to bass music. ‘Sunken’ is their softest and most stunning work to date. A beautiful bop that feels like summer love.

As the project nears its close we drift into more cinematic territory. sebjin‘s ‘Rights’ leverages his signature sound providing an immersive futuristic soundscape that’s yours to explore. Hontis & Zodiaque deliver a finale that is nothing short of epic. The slow-burning ‘Extinguish’ opens like a movie score, rich with emotion that deepens with each passing bar. With over two minutes of carefully crafted tension building, the release in the drop is monumental. The track packs a near-spiritual experience while maintaining a sense of ferocity.

Champions Of The Underground – Vol. 1 proves the underground is and always will be the most exciting space in music and art. The future is here. Stream Champions Of The Underground – Vol. 1 and be sure to grab the free download.

Putting a unique spin on Jay Z and Kanye West’s ‘Niggas In Paris’ with ‘Ball So Hard’ among his other spicy flips, he garnered major DJ support from a diverse spectrum of fellow producers over the course of the past 12 months. The past year also saw him be the 116th installment of our guest mix + interview series, which was received positively across the board. Now, he’s back at it again with a mind-bending piece that’s surely achieved peak fascination with ‘Mantra’.

Starting off with a soundscape that’s reminiscent of a wild west showdown happening at high noon, an air of tense excitement and intrigue of what’s happening next is all-encompassing. Ridiculous bassline work and sensational panning create an end product that’s a delight on the ears and energy for the soul. Then the 2nd drop hits and you lose all semblance of proper human etiquette as delicious drum and bass enter the field, contagious exhilaration permeating the airwaves. If you were still wondering what the ‘Mantra’ is, it’s that everyone is required to enjoy life with fresh feverish excitement that’s surely not going anyway anytime soon. Check out Dropwizz’s latest laboratory creation for yourself below and stream it on your favourite platform!

Do you want to dance? FUXWITHIT favorite Dropwizz provides a proper recipe to help listeners do just that in his latest ‘Footwork’. Released through BrednButter, a music label founded in 2016 by TrapCity and the Far East Movement, it is the perfect home for this track. Kavi Indatissa is one of Toronto’s brightest shining producers in the dimension of trap. Closing in on 30k SoundCloud followers, Dropwizz has grown significantly since being featured in our Focus Five segment. As a testament to his development, ‘Footwork’ facilitates remarkable structure.

‘Footwork’ begins with subtle vocals asking listeners, “Do you want to dance?”. Shifting through the subtle percussion pattern, we arrive at the drop where Indatissa bestows an exhilarating switch-back feel that conducts colossal drum play. The inclusion of trap horns peppered through the track gives it a nostalgic experience that breaks into the modern world. Going into the next drop, Dropwizz melds together his classic trap sound with dark bass music. ‘Footwork’ is an excellent exhibit of the signature sound of Dropwizz.

Toronto-based Dropwizz has been a FUXWITHIT favourite ever since he landed in our Focus Five segment back in 2018. Since then we’ve premiered a number of heaters from the talent and had the pleasure of him playing our six year anniversary party. He’s easily one of brightest stars in the Canadian trap and bass scene and release after release he’s proven why. For those unfamiliar, now is the perfect time to get acquainted as Dropwizz drops off a heavy new mix that’s almost exclusively his own productions, including some unreleased heat. We also caught up for an interview to discuss how he started producing, his other aliases, his upcoming EP and much more! Listen below.

What should we expect from the mix?

Overall I wanted to showcase my sound and what I have to offer in the realm of trap and bass music. The mix includes mostly my own work, with a few unreleased ID’s from myself and some fellow local talent.

I even gave up once and uninstalled FL LOL, but my perseverance kicked in. I gave it another go, and so many years later here I am.

Tell us a little bit about your background. How did you get into music? What made you decide you needed to start producing? Was there a specific moment?

I got into electronic music at the age of 12, it was largely thanks to my uncle who was a DJ in Australia. I would often go through his record collection and borrow a few that I liked. That is when I was first introduced to house music which immediately caught my ear. I knew I had to discover more of it but it was difficult at the time given my financial capacity and access to broadband internet. A few years passed and I was able to finally have access to a decent internet connection. I got back into house music and started discovering producers such as Afrojack, Hardwell, Deadmau5 and really got into the scene which expanded my taste.

I developed a strong drive to DJ so I went ahead and downloaded Virtual DJ to attempt mixing the music I had collected. I enjoyed my time learning the art of DJing but there came a point in time when I just felt like mixing was not cutting it for me anymore. I wanted to make my own music and express myself, so I pirated FL Studio ;). At first it was extremely frustrating learning the software and skills to produce. I even gave up once and uninstalled FL LOL, but my perseverance kicked in. I gave it another go, and so many years later here I am.

What’s your experience been like as an up-and-coming artist in Toronto? Has the community embraced you? Have you been able to get the opportunities you’d hoped for?

All in all it has not been too shabby, I have played gigs here and there and have met great local talent who I now call my friends. We all support each other and come together like a community. In terms of opportunities, I do not think they have been the greatest but I blame that on my poor networking skills. Sometimes it takes more than just the music. I hope to pursue my music career more and bring forth more opportunities in the near future for myself.

Your sound tends to drift between classic trap influence and darker experimental bass. Do you prefer one over the other?

I do not have a preference hence why I drift in between the two. I come from a hip-hop and rap musical upbringing, so I love maintaining my trap side while fusing it with electronic bass to create my own distinct sound.

You also produce house music under your Kavi alias. How has expanding the music you create impacted you as an artist? Have there been benefits from branching out?

I have had a few aliases in the past that are now discontinued projects, although my Kavi project is something dear to me as it lets me continue to produce my first love which is House music. I wanted to branch out so I can focus specifically on trap and bass under Dropwizz.

What inspired your Seven Deadly Sins series? Are you a religious person?

I am not a religious person per say, although I do take the good out of anything I come across. I believe the Seven Deadly Sins are something that should be embraced as a moral compass. But I also watched the anime, which is why I made the EP, HAHAHA.

You’ve remixed a lot of G Jones tracks. What makes you keep going back to rework his tracks? Can you talk a little bit about your admiration for him as an artist.

I have reworked quite a number of his tracks, mainly due to how much he has inspired me as an artist as well as a human being. His sound showed me that it’s cool to break barriers and experiment, but mostly his specific style is what really drew me into his music. This developed my fascination and led me to become the fan I am today.

I have a brand new EP releasing this year which I think will reflect my sound at this given time. It is something I’m quite proud of so I am stoked for everyone to hear it.

What do you have planned musically for the rest of the year?

I have a brand new EP releasing this year which I think will reflect my sound at this given time. It is something I’m quite proud of so I am stoked for everyone to hear it. I have included a couple of the tunes in the mix so enjoy! I also have a few more collaborations for the year and as always more remixes and flips.

2020 has been a dark year for a wide range of reasons. Have there been any bright spots for you?

The industry and the world as a whole took a huge blow this year, something that no one expected..or did they? Nevertheless, it is extremely unfortunate! To be honest there has not been anything worth mentioning from my end, but I do hope there will be in the near future.

One of Toronto’s finest trap and bass producers Dropwizz recently dropped off a remarkable rework fusing the classics of Jay-Z and Kanye West’s ‘Ni**a’s in Paris’ with the trap anthem ‘Ball So Hard’ by Hucci and Stooki Sound. With shifted percussion and Jay-Z’s lyrics getting things started, it swiftly encounters brain-rattling bass. In his version of ‘Ball So Hard’ Dropwizz is able to incorporate enough of the original while being accompanied by a heavier bass chaperone that makes its presence apparent.

It’s no easy task to take something such as the original ‘Ball So Hard’ that is so widely recognized and successfully remix it. However, the way Dropwizz conducted this flip, it couldn’t have came out any better. He is able to append enough of his own new elements without making it more complex than necessary. When you add in the acapella of Hov and Ye, it has a natural feel to it as if it were meant to be all along.

As someone we will always support, Dropwizz consistently excites us. Check out this track in its entirety below and grab the free download as well that can be found in the “more” section under the song in SoundCloud.

You know never know how a collaboration may come together. One day you might be scrolling through your Facebook feed, bored and see an artist asking if anyone wants to collab. You drop a quick message saying you’re interested and next thing you know you’re cooking up a menacing trap banger. This is exactly how ‘Get It’ came life. “I was just scrolling though my FaceBook feed and stumbled upon a work in progress that Tsu Nami posted asking if anyone wanted to collaborate on it, I left a comment on the post saying I am really keen to hop on it with her and she was super down, thus ‘Get It’ was came to life. We both wanted to work together to find out how our sounds can come together as one,” Dropwizz tells us.

“Tsu Nami pretty much provided the idea for the track with melodies and counter melodies and certain percussions here and there, I took this idea and added my bass heavy flair to the track with huge orchestral horns, gritty sliding 808’s, piercing effects and overall composition,” Dropwizz explains about how ‘Get It’ came together. Their efforts compliment each other perfectly. The menacing horns beef up the beat while the melody remains both eerie and inviting. A “pay attention to the drums” vocal sample drives the track forward and commands your focus. Heavy-hitting bass and tribal undertones round out ‘Get It’. Expect to be rinsing this on repeat. Stream below and grab it via Hybrid Trap.

Dropwizz and Savagez are known for their melodic trap collaborations. Today they are back with a newborn alliance that pairs Dropwizz with The Kngdom (Savagez new alias). With previous collaborations, such as their remix of ‘Swipe‘ and their remix of Martin Garrix’s ‘Now That I’ve Found You,‘ breaking millions of plays on YouTube it was only natural to create a brand new listening experience. With Dropwizz deriving a melody curated by The Kngdom, it was known that this track would be unparalleled to their previous work.

“As artists we strongly believe in what goes around comes around and the cycle of cause and affect, thus we decided to give this track the title ‘Karma,’” explains Dropwizz.

Searching for a new vibe, ‘Karma’ presents an uneasy mood that progresses into an eerie trap drop. Keeping a minimalistic arrangement, the noticeable bells and heavy drums supply the intro with a cinematic feature before the 808’s violently subdue your brain and toss you into the depths of wickedness. “This track is in a whole new lane compared to most of our previous releases together,” says Dropwizz, which is an understatement to the level of excellence in production on this track. The clean mix down provides for a very cohesive listening experience that paves a beginning, middle, and end due to the natural chemistry between these producers. “We decided to switch up the second drop and bring in some riddim influence to keep it interesting,” Dropwizz continues. This bestows a distinct perspective from your typical forward thinking trap songs. Having so much prior experience on projects together, ‘Karma’ truly showcases the progression of the work by this team and gives a slight insight to what we may be able to expect in the future.
