Duke & Jones have been killing the game for the past few years. Over this span, they’ve showcased their diverse talent and ability to move across genres and sounds. Their most recent release ‘Reflection’ was a vibey house groove while their previous release ‘Hold On’ was a pop-leaning future bass bop. While their music doesn’t miss, we feel they’re at their best when they’re exploring a grittier sound. Track’s like ‘Jurrassic’ and their Deadbeats EP Solace are what we are truly craving from the dynamic duo. Who better to get them back to the gritty than grime legend Flowdan and Deadbeats? Out today ‘Trenches’ is everything you’d hope for from such a massive collaboration.

From grime, to dnb and dubstep, Flowdan’s iconic deep voice and razor-sharp raps are never anything less than captivating. Taking center stage on ‘Trenches’ the veteran emcee welcomes listeners to the terrordome before unleashing raw bars. Duke & Jones provide a dark and exotic sound palette that evolves with each passing bar. When Flowdan’s first verse concludes ‘Trenches’ descends into a cavernous bass-driven drop. From there Flowdan commands the beat with the militant precision of a true OG. Dark, filthy and anthemic, ‘Trenches’ is a masterful collaboration that demands repeat spins.

Few artists have been as consistent and impressive as Duke & Jones in the past two years. From ‘Jurassic’ and their Eclipse EP, to their Paradox project and most recent release ‘Easy,’ the duo simply does not miss. Illustrating this once more comes their new EP Solace which is out today on Deadbeats.

Showcasing their heavier side, the project is a 4 track work that’s assured to impress even the most discerning bass fans. Kicking the project off comes ‘Detox’ a dark and heart-racing banger that seems fine tuned for murdering large-scale speaker systems. Filthy sound design, punching percussion and just enough space make this one an instant favourite. While ‘VHS’ begins with an almost angelic aura, powerful synths anchor the build and create an atmosphere of exploring a majestic cave system by flame light. When the drop hits your torch flickers out and the darkness becomes all encompassing. It’s half maddening and half exhilarating but you can’t help but press forward. ‘Recoil’ follows next with a gritty dubstep energy while still maintaining some of the Duke & Jones signature sauce. Rounding out the EP is the previously released ‘Surrender.’ Combining classic dance vocals with abusive drops and an underlying melodic groove makes it the perfect piece to wrap up the stellar project.

Duke & Jones can truly do it all. Stream Solace below and grab it here.

We all want to be alone sometimes, but what we did not know is how much we need Manchester duo Duke & Jones in our life today. With these rising producers quickly making a name for themselves in the bass scene, the UK duo have dropped hard-hitting singles and remixes catching the attention from producers such as Yellow Claw and Alison Wonderland. After recently dropping their euphoric and bass -infused single ‘Isolate,’ there is no stopping the duo as they fire up your playlists with a taste of slow tempo trap on ‘Waist Down.’ Warning: this track may get a little wonky.

Infecting listeners through their bass-driven production style, the anticipation builds as the clock begins to tick rapidly. Unexpectedly, drum claps and distortion take over as you are welcomed with vocals to prepare you for what is about to go down. Giving a little taste of Duke & Jones’ medicine, reverberating bass lines infused with white noise slowly wobble through the track. Warning you that the game has just started, Duke & Jones slap a filthy old instrumental along with chimes of sleigh bells to satisfy all those trap enthusiasts trying to break it down low on the dancefloor. With creativity at it’s finest for this bass duo, be on the lookout for more releases from Duke and Jones coming soon.

Parametric Records based out of Los Angeles has released their blazing freshman compilation album Pressure Points Vol. 1, a body of work practically overflowing with diversity and individuality. Packed to the brim with illustrious names throughout the bass music ecosystem like Duke & Jones, Tvboo, Ruvlo, Hairitage, RemK, Juelz and more, this is an eleven-track collection that is surely not to be trifled with.

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/701406400″ params=”color=#ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true&visual=true” width=”100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]

Kicking off at the fourth spot in the compilation is Duke & Jones with ‘Waist Down,’ a song that will make you jive from your tops of your hips to the tips of your toes. This is a deliciously trappy auditory layer cake that only gets better as it progresses. The first drop acclimates you to the pristine sound design and amazing flow, making it exceedingly difficult not to move on the spot. The latter drop is much thicker than the first, maintaining the energy while allowing for more full-bodied undulations. If you’re looking for a song to get a party popping real quick, throw this puppy on and watch the room go wild.

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/701403223″ params=”color=#ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true&visual=true” width=”100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]

Next, EDM funny guy and experimental dubstep producer, Tvboo, and swiftly rising production wizard Ruvlo, have dastardly devised a musical tool of mass destruction. ‘Break It Down’ does just that, obliterating everything in its path. With three separate unforgiving drops with maximum malicious intent, this track is a first-class headbanging marathon. The first drop melds both styles seamlessly, beginning with thick trap-heavy basslines that quickly devolve into Tvboo’s signature “make your mind feel like it’s in a blender” type sound, ping-ponging back and forth. This song feels like a true collaboration, with neither party dominating the overall sound, an immaculate harmony.

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/698024485″ params=”color=#ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true&visual=true” width=”100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]

Aaron LeClair also known as Hairitage comes in at the eighth spot in the collection with his piece ‘The Movement,’ a red bull for your nervous system. The pre-drop vocals of “down with this movement” get you primed and ready before you get smacked with a delightfully filthy trap beat. To call this song funky would be a grave understatement. A push for individuality and creativity is evident, with fun and weirdness in maximum demand.

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/698382730″ params=”color=#ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true&visual=true” width=”100%” height=”300″ iframe=”true” /]

RemK and his track ‘Flip It’ are my final highlight of Pressure Points, another immensely talented artist currently navigating the realms of heavy trap heaters. Putting the hybrid back in hybrid trap, he alternates between cascades of thick basslines and more traditional trap stylings, keeping your ears guessing. What they don’t have to guess, however, is whether or not each song he puts out slaps, because it’s always a yes.

Parametric Records hit a major homerun with Pressure Points Vol. 1, giving progressive bass artists a body of work to showcase their inordinate amounts of talent. Giving this entire collection a thorough rinse will assuredly leave each and every listener eagerly awaiting Vol. 2, a sure sign of big things to come. For now, make sure to check out all of Pressure Points Vol. 1 for yourself below!

With well over one hundred millions streams, Louis The Child’s Kids At Play EP certainly had a huge echo in the scene, pushing the career of the Chicago duo to a new level. On Spotify for example, the leading track of the project, ‘Better Not’ has nearly doubled the success of previous LTC classics like ‘It’s Strange’ or ‘Fire’.

Now, five months later, to keep the momentum, they’ve put together a remix pack with 9 brand new variations. They included material for every taste: House, Future Bass, Trap, weird stuff. Since we at FUXWITHIT are a bunch of weirdo bassheads, of course our favourites are included in the latest two.

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/586690707″ params=”color=%23000eff&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true” width=”100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]

Actually there’s a touch of romanticism in the story of msft.’s ‘Space Jam’ remix. It all started as one of his outstanding but unofficial remixes uploaded on SoundCloud. It wasn’t long before Interscope sensed the potential of the track and put it under contract. And they were damn right, we have to say. In its original version, ‘Space Jam’ is one of the most energetic tracks of the EP, but it keeps the gleeful and bright mood that characterizes Kids At Play. The Italian producer instead, after just teasing a similar atmosphere in the intro, unleashes a ferocious storm of filthy synths in the drop. It’s like acid techno squeezed in a bass format.

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/586690266″ params=”color=%23000eff&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true” width=”100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]

Unlike ‘Space Jam,’ which is completely instrumental, ‘Breaking News’ brings in emotions with RAYE’s vocals. This didn’t prevent Duke & Jones from going full guerrilla mode. The remix starts misleadingly like the original, just with a more trap base, but forty seconds after, you’re in another dimension. Horns, flutes, minimal drums; what once was a pop song, is now a first class trap dungeon banger.

You can stream the complete EP with other remixes by Party Pupils, Win&Woo, TAILS and more, below.

For their latest banger ‘Fuse,’ the duo connect with up-and-coming Seattle based production team THINKTVNK. Eerie undertones set the stage as drums build suspense. A sci-fi inspired breakdown feels like creeping through caves on an alien planet. For the final drop, things get even more hectic and pounding. ‘Fuse’ is yet another example that Duke & Jones are taking over, and a wake-up call to anyone who’s been sleeping on THINKTVNK.

Although they’ve been around for a few years, Manchester-based duo Duke & Jones have spearheaded their way into the bass scene over the last six months. Their unique minimalist approach to trap has garnered the attention of huge names such as Diplo, DJ Snake, and Zedd, and some of the most respected labels such as Circus Records and Deadbeats. Along with a couple of mind-bending singles, the last few months have seen Duke & Jones earn a full EP release of Circus Records as well as a star-studded remix EP of perhaps their most popular track to date, ‘Tusk’.

Last Friday, the talented duo have proven once again why they are making waves in the bass community with a new single title ‘Jurassic’. An energy-building introduction filled with euphoric sounds quickly leads listeners into a sub-bass driven drop that is making itself known as the Duke & Jones signature, where wicked drums and crisp synths also shine. Staying true to their niche sound that flawlessly combines heavy bass with trap beats, Duke & Jones have truly outdone themselves yet again with ‘Jurassic’.

UK duo Duke & Jones have been on a tear. With tracks like ‘Tusk’ and ‘Breathe’ becoming favourites among DJs and fans alike, their name has been steadily coming up in the discussion around the future of bass music. Unsurprisingly they landed themselves a spot in our Top 8 Bass Producers You Need To Know list last year. With the release of their stellar debut EP Eclipse they strengthen their position.

The four track effort brings something for every bass fan. Beginning with ‘Break You Down,’ the track combines pitched vocals with grande bass, emotional breaks and just the right amount bang to set the tone. ‘Numerals’ with Rohaan sees them exploring a darker realm. Tribal energy, war-tuned brass, and brutal vocal chops and bass make this a clear standout. Connecting with Aviella Winder on ‘Final Goodbye’ sees her syrupy sweet and intoxicating voice paired with some of the rawest sound design on the project. While I’d prefer the instrumental in all its rawness, the additional top line is sure to help bring in some new fans and prime it for festivals. Closing things out comes ‘Sticks’ with Don Cotti. His raw and ragged flow is matched with beat that’s nothing short of murderous.

Eclipse is a strong offering from one of the most exciting duos in bass music right now. Don’t miss this. Stream Eclipse below and grab the project via Circus records.
