Last year we named Black EL one of the top 8 rappers you need to be listening to. Since then he’s continued to prove why he deserves that spot with consistently stellar releases. His latest track ‘Getaway’ see EL connecting with frequent collaborator Durkin for a laid back anthem. Durkin’s hazy space-wave beat provides the perfect backdrop for El to deliver his smooth bars and play-that-back punches, “Black Bernie Sanders blow my money -MC Hammer/ uh, sound like the Future like that dude who rappin’ Panda”. Rounding this one out comes a verse from Manchester MC Black Josh. We’ve been saying this for a minute but Black EL is the future. Bump this and tell a friend.

Our favourite Boston based MC, Black EL, is back with two new tracks and you can bet they’re wavy. ‘Dolla$ In My…’ is a hustlers anthem that finds Black grinding on the low. Mixing clever wordplay, personal storytelling and his signature laid-back flow. The hook takes this one to the top with a relatable and smooth sound guaranteed to have you hitting replay. ‘Highlight Film’ see EL connecting with long time collaborator Durkin. FUXWITHITFRIDAYS – Week 61

It’s Friday and it’s finally starting to feel like Spring may be on its way. Fittingly we’ve got a feature that combines fresh bangers with some warm weather vibes. We kick things off with the hard hitting anthem ‘MFU’ from Flossrtadamus & Valentino Khan. Next up we have a unique banger from Whispa and some fire from TroyBoi. Concordia Music sets a summery vibe that carries through with a ‘Trap Queen’ flip from Jesse Slayter, a jet life remix from Viceroy and a smooth groove from Durkin. At the end, things get heavy once again with tunes from Luminox, Benakta and Pusher. Enjoy!

Black EL – Do Not Disturb feat. Michael Christmas [prod. By Durkin]

Black EL and Durkin’s Space Wave collabs are some of the freshest hip-hop tracks of the year. From ’95 Maxima’ to ‘Garcia Vega’ and ‘Golden Child’ every time they get together it’s a guaranteed wavey smash. Their latest track ‘Do Not Disturb’ features Michael Christmas and is exactly what we’ve come to expect. A laid back, smooth beat with chopped and screwed vocals kick things off. Black EL comes through with the first verse dropping lines about his days scooping girls when he was “19 wit a pipe dream.” Michael Christmas brings the second verse that is slightly self deprecating “got no bitch, get no hoes, got no grip” but also a bit humorous. The track demonstrates Black EL’s consistency and the chemistry shared between him and Durkin. We can’t wait to hear more tunes from these two, but for now we’ll just have to bump this on repeat.

Black EL – Golden Child [prod. By Durkin + Victor Radz]

A few weeks back we covered a track called ‘Garcia Vega’ from a relatively unknown artist Black EL. Since hearing the track I’ve been keeping a keen eye on the Boston based rapper, eagerly anticipating his next release. That day has come as Black EL once again connects with Durkin and Victor Radz for ‘Golden Child’. The production is on point, in line with his previous ‘Space Wave’ releases and the raps don’t miss. Dropping reflective and personal bars like “I need help and not attention, I need wealth and not a pension, backrubs ease the tension, I’m looking for ascension, through the end of this blunt, and my girl thought she was pregnant, at the end of this month” to really showcase his lyrical talent and smooth flow. As the first verse ends the beat intensifies to match the hook. The end result is a laid back wavy vibe with a hint of potency. Black El has only dropped 4 tracks to date but it seems like he can’t miss. Stream below and let us know if you’re feelin’ it.

We love featuring new artists and today we bring you a new rapper from Boston named Black EL. His latest track ‘Garcia Vega’ caught my attention as it’s produced by Durkin and Victor Radz. I’ve been a fan of Durkin since hearing his ‘U Don’t Have To Call Remix’ and any track he produces is worth a listen (and this is no different). Black EL rides the zoned “Space Wave” beat perfectly switching between raps and tuned vocals. His lyrics are on point with some clever wordplay. “Yeah, I made you wait, like wrestlers need to drop pounds/at a later date, it’s a great escape, so go ahead and just slide now.” & “Before I really thought about what a coffin is, Garcia Vega’s showed me what coughin’ is.” Needless to say Black EL is now on my radar and I’ll be sure to keep up with future releases.
