Since making his debut on bitbird way back in 2015, Duskus has become a scene favourite for heart-warming rhythms and groovy melodies. Continuously evolving his productions while simultaneously never letting go of his quintessential sound, Duskus has managed to stay at the top of the game through an unlikely pairing of innovation and familiarity. One can almost instantly recognize a Duskus creation when it comes on, yet the sheer diversity of his songs makes his entire discography a refreshing sonic journey.

Last week, the London-based artist unveiled a six-track project titled Healers Vol. 1, and this may be a hot take, but it is one of the most enjoyable listening experiences of the year. It’s not overly innovative or complicated, but the emotion that oozes through every single track warms the soul, just as the name of the project suggests. Once again elevating his sound to new heights, Duskus has crafted six originals that flow seamlessly from one to the next. Flaunting his classic, mellow house/garage leaning style, Healers Vol. 1 will get you moving with its bouncy synths, rhythmic percussion and ethereal textures. While the ensemble of tracks might not be tailored for a loud festival sound system, Duskus has curated lovely pieces that resonate like a warm blanket on a cold fall day.

Whether you’re in a good mood or a bad mood, Healers Vol. 1 is sure to brighten your day. Don’t miss it below.

Just over a month after the release of his infectious single ‘Hard Times,’ Duskus returns to bitbird today with another beautiful track titled ‘Holding U.’ A label favourite and arguably a global favourite in the future bass and electronic music scene, Duskus has been as consistent as one can be with their sound ever since releasing his debut project on the imprint back in 2015. Continuing to build on this heartwarming essence, the London-based artist has concocted a soul-stirring bop with his latest.

Instead of captivating with unnecessary energy, Duskus explores soft rhythms and sincere vocals to hook listeners into the magical aura of ‘Holding U.’ The single emulates yearning emotion, a theme rampant in Duskus’ productions, while the experimental soundscape reflects his artistic identity. The introduction opens with minimal yet velvety effects before percussion and vocals are added into the mix to gradually build upon the layers of emotion. Without ever cutting the flow, Duskus slowly augments the danceability with synths and textures, creating a garage beat that matches the intention of the track to a tee.

‘Holding U’ is quintessential Duskus. Don’t miss it below.

Known for delivering emotional ballads that blur the lines between house and future bass, Duskus has steadily grown into a sound that he can uniquely call his own, and that resonates with many. Opting to craft songs with meaning instead of forcing energy where it is not needed, the British artist consistently manages to blend styles to evoke raw, natural emotions in listeners. Returning to bitbird with his newest single titled ‘Hard Times,’ Duskus continues to do just that.

In his words, “When someone is sad in a movie, there is always some sort of negative music. I think ‘Hard Times’ is cool because the lyrics really embrace the fact that life has not been the best for people, however the actual track is really uplifting and happy. And in combination it allows you to appreciate every moment, even the bad ones…” We couldn’t have painted the contrast better ourselves. Despite having a title and lyrics presenting sadness and gloom, the beat is uplifting and oddly danceable. ‘Hard Times’ is quintessential Duskus, with soft, shimmering chords balancing the blunt reality of the lyrics. ‘Hard Times’ is about acceptance of difficult situations, and learning from them once they have passed, and Duskus beautifully conveys this message in his latest. Don’t miss it below.

With a diverse range of tempos that maunder between punchy danceability and a warm leisurely gait, the four-track Rising EP further delineates Duskus as a predominant artistic mind for his ability to cater to an assortment of emotions, as well as his fluent use of instrumental and vocal accompaniments. The title track, ‘Rising’, provides a vibrant vestibule to the project, which gently tapers in energy as the preceding tracks further a narrative surrounding the uncertainty of life and reckoning with testing decisions, before rounding off the EP with an air of optimism in the collaborative instrumental ‘Infinity’ alongside Subtact.

Duskus has remained an important artist behind the bitbird label ever since its inception. Never one to let his sound grow stale, the London-based producer has played an important role in bringing the label to the forefront of innovation, with countless releases under his belt, both individual and with fellow label-mates, that have continuously pushed the boundaries of easy-listening electronic music. Coming off a collaboration with Taska Black, Duskus now returns to the esteemed imprint to deliver the first single from his upcoming EP, ‘Rising.’

The lighthearted signature combining house with future bass that Duskus has mastered over the years is still very present throughout ‘Rising,’ but there is an innate sense of evolution and growth in his sound that shines even brighter. “The inspiration behind this single for me was to try and create something unique, but still listenable. Something that people can enjoy and understand even though it’s something new. When working on this EP, a lot of my focus was more into sound design which is something new to me. I realized that the sound of something can actually evoke emotion, and I wanted to focus as much attention on this as I could,” Duskus shares about his new direction. ‘Rising’ is the perfect pairing of angelic, catchy vocals and fresh future bounce, aptly suited for the coming summer. Don’t miss it below.

There is no denying that bitbird boasts one of the most impressive rosters that constantly put out innovative, refreshing and emotional music. That is a well known fact. However, sparks always shine brighter when their talented core artists come together on a track. Think of DROELOE and San Holo’s ‘Lines of the Broken,’ DROELOE and Taska Black’s ‘Running Away,’ or San Holo and Duskus’ ‘forever free.’ Each artist has a unique, ingenious style, but the beauty is unmatched when paired together.

Now, another exceptional collaboration is here to grace our ears, namely ‘Be There One More Time’ from Taska Black and Duskus. Both known for keeping future bass fun in their own respective ways, the two artists coming together has been a long time coming. Although made over quite a distance, Taska Black and Duskus synced on the nostalgic feeling of the song immediately. ‘Be There One More Time’ is about cherishing these beautiful memories you have and allowing yourself to relive them and feel the same joy as you did back then. Combining that with the sounds you love from both producers, ‘Be There One More Time’ is sure to put a massive smile on your face upon pressing play.

There is no better pairing than Taska Black’s raw musical emotion and Duskus’ lighthearted signature bounce. Don’t miss their latest collaboration below.

In the five-track endeavour, Duskus reminds us all why he is among the most innovative producers in the game, blurring the lines between cutesy pop and emotionally-driven electronic music.

The lead track titled ‘Be there for you’ is the perfect embodiment of the constant novelty in Duskus’ sound, portraying his usual lighthearted bounce with endearing vocal layers. ‘I can change your mind’ continues along this cheerful, jaunty note, before ‘I feel alive’ slows things down a notch with drawn out notes inspiring a true reflective aura. ‘Can’t stand the feeling’ returns to the uplifting vibe with amusing chord progressions driving the track forward and plushy synths sure to put a smile on your face. Capped off with ‘I remember you,’ the In Retrospect EP closes off just as delightfully as it started.

In five tracks that are sure to captivate your attention from start to finish, Duskus has created a masterpiece. Don’t miss the In Retrospect EP below.

Although Duskus‘ move to Odesza’s Foreign Family Collective came as a surprise to many, fans can rest easy knowing that the artist hasn’t changed his artistic direction. In fact, he has only continued to push his musical boundaries in the last few months working hard on his upcoming In Retrospect EP. The first single that Duskus is sharing with the masses from the project is ‘I can change your mind,’ a track that was first teased almost a year ago in his Too Future mix.

‘I can change your mind’ is a slow burning, twisting jam that pulls in and out of consciousness, almost in a hypnotizing way that echoes the title. Bridging the gap between British and American electronic music, Duskus blends lo-fi house and future beats interspersed with his signature vocal chops in a truly unique way that continues to push the boundaries of the scene. Relaxing yet energizing, ‘I can change your mind’ is quintessential Duskus with added bounce and ethereality that is sure to put a smile on your face. Check it out below.

With the third installment of bitbird‘s esteemed Gouldian Finch compilation on the horizon, fans are eagerly awaiting what the powerhouse label has in store. Boasting a roster of seasoned veterans and promising up-and-comers, the label has established itself as a staple in the industry, consistently delivering top quality releases while simultaneously pushing the boundaries of electronic music. To keep fans at ease until the big April release date, two familiar faces have recently shared their newest projects with the world. Just a month ago, DROELOE dropped their serene, meaningful ‘Only Be Me‘. Now, Duskus is offering his spin on the iconic track, doing it justice with his signature sound.

The London-based producer has always had a knack for making tracks that are both luscious and danceable. Last year saw the talented artist carve his own path in the scene through a unique style that will warm your heart. With his remix of ‘Only Be Me,’ Duskus furthers this distinct sound. Only making use of the original vocals, Duskus layers these above a cutesy melody to establish a tranquil soundscape. Utilizing punchy percussion to contrast the peaceful atmosphere, the skilled artist builds the track into a crescendo of elation that will evoke a plethora of emotions. This remix is a perfect blend of delight and bounce.

With his rendition of ‘Only Be Me’, Duskus continues to push his style to new heights. Don’t miss it below.
