One of the most talented artists I know. The execution and attention to detail makes this one so much fun to listen to, impossible not to bounce around when the drop comes in. Perfect for keeping the crowd moving when the party is just getting started or late at night when things are winding down.

JOYRYDE – IM GONE

This tune is just ridiculous – a collage of styles wrapped together in one banger. JOYRYDE is unstoppable and I can’t wait to hear what else he’s been working on.

Getter – Represent

Another tune that just has undeniable bounce. This one continues to grow on me every time I listen to it, something so dirty about the drums that makes the whole thing hit hard. Boom bap combined with bass music at its finest.

Fergie – London Bridge

A staple in every Effin set. Whenever I have this tune queued up you can see me on stage with the biggest shit eating grin on my face. Such a fun song, and it just happens to mix right into drum and bass. A party starter from The Duchess herself.

Those signature introductory sounds continue in ‘Spin Cycle’ as Effin explores a heavier tone with each beat thumping harder as the track progresses. Closing out the Flashback EP is ‘Rewind,’ a track that truly lives up to its name and to the project’s title. The plucky chords in the initial section give listeners a sense of nostalgia, before Effin leads the track into an upbeat, electro-inspired section that is equally danceable as it is grungy.

Despite this divide, the combination of fills and effects from each artist in the other’s dominating section provides a welcome sense of harmony, making ‘Chunky’ a dubstep heater that lives up to its meaty name. Through Ultra Music, NGHTMRE just gifted us with three more remixes of ‘Redlight,’ featuring the wildly innovative bass producer Effin, the ingenious London bass house producer Holy Goof, and one dubstep’s biggest trendsetters Crankdat. 

Effin is up first with his nasty iteration of ‘Redlight’ where he reminds us why he is truly one of the best acts coming out of LA. To start the track off, Effin reinvents A$AP Ferg’s verse, trading the 808 heavy trap beat, for high pitch industrial synths that carries the verse throughout the first third of the track. Here we’re met by top-notch sound design along with an impeccable mix-down which truly turns claps into slaps.

Next up, Holy Goof turns up the tempo with his masterful bass house take on ‘Redlight’. Right from the get go we are introduced to the pounding baseline which carries the track throughout. As we approach the one minute mark Holy Goof injects new energy into the track when the main melody takes center stage, being played by grimy synths.

Last but most definitely not least, we have Crankdats powerful dubstep rework of ‘Redlight’. The intro leads with a minimal trap beat which carries the verse, during which Crankdat teases us with his insane mechanical sounding synths. As we approach the end of this section, we are thrusted into a true sound factory, filled with menacing basslines and truly original sound design.
