In recent years we’ve been witness to the rise of one of the most recognizable names across all of Bass music, and that title goes to L.A.’s own, Eliminate. After his single ‘Weeble Wobble’ dominated festivals last year, his most recent ‘Pony’ remix has seen a surge in popularity for all the right reasons. Eliminate has constantly shown us that he can apply his staple sound across multiple genres giving us fresh products while still maintaining consistency throughout the project. This time he joins the ranks of RL Grime’s Sable Valley to drop his next festival-ready weapon ‘Mula.’

We begin by being introduced to the vocals that carry the energy throughout the track, after which we’re thrown into a high-energy speed house drop carried by a lead synth that occupies the hi-ends beautifully. Directly following a quick build-up we land directly into trap city with the lead synth now giving us that classic ascending trap melody while periodically skipping over intervals to create a spastic feel to this FUX approved trap switch-up. Stream ‘Mula’ down below and keep up with Eliminate and the rest of Sable Valley right here at FUXWITHIT.

Through six eclectic tracks, the LA-based producer reminded everyone of his innate ability to make anyone dance. Now, these tracks have received a remix treatment from a wide array of house music greats, with each lending their own style to the Valentino Khan originals.

CONFESSION label-head Tchami first graced our ears a couple of weeks back with his upbeat, groovy take on ‘JustYourSoul,’ before genre-defiant Eliminate flexed a fast-paced bass house twist to the tech-leaning ‘Pony.’ The collection of remixes is rounded out by Drezo, Born Dirty, Schade and Ibranovski – all names that are sure to make any house-lover jump with joy. With the former adding his signature dark touch to ‘Flip The Switch’ to the latter taking ‘Better’ to the depths of the jungle, the ensemble of remixes are as well-rounded as house music gets.

There is a new EP just out through Wakaan. Liquid Stranger’s bass label is taking ‘Babatunde’ from PEEKABOO and G-Rex and giving it six fresh versions. The original was released in 2018 and has almost half a million streams to its name – we were feeling it.

Each remake on this EP lives up to expectation. PEEKABOO and G-Rex make a triumphant return with a VIP version of the mix, and it builds suspense from the offset before hitting you with the drops. Dirt Monkey utilises rhythmical depth on his version, whilst there is an epic energy to Eliminate’s which chops and changes rapidly.

Both TYNAN and LUZCID contribute the next couple of flips, with the former’s filling us with joy thanks to its deep, textured instrumentals. The up and coming duo um.. are given the task of rounding off the Babatunde EP, and do so with wonky beats and meandering shards of melody.

G-Rex says of this release: “For this remix EP, we went out and handpicked not only some amazing artists, but our great friends as well to remix our track. Each remix comes with their own unique style that makes the entire package cohesive and interesting.”

A formidable hunting territory for the production-oriented, Quality Goods Records have established themselves as both the first and final frontier for the modern wave of electronic trap music. Under the careful guidance of production icon UZ, the label has matured at an almost alarming rate since its founding in 2016, now providing homage and guidance to an extensive roster of veteran artists such as Hydraulix, Oski, Champagne Drip and sfam.

With exciting new additions around nearly every corner, 2018 may have been the most remarkable year for QGR to date. Bolstering the ranks with remarkable talent such as Krischvn, thook and Rome in Silver, the label capped off a diverse year of releases with the annual label compilation, which revealed yet another noteworthy batch of exciting young names to watch in the coming year.

Without breaking stride for an instant, Quality Goods Records starts the new year off on the right foot with the release of the highly-anticipated remix compilation from UZ’s coveted Rebirth, which debuted last spring. Teeming with creativity and innovation, the release compiles contributions from the label’s veteran constituents as well as a few new faces, each revealing a novel exploration from the direction of the original tune.

Kick up your feet, sit back, and enjoy as Quality Goods Records demonstrates yet again why they are the point of origin for all things trap.

Leading the pack is Rome in Silver with his take on the minimalistic track ‘Mad’. Orchestral chants are layered above an energetic revamp of the original track, before Rome in Silver jumps into the first drop in full swing with a barrage of wonky basses and tribal percussion. Don’t be fooled by the heaviness of the first half though, as the versatile producer adds lustrous beauty to the bass in the latter half of the remix.

Exploiting the tantalizing vocals from the original rendition of ‘Rebirth’ to his advantage, Los Angeles based Eliminate contrasts the floral, emotional melody of the track with a gripping, low-frequency drop. Sonic disparity gives the remix a raw, authentic appeal, while a deliberate emphasis on production smooths out the rough edges of the track for a silky smooth listening experience.

We know, you’ve heard this one already. It’s simply too good not to share twice, though. Silva’s dainty sounds have captivated the attention of many as of late, and his contribution to this remix pack is a perfect embodiment as to why. The Australian producer’s take on ‘Leave It’ will incept vivid imagery of nature with its whistling leads and ethereal soundscapes, allowing listeners to relax between bass heavy productions.

First making his debut appearance in the recently released 4th installment of the annual QGR compilation, Baajewala makes his return with a captivating remix of ‘Futon’. Enlisting fluid production enhancements, absorbing bass patterns and enriched synth medleys the latest QGR addition weaves an impassioned touch into a remarkable original.

Krischvn is another promising up-and-comer who is quickly becoming a QGR favourite. Tackling ‘Flash,’ Krischvn makes himself heard from the get-go, accentuating Bok Nero’s vocals with a raspy, metallic synth and a wretched sub bass. An elongated build-up leads you into an assertive showing of Krischvn’s pristine production talents, where contorted synths and glitchy samples shine.

In the vocal-rich ‘Cray’, Hydraulix keeps the original essence of the track alive in the introduction. After a short verse, the Sydney-based producer leads listeners into mayhem, adding a fat layer of bass to tickle all of your senses. The bombardment of resonating bass is enough to turn the vocal-driven original into a set-ready heater.

Capping off the wildly entertaining remix pack is Jon Casey with his take on the serene ‘Castle’. The talented South African takes Nevve’s calm vocals to build into a fury of trap insanity. In a real contrast from the original, Jon Casey uses penetrating drums and crushing bass to transport you to the depths of the Amazon, flexing his musical prowess once again.

Words by A. Samuel Lewis and Steph Contant.

Boasting a roster of seasoned veterans like Virtual Riot, Barely Alive and Modestep, as well as hot trendsetters such as Oliverse and Eliminate, Disciple Records have quickly established themselves among the best bass labels. With a quality to quantity ratio that is second to none, their artists continue to push boundaries with each and every single, remix and album.

Six months ago, the label teamed up with esteemed streamer Jericho to deliver a gaming-inspired compilation featuring both new and old releases from Disciple’s talented artists. Soon after, they unveiled the fourth installment of their label compilation titled Alliance, which featured sixteen wicked originals from every one of their signees, not to mention an astounding mega-collaboration of 13 artists coming together on a single track. One would think that such an outpour of new music would have to slow down at some point, but Disciple and their heavier imprint Round Table have shown no signs of slowing down. Keeping the compilation theme alive, Disciple has now joined forces with popular YouTuber Mini Ladd to unleash fifteen more action-packed tracks from old and new label favorites.

While impossible to touch on every track, we thought we’d highlight a few of our favorites below!

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/545091048″ params=”color=#ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true” width=”100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]

Oliverse has been killing it for a few years now, but business has only started booming for the UK-based producer in the last year or so. An infectious remix for Tchami’s ‘After Life’ and Modestep’s ‘Higher’ put him on the map for many dubstep enthusiasts, and signing to Disciple earlier this year solidified his breakout year. In a riddim-saturated dubstep scene, Oliverse’s melodic approach to the genre is both nostalgic yet forward-thinking, offering heavy-hitting bass with no absence of musicality. Consistently blurring lines between music to dance to and music to headbang to, Oliverse’s contribution to the Mini Ladd compilation titled ‘Somethin Good’ is further proof that melodies do belong in dubstep, and that Oliverse is among the best at doing so. Powerful female vocals are backed by gritty synths and punchy percussion to drive home his signature sound. Keeping you entertained for a full four and a half minutes, ‘Something Good’ definitely lives up to its name.

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/543097857″ params=”color=#ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true” width=”100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]

Virtual Riot needs no introduction. With two EPs and countless singles and remixes under his belt this year alone, the German-born, LA-based producer is on another level when it comes to productivity and consistency of releases. Swaying between dubstep, future bass, and everything in between with ease, Virtual Riot is easily one of the best producers in the game. His 2017 Throwback EP brought us back to his complextro roots, and his contribution to the latest compilation does so once again. Flexing impeccable sound design, ‘How Do You Turn This On’ is one of those feel-good electro tracks that brings bass fans back to their roots. The project file for this track must be insanely CPU-heavy, with hundreds of meticulously arranged sounds making themselves heard throughout the insanely catchy song. ‘How Do You Turn This On’ is the perfect anthem for early dubstep lovers.

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/544118589″ params=”color=#ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true” width=”100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]

Two rising Disciple stars at the forefront of the experimental bass scene, Eliminate & PIERCE team up with vocalist PLTO for an unexpected clash of emotion and riveting production in ‘With Me’. An emotional vocal intro paints a delicate setting for the track, backed in full force by a commanding piano melody and taut percussion. As the cadence of the track hastens, a warped out vocal takes the tune into a darker direction, unearthing a siege of compact snare drums and precise synth jabs.

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/547436829″ params=”color=#ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true” width=”100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]

Regarded as one of the select few dubstep artists to have stood the test of time, Barely Alive pays a small homage to the predecessors of dubstep and the earlier, more emotional and less bass-ridden days. A delicate melody sets the stage, before a more synth-involved cadence of the track kicks into motion, demonstrating yet again the duo’s unmatched talent to blend raw emotion into their energetic buildups. A critical sample booms in the backdrop, expressing its disdain with lack of emphasis, unleashing the true identity of ‘You Suck’ and launching into a funky breakdown which contrasts low, grumbling bass hits and fiery synthesizer patterns.

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/437355027″ params=”color=#ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true” width=”100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]

Each experts in their respective crafts, PhaseOne has established dominance in combining aggressive drum patterns and exquisitely timed breaks in his tear-out style of dubstep, while YOOKiE concoct some of the most spine-tingling walls of subs that your body has ever experienced. A collaboration from the two would demand a setting of chaos, and thus fittingly titled ‘State of Emergency’ the tune packs an immeasurable capacity of bass, overwhelming surges of subs and daunting production accuracy.

Failing to miss a beat the entire year, Disciple is gaining momentum by the minute. With the initial patchwork compilation Jericho, the teamed expressed an interest in maintaining a firm foothold in the realm of dubstep and riddim, allowing each artist within the roster to formulate their own contribution to the project. The more recent joint effort with Mini Ladd affirms the previous inclination, while also unveiling an inherent desire to preserve the foundation of bass music, paying tribute to the earlier days of dubstep with more visible attention to harmony, melodies, and vocals. Needless to say, this entire compilation makes a resounding splash and is surely a tell-tale sign for what the future holds for Disciple and its constituents.

Released on Never Say Die, the intro blends an ominous energy with the sounds of swords clashing, tribal elements and some high energy vocal chops. The first drop is that raw trap shit with a healthy helping of wonk. The track continues to evolve from there as the producers add and remove layers and switch the speed. The second half doubles down on the intensity for a barrage of bass paired with some brutal chops. This one definitely lives up to the title.
