‘Hurting’ was written during a time that I had a rough time with my significant other. We were going through a lot of rough patches that almost seemed like we didn’t know what the outcome was. Through long discussions, and good laughs we made it work out in the end. Obviously, all that glitters isn’t gold, but there is something good from it when you really fight for it.

 

The dark lyrics with the upbeat tempo of the song really speaks for that. This EP really compliments the “feel good, and the bad.” As well as portrays the ‘signature’ sound that I’m going for here in the future. I’m just very thankful y’all are here for the ride

2021 was an amazing year for Eyezic. From releases on coveted labels including Subsidia, Quality Goods Records, and Jadu Dala, he truly tapped into new territories within his creative being. He pulled out outstanding characteristics and added even more flavor to his newest works while staying true to his overall goals and missions. Eyezic’s made quite a memorable name for himself over the years, and now he’s back and better than ever. Kicking off 2022 with a strong sense of adaptability and persistence and the fact this is first time working with the bitbird team is nothing but exciting and heart-warming.

Tails has been one of my favorite artists for quite some time, so my goal for this remix was to go outside the box from what I’ve normally done with music. I wanted to build tension within the song, but go “off-grid” with a very fun & tasteful sound in the drop that I’ve experimented with. This was by far my most favorite remix/song I’ve ever worked on & it’s truly an honor to have been a part of this remix pack!

Eyezic’s ‘golden youth’ remix takes on the original with pizazz and honor. He integrates his own abilities while surprising us with a new side to his sound and experimenting with great knowledge and confidence. From a theatrical intro with a hypnotic space of emotion and wonder to a bounce filled world of uplifting melodies and pounding drums, this has everything you could ever imagine and more. Doing the original pure justice in every sense. The way he molds this arrangement to tell a true story through fierce talent is breathtaking.

And just when you think it’s over, he flies back in for round 2. This time, he introduces the chorus with chopped-up future bass chords, mixed with a satisfying pluck. Tying around your aura in a lovable and nurturing knot. Creating smiles of passion on the listeners face. I imagine it’s super difficult to bring TWENTY-THREE artists together to finish a track. They got Dabow, capshun, So Sus, and episcool, to name a few. Even label heads Gurf and Runnit make an appearance. Just run through the list yourself and see the undeniable talent. Dabow himself shares on Twitter, “partica got us all together to create the biggest collab I’ve been part of. and it bangs super hard. friday.” Partica really did that. And the, “it’s Patricia,” vocal sample towards the end was really playful and fun.

Onto my personal critique—and let’s preface this by me admitting that collaborations rarely do it for me, but I tried to keep my own bias aside and listen to ‘FRANKENSTEIN’ for what it is—and it’s a good track. However, while there are some great trap builds, for a song marketed as ‘trap 2’, its drops and most memorable moments are on the dubstep and experimental bass realm. The song that has some of the best trap producers right now, so that part was a bit disappointing for me. Additionally, for a Halloween track, the spooky factor could have been turned up a notch. The intro was haunting, but once it hit the 30-second mark, I forgot it was a Halloween track until the “Frankenstein” sample came in.

I also get that the real Frankenstein is having so many different producers bring a different part in to create a mammoth of a track, though. And overall, it’s cohesive and a great tune.
