PURGE Drop Double Dose Of Bass With ‘Gangsta’ and ‘Down Low’

PURGE are relentless. The mysterious DJ duo have been killing the bass scene all year and today they’re back with 2 fresh heaters. Clicking up with Felmax comes ‘Gangsta,’ a hard-hitter with some thugged-out vocal samples. It’s just what you’d expect from the collab: booming bass, gritty sound design and some serious sauce. ‘Down Low’ is another collab, this time with Toyzz. It’s even uglier and more sinister than ‘Gangsta.’ The vocals are bent and chopped throughout but it’s the final drop where this track peaks. The abusive chops and dizzying design will leave your head spun. Stream both below.

Daruma Returns With Vol. 007

The Daruma collective has been putting out some of the best compilations in electronic music. Their latest release, Vol. 007 keeps the trend going. 15 tracks deep, the collection carries a forward-thinking, bass heavy sound. The project features new music from Andrew Luce, MYRNE, Felmax, Havok Roth, graves, sober rob, Audiobot and more. Early standouts include the deadly ‘####,’ the moving ‘All Eyes On Her,’ the aptly titled ‘Yeezy’ and ‘Rule The World’. UZ Unleashes Massive Remix EP With QUIX, lux.impala, ATLiens & More

Last year UZ announced the retirement of his legendary Trap Shit series. While it signified the end of an era, it also opened the door for a new one. He followed up the announcement with the release of Frontier, an EP which showcased the mysterious producer’s signature sound while expanding the range and direction of his music. It looks like he decided it was time to resurrect the project with a fresh batch of remixes. The project kicks off with a massive rework of ‘Gladiator’ courtesy of Felmax. lux.impala and Subsurge follow things up with two very different takes on ‘Bubbles’. lux.impala brings an energetic effort that’s wonky as it is bouncy. Subsurge takes a different approach, melding the track into a high speed space club assault that’s sure to impress. QUIX, who’s become known for his hard-hitting, dark sound, showcases his range with a slow-burning rework of ‘Frontier’ that’s highlighted by a stunning melody. Fans of his heavy works needn’t worry as he still manages to turn things up at the midpoint. Closing things out comes two remixes of ‘Chainsaw’. The nightmarish anthem is flipped on its head with ATLiens signature vocal chops and dragged deeper into the darkness with a murderous dubstep flip by LUMBERJVCK.
