For years Floret Loret, has tapped into many different mediums of tones and rhythms. Within his works, there’s always something new and exciting to look forward to. Becoming inspired by his eclectic and mature productions and writings through sound. The amount of detail throughout is carefully aligned like stars in the sky. Shining brighter than the sun. Never disappointing for a second and always showcasing his evolution as a true artist in this realm, with his debut album, Tales of The Terrarium, he’s sharing his most unique and powerful work to date with an extra flare of upgraded techniques and a stellar new vision to engulf yourself in.

This album encapsulates not only his years of hard work but what this journey means to him as a whole. Honoring one of the main points of his productions. Pushing himself to keep going and never stopping. After a deep and everlasting conversation with his dad through a scary and down time in his life, he bounced back harder than ever. Hitting a reset button to rewrite his ongoing process and ending up creating this beautiful work of art. Fabricating a character by the name of Napo, he uses this new hero figure to represent a major aspect of the project. Taking listeners along Napo’s journey as he explores this brand-new world. Conquering challenges along the way while gaining new knowledge to take with him.

If you’ve followed the artist’s work for some time now, then you’re in for a bigger treat than you can ever imagine. Each track is carefully placed in its own chapter. Never feeling rushed or out of place due to its captivating story and brightening nature. The classic Floret Loret we all know while introducing us to a whole new side. Crisp, beefy drums, cinematic atmospheres, and overall sound design to fill your spirits, it’s a ride you’ll never ever want to leave. From a groove-infused wonderland of peace in ‘Druids Magic,’ to a dark and insidious realm of mystery throughout ‘Mandragoras,’ there are surprises lurking in every corner of the spectrum, waiting to unfold. Easily making this album constantly impress with each listen. A masterpiece to say the least.

So make sure to show your utmost support by streaming Tales of The Terrarium everywhere via Gravitas Music!

His pieces of discovery and rebirth have taken the industry by storm throughout the years. His impressive display of craftsmanship within the spectrum has led him down a spiraling path of success, creating a whole new realm from his own imagination and creativity. Separating his vision from the rest. And with his newest piece, ‘Solarbeam,’ he’s showcasing pure evolution for his sound and project. The track immediately draws listeners in with its captivating nature, comforting tones, and electrifying energy. Taking control of your soul and guiding you to a complete safe haven.

Few artists have seen more consistent and impressive growth over the past few years than Floret Loret. When we connected with the budding producer in 2019, he was gearing up to self-release his debut EP Tangled Roots. The masterful project served as a springboard, attracting attention from fans and the industry alike. Over the course of the past three years, he’s emerged from relative obscurity to becoming one of bass music’s brightest stars. He’s collaborated with Zeds Dead, released with notable labels like Deadbeats, Mau5trap, Bassrush, and Quality Goods Records, and played top-tier festivals like EDC, Okeechobee, and Infrasound Music Festival. All the while he’s been carefully creating a signature sound that mixes experimental and organic with powerful emotion and mystique. With so much happening, it’s overdue that we bring Floret Loret back for a fresh Guest Mix + Interview.

The mix is a wild ride through experimental bass, halftime, dubstep, DnB, and more. The interview explores what’s next, thematic tie-ins of his work, key milestones, how turning 30 changed his perspective, and much more. Check out both below.

Tell us about the mix. Where are you taking listeners on this one?

Everywhere haha. I am starting off with the first tune I released this year and going through a bunch of songs ranging from Dubstep, Chill stuff, DnB, halftime; genres that I’ve been making in the last year. Tracklists feature tunes by my favorite artists, my friends and some new unreleased songs that’ll be coming out later this year that weren’t featured in the Botanical Studies Vol 1.

I’ve had the pleasure of watching your journey from (nearly) the beginning. Are you surprised by how far you’ve come?

Honestly yes. I am very fortunate and grateful for what’s happened over the last 3-4 years. The friends that I’ve made in this journey will be considered my life-long friends and I am very thankful for them.

Is there anyone milestone or achievement that stands out and still shocks you?

The Shambhala booking this year. This has been a dream festival for so long, it’s surreal that this is finally coming to fruition. I am so excited and thankful for this opportunity.

I like the unexpectancy that comes from this journey. I am enjoying the ride so far. I want to continue writing stories with my music and hopefully tell them on a bigger stage/platform so who knows where that will take me.

Where do you see music taking you from here?

I am not sure. I like the unexpectancy that comes from this journey. I am enjoying the ride so far. I want to continue writing stories with my music and hopefully tell them on a bigger stage/platform so who knows where that will take me. I definitely want to make some merch and have something tangible.

One of the things that has helped you to stand out is your signature sound. Are there specific things you do to ensure that signature is distilled within each of your tracks or does it happen organically?

I tend to use the same instruments for most of my music but I always attempt to add something new to my sound design that hopefully makes each tune unique in its own way.

you have to find that sweet spot between being chaotic and over the top with your sound design, and having a good flow in your song to make sure people follow, head bop or whatever you want them to do.

Your music is extremely experimental but also maintains a certain amount of approachability. How do you find that balance when creating?

I think it’s important to note, when creating music that’s approachable, you have to find that sweet spot between being chaotic and over the top with your sound design, and having a good flow in your song to make sure people follow, head bop or whatever you want them to do. Most of the time people tend to gravitate towards something that is catchy or has a good rhythm for them to follow along to, so arranging a song where it has these qualities I find helps.

Your projects tend to have a thematic tie throughout. Do you develop the concept ahead of creating the music or does the music end up informing the theme?

A little bit of both. I know what kind of song I want to make and get the rough idea down for starters, then figure out why I am writing this song, what is this supposed to be about, and I come up with a theme. Other times I know what kind of theme I want to go for and come up with something as close as I can to that idea.

It’s no secret that the natural world is a key source of your inspiration. What’s the most incredible place you’ve ever been?

Machu Picchu and Cuzco in Peru are one of my favorite destinations. The architecture, Incan sites, mountain terrains, and everything about that place was incredible. I would love to go back. What makes Peru special; my extended family lives in Lima, Peru and I have a lot of memories from where I used to visit them every year growing up. When I was little, my grandparents used to have this giant garden filled with so many plants and flowers, it was intense.

What are you most excited about right now?

I’ve been enjoying what I have been writing lately and I am so excited to share all these new tunes this year. I have a few festivals that I am playing at that are huge milestones for me and I can’t wait to experience them.

I want to do more in both music and life. Start a family, have more dogs, explore the world some more. I still feel very young and have tons of energy for everything still so I am thankful for that.

You turned 30 a few weeks back. Has the milestone changed your outlook in any way?

Definitely. I want to do more in both music and life. Start a family, have more dogs, explore the world some more. I still feel very young and have tons of energy for everything still so I am thankful for that. I want to focus a lot on my health both physically and mentally so that’s a huge goal for 30. Music wise I am still writing and enjoying every minute of it, so the music is not stopping anytime soon.

What’s next for you musically?

Up next I am releasing a song called ‘Red Eyed Lily’ – it’s the last song in this mix. I am also playing Kosmic Kingdom on June 4th so I am pumped to witness a renaissance festival mixed with bass music.

Any final words?

Hope you enjoy the mix, stay safe and healthy. Thank you so much for having me.

The Boost Gang is back with the third installment of their Boost Tape series. We described the first edition as the pinnacle of trap and characterized the second as top tier. To say the bar has been set rather high would be an understatement but I am happy to report that they have once again delivered. The latest edition features another star-studded lineup that includes DJ Ride, GANZ, JWLS, Losco x golden child, Floret Loret, anti., episcool, Jon1st, Rohaan, Luminox, So Sus, HUCCI, and more! With over 20 tracks there’s simply too much heat to dive into detail on every track but we’ve opted to highlight some of our favourites.

anti. is one of the most underrated producers in trap right now and ‘FLEX’ serves as another reminder he’s next up. The track perfectly balances OG trap tendencies with a heavier bass vibe for a certified banger. ‘SAFEWITHME’ jumped out among the first section with the track proving to be one of Farrah most impressive releases to date. The bounce is immaculate, mixing booming low end with futuristic and mean club energy.

Anytime HUCCI drops it’s a treat and ‘Low Charge 6000’ is no exception. When it comes to making moody trap beats, there’s still no one better.

If you’re looking for some DnB the tape also has you covered. Jon1st’s ‘Step Up’ takes iconic rap vocals and creates a menacing off-kilter bruiser. Drawing on a similar dark energy, Rohaan unveils the monster that is ‘Sabertooth.’ This one takes you down dark alleys and into questionable dank basements for a raw rave aesthetic.

FUXWITHIT favourites Losco & golden child team up for the trap banger you’d expect from the two. The track finds that perfect balance between cartooney fun and brutish street sound. Another FUXWITHIT mainstay So Sus amazes with ‘Whale Song’ a track that draws from nature to create an epic sonic journey.

Anytime I explore a compilation I am hoping to find at least one or two new artists that truly wow me. So Durand and WERK checked that box with two of the most impressive offerings on the project. So Durand’s ‘Do2me (feat. Sacha Foster)’ is nothing short of an anthem. The emotive and catchy vocals lock listeners in while drops absolutely bang. Meanwhile, on ‘GEDDIT’ WERK bring a TNGHT-inspired sound that is nothing short of masterful. Warning: you may want to sell your soul to the devil just to ‘GEDDIT.’

TL;DR: Boost Tape 03 is one of the hardest compilations of the year to no one’s surprise.

Creating a universe not yet discovered, Floret Loret shares one of his newest pieces, ‘Depths.’ A mind-bending experience built for the sole purpose of showing listeners the evolution within his creativity and vision. Paying homage to his journey throughout the years while creating a sneak peek for an even brighter future to come! Plus, this is only one of the highly intelligent forms of art he’s released today. A part of his newest EP, In Maroon, he’s taking his skills and dedication to the next level. Conquering new challenges and bringing brand new qualities to his art.

Floret Loret has made countless amounts of hits and inspirational pieces throughout his life. Teaming up with labels such as Quality Goods Records, Electric Hawk, mau5trap and more, the icon always knows how to make your jaw drop right to the floor. Every track of his has such distinct and unique qualities. Whether it be the atmosphere, drums, sound design, you name it! There’s something for everyone within his discography of gems. And it’s with our utmost pleasure to help premiere one of his newest priceless works.

I wanted to wrap up this EP with something that helps tie it all together. It is a very gritty tune where the basses take the main control for the majority of the tune. The bass riffs sound like they’re ripping and tearing each other apart aggressively. The melodic elements come in during the breakdown and second half of the tune, I kind of hint towards my past production where there’s a smooth atmosphere of breakdown and an abruptly second half meshing both of them together in a way that makes sense – Floret Loret

‘Depths’ is a sonic pleasing boost of energy. Creating senses of inner peace while leaving you in a complete trance from start to finish. A beautiful story told through sound and impeccable grooves. This specific song from the EP really stands out and completely takes your breath away. From a star-striking introduction with gorgeous detail to a heavy-hitting drops comprised of distorted leads, wavy movements, and more, you’ll be knocked out of your seat with every given moment. Even the breakdown consists of memorable characteristics such as a dream-based melody, haunting fills, and more. Holding your hand, and guiding you to a glistening safe space.

The amount of detail is chilling to the core. Making any listener want to hit the replay button for a lifetime. And the balance between those heavy and comforting frequencies is done to perfection. Resulting in one of his best works to date. An instant anthem that will become a staple for not only himself, but the underground scene entirely. So make sure to go support him by streaming ‘Depths’ and the full EP everywhere!

After a brief hiatus of just over six months, Quality Goods Records return today with the fifth instalment of their Quality Vibes series. Known as the softer side to the usually hard-hitting bass label, the Vibes series is intended to evoke emotion with its releases, and who better to so than FUXWITHIT favourites Floret Loret and Silva.

From releases on mau5trap to Bassrush, and collaborations with Zeds Dead to capshun, Floret Loret needs no introduction. His distinctive style is familiar enough to enjoy from a multitude of settings, but unique enough to carve its own lane in the electronic music scene. Similarly, Silva has adopted an infectious take on future bass that is equally emotive as it is invigorating, while recently expanding into trap and drum and bass to further strengthen his catalogue.

Together, the two unlikely collaborators join forces to create a cohesive intertwining of their respective sounds. Aptly titled ‘Glacier,’ the piece will induce spine-chilling goosebumps upon pressing play through its serene, almost mystical soundscape. As the track builds to its crescendo, the pair of artists unleash a hypnotizing barrage of chaotic chords that still somehow sound magical and beautiful. ‘Glacier’ provides the perfect balance between highs and lows, making this an easy addition to a ton of versatile playlists. Don’t miss it below.

Traveling through unknown realms, SISKA and Floret Loret are back to impress us all once again. But this time, they have finally teamed up to bring quite the journey called ‘Hylocereus.’ A quest so deep and meaningful, it’ll have your jaw completely open from beginning to end. To see these heavy hitters come together is so inspiring and exciting for all of us listening. And known for their futuristic sound design and arrangements, both have worked for years to learn something new to bring to their own production styles. Amping up the quality with every release. Truly separating themselves from all the rest and becoming real powerhouses in the industry. Every track they bestow upon their audience is different and unexplainable. Sending listeners on journeys to places you didn’t even know existed. It’s a surprise for all and makes their fans want more.

‘Hylocereus’ is a flourishing range of distinct melody and sensation. It shines a colorful and satisfying light on both artists’ styles and creativity. Grabbing your attention at an instant right from the beginning with glitchy attributes and a futuristic landscape for all life to grow. And through this field of rebirth and richness, you’ll encounter a ton of sweet and long-lasting characteristics and textures. From impactful drums, a broad space of unbelievable rhythms and more, you’ll be on your knees with praise for their healthy and well-balanced chemistry through the music itself. This track really does take you on a ride you’ve never experienced before. Nothing ever feels rushed or straight in your face. Both of them know how to ease sections in at the right times. Creating a wavy and powerful pace for all to admire. A true work of contemporary art that should be presented in a museum.

Two of the most progressive minds in the bass music world, Capshun and Floret Loret, have both been waging their own separate campaigns of audio domination through their eccentric and wholly unique styles. Between Capshun’s top-tier trap production which has landed him releases on the likes of Sable Valley, Quality Goods Records, and a sizzling guest mix for us here on FUXWITHIT 3 years ago, and Floret Loret’s unmatched ability to curate some of the most all-encompassing soundscapes on the current market that has garnered him a collaboration with the iconic duo Zeds Dead, an EP release on Bassrush, and a guest mix for us, it’s no wonder these two eventually decided to put their heads together to create something truly special. What better occasion than on a compilation album curated by the one and only Clozee herself? Continuing their trend of promoting only the most potent of vibe-riddled audible adulterants, Gravitas Recordings has burst into 2021 with the unveiling of their 15-track Emergence compilation album, hand-picked by the French queen of world bass, and we have the great pleasure of premiering Capshun and Floret Loret’s collaboration ‘Wisteria’ from it for your listening pleasure right here on FUXWITHIT.

“Wisteria is a blend of both our styles. The name comes from our influences in Asian Culture (capshun) and floral/plants (Floret Loret). There is a sense of clarity throughout the song as it picks you up from the start and gradually evolves into a beautiful soundscape. We hope you enjoy the tune” – Floret Loret

Featuring a lush, dense introduction that warmly greets you as you embark on this 207-second excursion through time and space, ‘Wisteria’ sets an immediate tone of sensational prowess and palpable emotion. Sensual faded vocal samples and a delightful flute sample that tickles the mind breach the surface of this emotion-rich piece before slathering you in a hearty helping of purring low-end sub-bass. A one-way ticket straight to contentedness and full-bodied euphoria, you won’t have to merely believe you’re the main character in this world anymore, you will transcend your mortal being and attain a state of temporary enlightenment that is reserved for only the most sacred of ceremonial rituals. A true treat on the ears and a serendipitous sensory stimulator, this is one that will surely leave you consistently coming back for more.

It’s really no surprise to any longstanding fans of these two magisterial artists that their first collab would be an absolute hit. It would probably come as no surprise either then, that the rest of Emergence is a captivating headfirst dive into an entire jungle ecosystem of genres, styles, and energies. Clozee has once again shown she has unquestionable taste and an unparalleled connection to the pulse of the community at-large. And, all the artists tapped for this album have put on full-display just why they were chosen in the first place. Keep a keen eye out for the full release of Emergence on the 26th, but for now check out ‘Wisteria’ for yourself below!

Few artists today have been able to expertly fuse melodic mastery with an experimental approach as well as Floret Loret. His self-released debut EP Tangled Roots marked his impactful arrival and his follow-up Secluded Garden proved his staying power. Hot off of his collaboration with Zeds Dead, Floret Loret returns with a brand new EP entitled Prosper on Bassrush. The four track effort arrives tomorrow but we have the distinct honour of giving fans an exclusive premiere a day early.

The title references my growth as a musician and the progression of how these songs came along. This is a step toward a new direction for my sound. Continuing to grow from the previous EPs, (Secluded Garden & Tangled Roots) I wanted to experiment more of the tools available to me. There’s a lot of bitcrush-y, melodic, low-end bass engulfing sounds throughout this EP that I’ve been messing around with and I feel like it’s helped the stories and ideas come to life in my music. – Floret Loret

With each release Floret Loret evolves and expands his sound. While previous works drew deeply from the natural world, Prosper takes a more industrial and synthetic approach. Imagery of lush exotic jungles are replaced with digitized visuals and pulsing electrical energy. Keeping true to his word, the project sees an expansion into a new direction; one which dark and powerful.

This is a bit darker and aggressive compared to my past work, but it wasn’t intentional. Music is a coping mechanism for me, so I think I may have subconsciously manifested darker, more aggressive emotions due to the current state of the world and some personal issues I’ve been going through.

Some of the tunes were already written – ‘Nu Bloom’ & ‘Melted Lavender’ – prior to COVID-19. But they were also written to during a weird time in my life. I was living by myself for a bit and keeping my thoughts and feelings bottled up. I revisited them once we entered the quarantine in March and then after I wrote ‘Afterblooms’ & ‘Abscissions’ in the first couple of weeks. – Floret Loret

Don’t let the darker direction, scare you, there’s still a wealth of beauty under the surface. Melody plays a vital role in each track and serves as the common thread that ties Prosper together.

My dad actually gave me the idea of telling a story through the melody of each track. So as you listen to each song you’ll hear the melody develop, grow, and enter different phases. I tried to do this with every song on the EP, but the challenge was keeping each one unique and having each song tell it’s own story. I really hope you guys enjoy this one! – Floret Loret

From beginning to end Floret Loret’s latest takes you on a trip through space and time. ‘Nu Bloom’ serves as a haunting and evocative opener while ‘Melted Lavender’ leverages contrasting sounds to create a track that is stark yet stunning. ‘Afterblooms’ is like a distorted trek through a garden developed by an AI superpower. Rounding out the project comes ‘Abscissions,’ a metallic-riddled menace with tribal undertones that’s sure to leave your brain blown. Escapist bass music at its finest, the project is a captivating expedition into a futuristic world.

Stream Prosper below and be sure to pre-save the EP here.

Featuring ten brazen tracks from talents from across the globe, Bassrush have curated yet another exquisite compilation, going above and beyond expectations.

In the mood for pristine halftime? Dive into Saka’s mesmerizing ‘Slipstream’ or Rejack’s rugged ‘Psychout.’ Need heavy dubstep to carry you to the weekend? Hukae’s got you covered with the eclectic ‘Zonked,’ first teased in his 2020 Showcase, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. It’d be a nuisance to try to do every track on the compilation justice, as each stands well on its own and contributes well to the ensemble. With Tek Genesis, Super Future, FLY, Floret Loret, Khiva, Noer The Boy, NIK P and Phantom Nexus rounding out The Prophecy: Volume 2, we highly recommend you dive in and let this be the soundtrack to your weekend.
