Looking to uncover your favorite new artist? We’ve got you. Focus Five Volume 90 highlights a UK-based DnB standout, a Tokyo-based producer with some wild club sounds, a bitbird-backed artist bringing the groove, a Korean wave artist packing heaps of emotion in his works, and a trap and bass producer bringing the bounce. Get familiar with all five below.

Omadhaun

Hailing from Bristol, U.K., Omadhaun is the next up-and-coming producer you need to know about. Combining a variety of vibes and flavours, his new project, ‘Hornets’ is a fresh take on DnB, utilising eclectic Jungle rhythms and different timbres from across the world. It’s like nothing you’ve ever heard before… and yet somehow feels so right and familiar. The intro track ‘Hornets’ has a plucked section which feels both Middle Eastern & Hispanic, before the Bristolian decides to blow your head off with some pointy bass lines.

To say that Omadhaun has a unique sound would be an understatement; he’s almost incomparable. The production quality is up there with the best, something even Billain would be proud of. One minute you have some of the cleanest string sections ever featured on a DnB track in ‘String Theory’ & then you suddenly get thrown into the Bristol rave scene with some crazy jungle drum patterns and Reese basses that will melt your face. This new project has been signed to Inspected, so it’s only a matter of time before he blows. Don’t miss the opportunity to tell your friends, ‘I heard him first’.

Oyubi

The more years go by, the more fun it is to browse FUXWITHIT’s website. In the extensive archive that our fantastic team has built up, you can find ever-surprising easter eggs. Once I’d decided to write about Oyubi for this 90th edition of Focus Five, I did the usual check to make sure no one had already written about him (89 issues, i.e. 445 artists, are hard to remember off the top of my head). When I saw a result pop up on the screen, my reaction was very much along the lines of “Who? When?” It turned out it wasn’t another Focus Five feature, but one of his songs, ‘BOTA’, was played in a 2021 guest mix by Sinistarr (curated by the one and only Arielle). A little cathartic moment that made me reflect on our legacy as a blog, on the importance of the documentation work on the web (that is carried out by far too few people), and on how culture travels through time.

Anyway, enough with the rhetoric. Let’s talk about this month’s protagonist: Oyubi. The Tokyo-based producer first caught my attention last year with the release of the Sin Jyuk Guen EP, a mesmerising and hallucinatory project in collaboration with Kush Jones, whose title track is undoubtedly one of the most criminally underrated tracks of 2025. Close to the phenomenal TREKKIE TRAX crew and co-founder, alongside Fetus, of his own club night and later label called Turing, Oyubi is responsible for another of my current favourite tunes, ‘Letzgo’, published back in November. His latest EP titled Since I (released via TREKKIE TRAX), is yet another brilliant work. An unpredictable explosion of creativity that flirts with both personal listening and the club dimension. Once again, the analytical mastery Oyubi brings to the programming of these sound structures sheds its electronic nature the moment it escapes the headphones and reaches human eardrums, transforming into a hedonistic, and sensual energy. Be sure to closely follow Oyubi because who knows what his next move will be. Go and read the bio for Since I on Bandcamp to discover some fascinating insights into his creative process, and follow him everywhere so you don’t miss his next move.

Tej

This month’s pick comes from the usually-crappy, sometimes-lucky Spotify algorithm. I make a point to listen to my entire Release Radar every week in case I stumble upon a hidden gem, and while this usually leads me to listening to a bunch of subpar music, it’s worth it when it leads me to an artist like Tej. Hailing from San Francisco, the producer landed on my radar (no pun intended) a few weeks back with his bass-driven tune ‘more_time.wav’ that uniquely blends the groovy elements of house with a more futuristic, trap-leaning second half. This interesting combination led me further down the Tej rabbit hole, and I was highly impressed by the artist’s distinctly captivating sound. His latest project, (some sort of mania…), is riddled with exciting cuts, with ‘right_here_(right_now).wav’ standing out in particular. With his last two projects coming out on bitbird, it’s obvious some bigger names in the scene have already taken note of Tej, but it’s time to get him a bigger following! He’s got some banging bootlegs of big tracks such as ‘hit me where it hurts x’ and ‘Winny’ on his SoundCloud, so don’t sleep on this rising star.

Hailing from Seoul, Korea, Xyn is an artist within the sonic spectrum you need to know about. From euphoric melodies, eternal storytelling from his arrangements alone, to integrating pure emotion in each track, we heavily suggest keeping him on your radar. His most recent singles are truly elegant in nature. ‘When I’m Gone’ provides a touch of hard wave while still presenting itself as a mellow entity. While ‘I Don’t Wanna Wake Up’ integrates a fun hip-hop feel while still stepping into a vast open space in the following sections of the track. The vocals he uses also provide such heavy support and are perfect for the environment he creates. So definitely don’t sleep because we have a wonderful feeling he has even more stacked heat ready for the future!

zero point

“Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who da fuck?” The simple repeated vocal chops and bouncy basslines from zero point‘s ‘Who’ have been on a constant loop in my head since before the track was even officially released last month. They also embody my reaction when I first found zero point’s music. With the tagline “Less noise | More bounce” zero point is working to bring the bounce and swagger back to electronic trap. ‘Who’ is the perfect embodiment of the minimal yet banging trap and bass sound I’ve been wishing there was more of. ‘Who’ is the ideal introduction to the artist, showcasing his production mastery and infectious style. Keeping the momentum going, he just dropped another banger with our friends at Presently Lifted with ‘Shake’. The track offers a similar infectiousness and knock, with a touch of added grittiness. For something a little more vibey, may I recommend ‘Drift’ alongside ‘PANDO!’ The track mixes a summery sound palette, breathy vocal samples, a majestic pluck lead, and a dirty south vocal that you won’t be able to get enough of. If those three tracks don’t convince you to become a fan, you’re probably reading the wrong site. And those 3 just scratch the surface of his catalog, don’t sleep on his recent Justin Timberlake and fred again.. flips. zero point isn’t just one of the best of artist finds I’ve come across this month, but one of my favourite discoveries in the past twelve months at least. 2026 is going to be zero point’s year. Trust me.

If you’re looking for a new artist to fall in love with, you’ve come to the right place. Focus Five Volume 89 showcases five unique producers showcasing a wide array of sounds. We’ve got a Swedish producer fusing minimal club energy, future bass, and trap, an LA producer who is set to make 2026 her own, an Italian artist characterized as more of a craftsman than a producer, a dnb vet exploring some incredible 140, and a trap and bass artist that I was actually shocked to learn we had yet to feature. Get familiar below.

ablon!

ablon! first landed on my radar last year when his track ‘Andas’ landed as the 20th and final contribution to Good Dub’s THE SOUND DESIGN CLUB II compilation. To be honest, the only thing that brought me to the compilation was Leotrix’s track, but when I started making my way through the rest of the collection, I was pleasantly surprised by the sheer volume of great tracks from artists I had never come across. Among those artists was ablon!, a young Swedish producer who created the perfect ending to the impressive compilation. ‘Andas’ starts with (presumably) Swedish vocals layered above a minimal instrumental section that isn’t super complex but still drives emotion and movement, before the artist continues to build on that emotive energy. Diving deeper into ablon!’s discography, I discovered a common theme of minimal club energy, future bass, and trap all uniquely intertwined to create a distinct signature sound. Don’t sleep on ablon!.

Klo

With a style spanning 140, UKG, and bass house, Los Angeles-based producer Klo has been steadily taking over. My first exposure to Klo was ‘ROUND N’ ROUND’ alongside SVDKO, which made me audibly yell out “wooooooooo” on my first listen. The combination of ridiculously catchy vocals, shuffly hats, and those ludicrous basslines is enough to drive any basshead wild. But Klo is far from a one-hit wonder. ‘SAY SOMETHING’ offers a similar catchy 140 energy with a vibey reese bass-driven intro and breaks to mix in some feels. She’s also got a collection of dope flips, including reworks of EsDeeKid, JT, and fred again.., to name a few. She’s also been absolutely exploding on social media while getting support from some of the biggest names in bass music, so expect to see Klo everywhere in 2026.

HLRTY

It’s spelt HLRTY, it’s pronounced HILARITY. This is the moniker behind this Palermo-born, now Bologna-based DJ and producer, who describes himself as “more of a craftsman than a producer.” Closely linked to an artist we’ve previously mentioned here on Focus Five, COIDO, HLRTY is a producer who approaches club music from many different angles without being confined to a single genre. Each of his tracks is an exercise in technical minimalism (he himself says, “I’ve always been afraid of having to complicate the tracks to give them structure”) but more than anything else, an expression of his heart. He pours his whole identity into his beats—his knowledge and experiences, his past and the future he envisions. HLRTY embodies the stereotype of the brilliant Italian producer who is hard to spot in the hyper-fragmentation of the Italian bass scene. He tackles this head-on in the new compilation *ITAITAITA, released by the collective *asterisco, of which he is a co-founder, featuring him alongside seven fellow Italian artists.

UK-based producer LEWP has made a name for himself in the DnB scene with years of dope releases, but it’s his recent foray into 140 that made me really pay attention. ‘Energy’ flips the iconic “Liquid means rewind, gunshot means forward” vocals into a blistering 140 anthem. Chopped vocals, hypnotic leads, snapping drums, beastly horns, and some killer basslines make this one an undeniable anthem. If you’re looking for something a bit more vibey, his liquid DnB flip of Sampha’s ‘Too Much’ has you covered with minimal groove. And if you’re a grime head, he’s also got a fire flip of JME you have to peep.

For a good while now, Raucous has been shattering frequency ceilings with his mind-bending pieces. Showcasing constant evolution with every release, filled to the brim with constant ear candy. Proving to be one of the best in the game. From releases with Partica Artist Group, Dumb Collective, and more, the complexity of his works will make any crowd beg for more. Being heavily underrated, the artist has been working day and night to rise to the top. And in doing so, he’s pushing the electronic trap scene higher and higher. No matter which track of his you choose, you’re in for a wild experience. From his most recent stellar and violent tune, ‘PUMP IT,’ to an earth-shattering tribute to LYNY’s, ‘Fire,’ his perseverance knows no bounds. Completely leaving his audience in a frenzy. It’s overdue for the world to know his name and what he’s truly capable of, and we’re stoked to hear much more from him throughout the year!

If you’re looking for new artists, you’ve come to the right place. Focus Five brings you our team’s five favorite new finds. Volume 84 highlights an anonymous LA producer, a virtual unknown bringing the heat, a groovy UKG artist, a cinematic creator, and a minimal dubstep master. Get familiar with each below.

BLOODY

As always, we at FUXWITHIT have our ears wide open and are ready to pick up and receive the most interesting sounds out in the universe. The broadcast that has piqued my interest the most this month goes by the code name BLOODY. I don’t use this word randomly because this one is, in fact, a completely anonymous project. The only information known and confirmed at the moment is that he gravitates in the LA orbit and he eclipses his face behind an outré, red mask. What can be deduced however, is that it’s a side / new project by someone with plenty of previous experience in the scene. Since its debut release (‘ISTANTE’, published in 2023), BLOODY has been churning out extremely clean, perfectly crafted songs. This technical quality immediately established itself as the common denominator of his entire catalogue, which otherwise jiggles effortlessly between dubstep, 4/4 cuts, and indie pop (passing through some weird stuff in the middle). His latest output set quite the example. The two singles, ‘FADE’ and ‘PRETTY,’ are from two whole different planets. The former is a brutal heavy bass tune that craves for mosh pits, while the second one is a lovely minute-and-a-half alt-pop ballad. Does it make sense? Hardly. However, I appreciate the bold approach BLOODY is putting on the line, and without doubt, he has successfully made me curious for his next moves.

There isn’t much known about Modula. With a few hundred followers on SoundCloud, a handful of followers on Spotify, and no artist bio or country of residence listed, there isn’t a lot we can tell you about the artist, outside of the music. The producer just landed on my radar thanks to our friends at Don’t Die At Work, as his latest single ‘Pulse’ arrived on their label on Friday. The track was impressive enough to prompt a deep dive into his catalog, and it did not disappoint. Moving between DnB, 140, UKG, and beyond, the producer is building his own signature style. ‘Pulse’ offers the perfect introduction into his sound, fusing emotive vocal chops, dark soundscapes, brutish bass, and an energetic percussive approach. ‘XME’ blends jazzy overtones with pulse-raising UKG groove that’s assured to have your feet moving. If you’re looking for something absolutely filthy, peep his flip of FLOWDAN’s ‘Horror Show Style‘ and watch the grimey bass seep through your speakers. Give his music a spin, and give him a follow; he deserves it.

Stave

If you’re looking for some groovy UKG to blast for the rest of the summer, look no further than Stave. The Bradford-based producer landed on my radar a few months back with his incredibly infectious bop ‘Duela,’ and I’ve been keeping a close eye on the artist ever since. ‘Duela’ has amassed over 350k plays on Spotify at the time of writing, attesting to its undeniable appeal. The track isn’t overly complex, but the catchy samples, rhythmic percussion, and groovy basses make it a perfect UKG hit. Since that release, Stave has shown that the virality of ‘Duela’ wasn’t a fluke, with a new album released in June and a handful of singles adding to his impressive discography. With artists such as Sammy Virji and Interplanetary Criminal absolutely popping off right now, it’s only a matter of time until Stave becomes a popular name in that space. Don’t sleep.

Buttxrfly‘s cinematic and widespread presence within his tracks is truly breathtaking, to say the least. Creating obscure and magnificent atmospheres are his specialty, taking his listeners into a futuristic realm full of much to explore. From poetic melodies, hard-hitting drums, and bass lines, you’ll be whisked away into the addictive stasis of sound. His track, ‘V3ins of Glass’ transports you to a dark and hypnotic dance floor deep within the underground full of souls waiting to pass on. With an incredible vocal to compliment his composition. Purely haunting, tasteful, and magnificent. But his most recent tune really makes you feel lifted into the stratosphere. ‘Sever’ is a pure fever dream you’ll never want to wake up from. The impactful drum creations knocking throughout your mind while those vocals take center stage completely adds another layer of harmony.
“We love that low end” is the tagline of Minnesota-based TRiP B. After getting the chance to catch his set live at Sound Haven last weekend, I can say with confidence that it isn’t a lie. I’m a sucker for artists who utilize empty space in their tracks, a talent which TRiP B has mastered. His set was a jaw-dropping blend of sharp stabs and deep kicks punctuated by grimy vocals and the occasional R&B throwback from the 90s/00s. This man had me hollering at 4:00 in the morning like I had just hit a crack pipe, I couldn’t get enough. I’m not sure what to call this sort-of minimalist approach to dubstep, but when tracks with so much empty space are mixed together, they erupt into something that just tickles my brain in a way that most dubstep doesn’t. Individual tracks on SoundCloud really don’t do the sound justice. Whatever you’re cooking up there in Minnesota, keep it comin’ my guy. I can’t wait to stand in front of the subwoofers for you again.

Your go-to music discovery column is back with its 83rd installment. Our latest edition of Focus Five features a mysterious producer who caught our eye on Upscale, an incredible liquid DnB standout, a young wave producer, a Kiwi artist who has been drifting on and off our radar for years, and an artist who appears to have exploded out of nowhere. Get familiar with all five now.

Artifact Generator

Upscale just celebrated its 12th anniversary, and with it came the impressive UPSCALE DOZENTH YEAR compilation. The usual suspects on the label such as Hudson Lee and Frequent, Echo Map and Tom Finster, and niko scheme and voljum all had great collaborations featured in the collection, but the biggest surprise to me came from two names that I hadn’t heard of before: Artifact Generator and O-Prime Delta. While the latter actually has two songs in the compilation, I chose to feature the former for this issue simply due to alphabetical order. ‘Shaneenis’ totally caught me off guard when I listened for the first time because I am a sucker for that nostalgic glitch-hop/electro sound. Executed with a modern twist that then transitions to a more dubstep-leaning vibe, ‘Shaneenis’ embodies what brought me to love bass music all while capturing what still makes it entertaining 15+ years later. After listening to the track on repeat for way longer than I’d like to admit, I realized I had to know more about Artifact Generator, and unfortunately there isn’t that much out there (not even a press pic). While their SoundCloud discography goes back to 2018, their catalog is relatively brief, but experimentation lies at the core of their sound. Here’s to hoping we get more Artifact Generator on Upscale soon!

Summer calls for liquid Drum&Bass and Gabriella Bongo is here to become your new favourite dealer. Stocking up on the likes of Rudimental, Hybrid Minds, and Chase & Status, the 20-year-old songwriter, producer, and DJ from South London has made her debut on the scene with a string of luscious starters over the past 365 days. From Unsettled Rhythms, Gabriella’s debut EP to ‘Breathe’, her last single passing through collaborations with Dogger and Degs, her growing catalogue is a celebration of the soulful and introspective side of Drum&Bass. A vibrant and fine-grained sound that blends orchestral elements with tight liquid grooves and shines brighter than ever when paired with the right singer. Like in the case of ‘Spacesuite’, released on Degs’ second album, which instantly became my new obsession. It is therefore no surprise that Gabriella is the latest signee of Hospital Records.

Hailing from Spain, Sylphera‘s gorgeous and melodic touch will have you lost in a pure stasis. Creating tunes to drift around the tightest of corners in your environment. The way he’s able to beautifully craft such vast and heart-wrenching spaces will have you blown away. It’s easy to say he’s been working day and night to harness these incredible abilities throughout his life. Always delivering the latest and the greatest. From choosing the perfect vocals to add to his creations, to executing ideas in a fashionable sense, there’s no stopping this artist from soaring above and beyond to his personal goals. His most recent remixes of Naits, The Weeknd, and even Juice WRLD prove just how much he’s evolved and wants to contribute to the scene in a memorable state. Those hard-hitting bass lines, crazy drums, and magnificent melodic sound design can truly rip through space and time. We’re stoked to hear what’s next for him!

New Zealand-based producer and DJ Yancey has been on our radar for years. The fact that he hasn’t been featured in Focus Five until now is shocking (I had to search our archives to be sure). He first landed on our radar back in 2021 with his QGR debut ‘Shaolin Noon’ alongside Golden Child & jojas. The track is a snappy trap anthem utilizing a distorted world sample, bouncey percussion, and healthy knock. After a few years, I had lost sight of his work, that is until his remix of Yizzy’s ‘Blue Freestyle’ popped up. UK Rap and 140 dubstep are the perfect combination, and Yancey proves it yet again with this fire flip. The grittiness of the bars is matched by the filthy basslines. Yancey lets the raps take center stage for the majority of the track before unloading a fierce instrumental finale. Most recently, the producer opted to take on Griselda’s Westside Gunn with ‘TALK TO ‘EM WESTSIDE’. Hypnotic melodies swirl around chunky drums and bumping low end, creating a dark yet destructive backdrop that perfectly fits under Westside Gunn’s violent bars. If you like to hear rap and bass music collide as much as I do, you need to be listening to Yancey.

With only seven tracks on SoundCloud (and even fewer on Spotify), zoey808 seemingly emerged from the ether putting the pedal to the metal. Despite what the SoundCloud tags might lead you to believe, these tracks are not your run-of-the-mill “Dance & EDM” music. This producer is pulling no punches with a collection of certified bass HEATERS. Short discography aside, zoey808 even snagged a slot playing Electric Forest this year alongside bbno$, resulting in what I can only describe as a tremendously silly and upbeat set. Is this some well-established producer’s side project/alias? Is this a newcomer to the scene with some crazy raw talent? I wish I knew the answer, but either way, I’m here for it. Give us more zoey808 in 2025, please and thank you!
This month’s installment of Focus Five features a UK producer blending soul and knock, a diverse Berlin-based creator, an artist whose debut has been 7 years in the making, a brilliant Swedish artist, and a producer bringing the summer house grooves. Get familiar with all 5 below.

BSEARL

Times really are changing. While my Focus Five selections generally come from SoundCloud digging or stand-out gems from DJ mixes, this month’s selection landed on my radar from a random Instagram reel. UK-based producer BSEARL caught my eye while I was scrolling through reels with a video rocking a hard hat, ear protection, and a reflective vest with a text overlay that read, “people I work with on site have no idea I make music like this >>>” The sound of a hauntingly soulful vocal over emotive chords gave way to a quick drum roll and a stunning drop with immersive low end and groove-filled percussion. The track was so impressive that it warranted an instant dive into BSEARL’s SoundCloud. The song in question is ‘SOLD MY SOUL’ and it’s really something special. It’s crazy catchy without being the slightest bit corny. It’s dark, but it’s also beautiful. It’s chill, but it hits. It’s the perfect contrast, counterbalancing contradictions with an airy sense of sophistication. Adding to his recent success, ‘NO MORE PAIN’ is an emotional bassline anthem that once again leverages an addictive vocal and pairs it with driving basslines for a club bop. BSEARL is two for two with recent releases, and his earlier catalog is no joke. 2025 is going to be his breakout year, and it’s already underway.

COIDO

If a producer releases on YUKU, I already know that checking their whole discography is going to be time well spent. This theory proved right once again with COIDO, who recently published a full EP, titled Final Reason, on the Prague-based imprint. This release, alongside a shoutout from a tastemaker such msft, lured me into his realm of bass-weight devastation. Final Reason is a high-voltage package with four tracks that delivers a lethal display of ballistic percussions and rhytmics. Gasoline EP (released November 2024) explores the witching power of slower pacings instead, offering a well-calibrated communion of technical earcandies and club functionality. In Bad Snack EP (released October 2024), probably my favorite release from the Italian producer so far, COIDO spices his muscular kick game with bloghouse, dancehall, and Boyz Noize-techno aromas. Music journalist Shan Reynaldo came up with an iconic description of ‘Sandero’, the EP’s opening track: “Imagine Crookers making something for TraTraTrax—an unruly, horn- and laser-filled tune like ‘Sandero’ just might be the end result.” Traces EP (released May 2024, again on YUKU) goes one deeper. Each tune sounds like the theme song of a bass-music dungeon boss fight. This EP is truly a masterclass in claustrophobic sound design, definitely not for the faint-hearted. If this full immersion has left you sweat-drenched, you’d better level up your game because these were the EPs released by COIDO just in the past year. There’s much, much more to uncover.

Jade Sierra

It’s crazy to think how hard some artists work before ever showcasing their talents to the world. Great art takes time, and Jade Sierra embodies this. On an Instagram post in late 2024, the Dutch artist shared that after 7 years of making music, he was finally releasing his debut EP, and anywhere but here is nothing short of incredible. Overnight successes and one-hit wonders come and go, but for real lovers of music, dedication and hard work is the most important part. Jade Sierra demonstrates this via four incredible tracks that span from electrifying future bass in ‘2hard2move’ to silky smooth drum and bass in ‘do u think about me.’ From catchy ideas to top-tier execution, Jade Sierra’s short yet impressive discography is a must-listen, and the fact that he only has 351 followers at the time of writing is criminal. With additional releases alongside artists such as Malixe and Synergy and surely more to come, Jade Sierra is an undeniable up-and-comer in the bass music scene. Don’t sleep.

The amount of versatile qualities within Silou‘s works are simply jaw-dropping. Hailing from Stockholm, the artist has continued to showcase brilliance with every track put out. Containing some extremely rich tones, techniques, and tender melodies. Not to mention his drums will absolutely knock you out of your seats wherever you are! Glitch-infused sound design, colorful percussion combined with stellar arrangements, you’ll never know what’s coming next.

His remix of Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Savior’ will twist and turn your molecules in such a poetic and beautiful fashion. Honoring Kendrick’s hard-hitting vocals through his signature style of pure chaotic wonder. Those monstrous 808’s combined with such exquisite melodic patterns really add a whole other layer of beauty within. Easily one of the best remixes of Kendrick to date.

Not to mention his latest remix of QUIET BISON’s ’26fe’ will have you in a pure trance of discovery and balance as it highlights everything this artist is capable of and more. Hearing the inspiration from both QUIET BISON and Flume, he’s managed to create his own style through his own wonderful techniques and skill. Uplifting the original to brand new heights with each second. Making this one of this best works yet. We’re truly excited to see and hear where the artist has planned next!
Summer is almost upon us, which means it’s time to start loading up those playlists with laid-back, sun-soaked beats. Let me suggest beginning with DELACOUR, head of the aptly-named Summer Soul Records in Brooklyn, NY. If dreamy, minimalist beats are up your alley, then you’re in for a treat. DELACOUR’s latest track, ‘Keep Giving You All My Love,’ perfectly encapsulates the mood of sunbathing by a poolside or digging your toes into the sand on the beach. Sometimes hazy house music like this can have the opposite effect, almost nap-inducing, but that’s not the case here. DELACOUR’s Bloom EP, released earlier this year, strikes a masterful balance of that same soothing instrumentation with upbeat composition that keeps your head bouncing the entire time. Personally, I can’t get enough of this sound, especially with warm weather right around the corner. Check out some of my favorite recommendations below!

Your favorite monthly music discovery feature is back. Focus Five returns for 2025 with 5 new artist projects you need on your radar. Volume 78 features a gifted young Indian producer, a Taiwanese talent with a palate for international sounds, a producer crafting dark and euphoric soundscapes, a Manchester trio killing the bass scene, and an artist capturing the nostalgia of classic video game sounds. Dive in below.

2dash

On September 24, 2024, I liked ‘Memories’ from 2dash on Spotify. The track stood out among my random algorithm due to its eclectic blend of lush vocals, trap sounds, and a drum and bass palette. I remember having it on loop for a while during that time, but 2dash slowly faded from my radar – until this month. When I saw that Above The Surface was releasing the Indian producer’s latest single, I quickly hopped back onto the 2dash train and never looked back. With support from UKF on this latest release, 2dash blends elements of dubstep, future bass, and hyperpop to create a wildly unique cut. At just 15 years of age and with less than 300 followers on SoundCloud at the time of writing, there’s no denying that the future is bright for this versatile young artist. Don’t sleep on 2dash.

444theGod

For this first Focus Five of the year, we land in Taiwan to get familiar with 444theGod. Producer, DJ, and active member of several music collectives like the emerging party promoter Hentai Hammer, and Beijing’s Jungle music crew P.J.E.T, 444theGod caught my attention with his brand new EP Oxygen activation, released right at the beginning of January via shypeople. This collection offers four dark-toned club cuts that punch our ears with their extra ripped kicks, basslines, and intricated drum layers. Quoting Michail from Hyper Real Radio, “Oxygen Activation goes straight for the jugular with precision-tooled hard drum architecture and body-moving bass weight.” Going backwards, we can find the hellish ‘Hallucination,’ released on Christmas via Ecuadorian netlabel C.T.M, the brostep-influenced EP 战歌 , featured on Shenyang channel FarEastScala, and 444theGod’s debut album El Poema Inacabado, published by Shanghai label Genome6.66Mbp. From these three releases alone, it is pretty clear that 444theGod is a producer with a palate for international sounds who is not at all afraid to engage with a wide range of influences. We can expect a lot of surprises from him, so be sure to keep an eye on his profiles.

The soundscapes Førgøtten creates using cosmic melodies and overall crisp production have won the hearts of many in the underground. His dark and euphoric patterns will comfort your inner and most tender memories in the deepest parts of your mind. Delivering clear and universal clarity to your overall soul. Feeling truly reborn. Hailing from the Netherlands, this artist has delivered some incredible wave style tunes. Each holds its quality and characteristics as each story unfolds. Completely setting the stage and gripping listeners’ attention from the first and last note played. And diving into his discography will only mesmerize you to the highest degree. His recent tracks, ‘Eyes Don’t Lie,’ and ‘Away’ are nothing but impeccable. Both tunes like his others manage to truly define his unique and beautiful presence in the sonic spectrum. Taking the hands of his listeners and guiding them through a vast tunnel of new beginnings. Letting go of the past while embracing the present and what the future holds. We’re excited to see and hear what this year brings to the artist!
I first heard their name at the end of 2024 when a r/trap poster shouted out their Illicit Trade EP as one of the best projects of the year. The September release completely escaped my radar originally but after giving it a listen I was an immediate fan. The four-track project is a diverse but cohesive offering of top-tier bass music. It’s dark and filthy but possesses an additive catchiness. From the dance-friendly vocals on ‘Blackout’ to the potent percussion on ‘Like We’ that reminded me of the glory days of Yellow Claw with a fresh 2024 twist, the project offers something for every bass lover. If you’re looking for something a little more emotive that still hits, their latest single ‘Spine’ is perfect for you. The familiar vocal pulls you in with ease while the production gets wonderfully wild with rolling basslines, grime vox samples, and creative sound design stitching it all together. Lokal finds a sweet spot that perfectly fits within the UK sound the scene has fallen in love with, while still standing out with an original signature style. 2025 is going to be the trio’s breakout year without a doubt.

We show a lot of love to drum and bass here at FUXWITHIT, but today I’m sharing something just a little bit different than the usual bass-laden, smack-your-face kind of tracks we often feature: Pizza Hotline. I was always an avid gamer growing up and, musically, that developed into a soft spot for the Y2K-era jungle music that was popular in level select menus and whatnot back in the day (think Ape Escape, Ridge Racer, Donkey Kong Country, etc.). Pizza Hotline’s discography is a veritable love letter to these same sounds, a nostalgic trip back to the ethereal dreamscape of a dark room with a CRT monitor and a Playstation 1 plugged in. The track titles say as much with names like ‘Stage Select,’ ‘Collision Detection,’ and ‘Newbie Melody.’ Self-described as “Video game flavoured electronic music, with extra cheese,” I think it’s safe to say Pizza Hotline never quite outgrew the era much like myself. I’ve never heard a producer capture the essence of this time period so perfectly. Give yourself a break today and go sailing through these atmospheric, daydreamy beats.
Focus Five – Volume 77 showcases a broad range of talents that have been stealing our team’s ears as of late. Our latest installment features a UK-based producer and vocalist killing the UKG scene, an Indonesian producer taking over the bootleg space, two bass music magicians, and a creator making reflective works of art. Get familiar with all five below.

Bassboy

My obsession with artists from the UK continues this month with Bassboy, a Birmingham-based producer who has been pushing the sounds of bassline and speed garage for much of the last decade. A good hook gets me hooked, pun intended, and Bassboy has nailed it in every track I’ve heard. You like Sammy Virji? You like Conducata? You like Higgo? Well, buddy, you’re gonna love Bassboy. I’m a sucker for soft chord pads, piano rolls, and jazzy beats, all of which are abundant and expertly executed in his discography.

The icing on the cake? He does his own vocals, too! Listening to a track like ‘Snake’ makes it clear that this man could hold his own with some of the grime-era greats; finding a producer/vocalist like this feels rare nowadays, but damn is he a perfect fit for it. I’ll never get tired of garage’s juxtaposition of feel-good summertime beats with hip-hop-inspired lyricism. The MC and the producer both reign supreme – when they’re both the same guy, color me impressed. Get your bounce on with some of my favorites below.

Decemberkid may not be a name you’re familiar with at first pass but if you listened to RL Grime’s recent ‘Halloween XIII: The End’ mix then you’ve heard his music. Landing not one, but two Bootlegs in RL Grime’s iconic mix series is no easy feat but once you dig into the artist’s expansive SoundCloud catalog, it should come as no surprise. Littered with impressive bootlegs, the Indonesian producer has been hard at work cooking up some of the hottest reworks of the year. It was the banging flip of Gunna’s ‘FUKUMEAN’ (with NAKEN) that got me hooked. Blending the catchy vocals with playful Baile percussion, trap aesthetics, and heavy bass makes it an instant slapper. But it’s far from a one-off, Decemberkid boasts wild flips and mash-ups of everything from classic Daft Punk to K-Pop, Skrillex, TNGHT, Ariana Grande, Justin Timberlake, and everything in between. Whether you’re a DJ looking to freshen up your sets with some wild dance floor weapons, or a fan looking to get moving with some familiar yet fresh heaters, Decemberkid has you covered.

K A G E is an artist that I have seen mentioned over the last couple of years but that I never got into checking out until very recently. In fact, it was the magic of an auto-shuffle algorithm that brought me (back) to K A G E when ‘LY’ came on and totally blew me away. Balancing a rugged bassline, crisp percussion, and an emotive chorus of chants, ‘LY’ was the track I needed to hop on the K A G E train. With previous releases on SATURATE!, Renraku, STUDIO, and more, the South Africa-based artist has shown his ability to navigate the various terrains of bass music, and he does so with incredible ease. ‘T E N D E R,’ for instance, is but one example of this production prowess, as the producer crafts a track that seamlessly grows from a gloomy, rugged cut into an uplifting, energetic beast filled with hope. Don’t sleep on K A G E.

After showcasing artists from Japan, Australia, and The Netherlands, this month I’m getting one step closer to home. Before (spoiler alert) finishing another year of Focus Five in Italy, we take a break in Germany. More specifically in Berlin, where we get familiar with ome. The discography of this German producer is a bass junkie’s wet dream. Not since Quest for Fire have I heard low frequencies so dense that they seem to leak out of the speakers. The two EPs released between August and October, Guess Your Not and WAVE019, are square mental. It’s like plunging into a pocket dimension midway through the halftime, dubstep, and UKG universes, where music molds with dark matter to create something beyond an auditory experience. There’s no need for large sound systems. ome’s music is so technically refined that becomes a physical ritual even with a pair of (good) headphones. Tracks as ‘Nada’ o ‘Hmmm‘ are a full brain massage. Just imagine what it is like to attend one of his DJ sets.

Music from all forms has a way of creating a whole new world, reality, and feeling for us listeners. Integrating different emotions and scenarios into our minds. Creating a pure escape you don’t want to leave from. shibíre‘s works are filled with constant mesmerizing forms of melody and auras. Wrapping your hearts and souls in a warm, cozy blanket of hope and happiness. The sense of loss and rebirth are truly strong within many of his pieces. Tapping into your deep and innermost thoughts throughout life, reflecting on what once was and what can be.

One of his most recent pieces, ‘traces‘ truly takes you down a long, snowy road to nowhere. Walking amongst the falling flakes as this piece tells you it’ll be ok in the end. From a soft and majestic melody playing throughout, to a subtle yet powerful bass line to make everything come together, it’s a constant stasis of discovery you’ll always see yourself coming back to. He even released an exciting VIP version incorporating a beautiful and addictive drum pattern to complement the rest!

His newest track, ‘to autumn’ whisks you away into the darkest of nights as the leaves start to change color. Slowly coming to an end and introducing a whole new beginning. Witnessing life pass by as time takes over. In a calm and pleasant tone, the atmosphere surrounding it all transports you into a dramatic cinematic setting. With you as the main character, searching endlessly for answers. Ending up by closing a chapter that has been weighing you down. Letting the past go. It’s music like this which makes you truly wonder and become lost in the best ways possible. Because you know you’ll find a way back soon. Letting you know life isn’t a race. We’re excited to hear what comes next for him!

c8o

DC-based producer c8o (pronounced Cato) has been impressing us for months, becoming a regular in our FUXWITHITFRIDAYS segment. With a sound that blurs the boundaries between OG trap and new age wave his music possesses a weight of emotion without ever sacrificing the knock. His latest release ‘TRIPLE7s’ serves as a perfect introduction to his sound. The captivating banger mixes a childlike earworm melody with snapping trap drums, pounding 808s, and mesmerizing wave textures for an addictive and hard-hitting package that you won’t be able to get enough of. If you’re looking for something moodier, ‘alluneed’ and ‘!UNSPOKEN’ are assured to satiate your desires for a darker direction with a wealth of emotion. With under 500 followers on SoundCloud and just over that number of listeners on Spotify, his following comes nowhere near to reflecting his talent, but we expect that to change soon.

From making fun and catchy dubstep pieces to his skills evolving to a whole new level with his recent projects, chosename has always shown pure energy and perseverance in his journey. Creating hypnotic spaces throughout his discography and showcasing what makes his sound stand out. Driven passion combined with intoxicating production has developed his project to evolve throughout the years.

A perfect example is his recent bootleg of KILLMATTER‘s ‘GAIL HARPO.’ Being so spacey and unique already, the artist completely harvested the elements of the original and created a beautiful new vision from his mind. Paying pure respects to the original while integrating his own wonky and elemental sound design. The slower-paced rhythmic structure combined with that electric bass lead shatters your brain in the best ways. Making it an addictive track to listen to wherever you are.

His most recent bootleg of bbno$‘s ‘it boy’ is a real bass-heavy treat. Taking the original vocals and building a whole new state of mind. Using that similar bass lead to really follow the vocals in a trippy and comforting fashion. Really bringing out a balance of sound as he carefully implemented each element to combine with one another to form this hard-hitting and memorable rework. Ready for any dance floor!

Hailing from Denver, CO, huck.jorris is yet another standout coming from the ever-expanding bass music hotbed. His distinct take on Left Field bass is assured to impress offering a mixture of emotion, grittiness, and hip-hop influence. ‘hazard’ offers an exceptional sample of the producer’s sound. The ominous and epic intro weaves spellbinding images of ancient gods readying for battle. Pitched rap vocals descend into an impeccable onslaught of swampy womps countered by moving synths and snappy percussion. The track blurs the boundaries between filthy and stunning for a captivating listening experience. His remix chops are no joke either, as he takes on FUXWITHIT favourites seeyousoon‘s ‘Shut Up.’ Leaving the raw energy of the original while taking it to another depth of filthy. If gritty bangers aren’t your forte, his Nocturnal Memory EP alongside Supernatural pulls from the natural world taking listeners on a transcendent journey that’s part meditative part bass music mastery. I haven’t been as tapped in on the Left Field Bass sound as of late, but stumbling on huck.jorris offered a timely reminder of how good the sound can be when executed at a high level.

Here’s another long-time-coming Focus Five five pick. In truth, the Jukaa project has only been running for a little over a year, but it had all the credentials to do well right from the start. Real name Jozef van der Veen, before launching his new Jukaa alias the Dutch producer has been releasing music for the past eight years under his previous alter ego Ecepta and as one half of the duo The Outsiders (in tandem with Sorza). Not a bad curriculum to start with. While still playing at events such as Liquicity Festival and High Tea Music’s nights as The Outsiders, in the past year Jukaa paved the foundations of the project by releasing a series of highly successful bootlegs that made some serious waves on SoundCloud and TikTok. Digging on his social media, I found out that discovering clearcast‘s music was what sparked his pop bootleg obsession and “played a huge role in starting Jukaa this way“. This was an apt choice, to say the least. His Taylor Swift and Ice Spice edits currently sit on more than 300k and 200k plays respectively. If you’re into this pop party vibes or a fan of our Bootleg Business column (or both), be sure to check out his ‘i wanna show u off‘ audio/video set. A 30-minute jam perfectly described by a viewer as “a BASS top 50 pop playlist, but it’s a Porter Robinson Secret Sky 2020 DJ set“. If, on the contrary, you are a grumpy purist who only wants to listen to “serious music,” here are a couple of goodies for you: Jukaa has been pretty active as co-producer too, putting his sign on songs like ‘Easy For Them’ (by Rohaan) and ‘Don’t Leave’ (by Tom Frane, RJ Pasin), just to name a few. With his debut EP on the horizon, I’d say we have enough reasons to keep an eye on Jukaa.

kollaba

This is a bit of an odd pick this month, because kollaba is likely not a stranger to many of our readers here. One half of the legendary duo and beatmaker pioneers X&G, kollaba, aka Xian, is already a well-established name. After a phenomenal 8-year run as a duo, Xian and Gaszia parted ways in 2022, with kollaba being Xian’s follow-up solo project.

My lord, what a project kollaba has turned out to be. Xian has really grown into his own sound since going solo and I have nothing but hype for the endeavor. His latest track, ‘FUNCTION FLIP,’ a remix of Justin Martin and Ardalan, is a masterclass in nuanced, grimy beats. The phrasing of this track is so seamlessly blended, not a beat is skipped as the in-your-face sub-bass gives way to a gentle piano outlerlude. Many of kollaba’s recent releases all exhibit a similarly steady rhythm and heartbeat-like tempo that I can only imagine is a love letter to the originators of dub music. His drums have a crunch and crispness to them I can’t even really describe with words, but when you hear it you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about.

I’m a little surprised at how little attention kollaba has garnered since X&G’s split, hence the Focus Five pick for this month. Every track is perfectly engineered to drive a crowd wild, so here’s me hoping and praying that this alias blows the hell up. I seriously can’t get enough.

Capturing elegance and pure color, DJ Semitone‘s creations are truly to behold. Blessing our ears all the way from Helsinki, Finland, his talents are continuing to pave a wonderful sonic path. And with every given release, they’re touching the souls of many with trance-infused sound design. Completely wrapping listeners in a blanket of bliss and rebirth. Transporting us to an outer realm not yet discovered. From a stunning and peaceful collaboration with Niko Demus called ‘Flare,’ to his newest piece, ‘open heart,’ you’ll truly experience a total awakening from his soft, gentle, and magnificent melodic characteristics. His works are complete dreams you won’t ever want to wake up from. As if you stepped into a distant utopia full of treasures and secrets just waiting to be discovered. His vision is simply cinematic to say the least.

The SoundCloud algorithm has done me a solid once again by introducing me to gallego. With a sparse online presence and under 600 followers on the platform at this time of writing, this producer is about as “sleeper pick” as one can get. That said, he’s got some street cred with releases on Hybrid Trap, Holy Trap, SILKENWOOD, and Aunt Molly Records.

Anyone who says you can’t clip on the master hasn’t heard gallego. This discography is filled with some of the grittiest, crunchiest sounds I’ve heard as of late, tempered with some beautiful future beats renditions in between. Tracks like ‘keep falling!’ have some old-school, experimental beat-maker bounce to them. Transitioning into tracks like ‘bump.’ with their quintessential trap flow solidifies the fact that gallego here knows how to groove regardless of genre. My personal favorite so far has been ‘seda rosa (w/cafeína).’ Something about baile and trap just go together like bread and butter. The instrumentation is crisper than a Lays potato chip, almost to the point of making my ears wince, and I honestly can’t get enough of it. I’m really hoping we get to see gallego spread his roots out in the future with some more label releases. There’s some real potential behind these tracks and I’d love to see him make it big, so go check him out!

Megra randomly landed on my radar a few months back when ‘The Truth’ found its way into my algorithm, with the chaotically cacophonous yet controlled nature of the track startling me in an intriguing way. While the cut is sinister and abrasive, its construction and meticulous production drew me into listening to it on repeat a handful of times, subsequently leading me to further dive into Megra’s discography. The Swedish artist’s arsenal only dates back to about a year ago, but has earned the support of big names such as Fred again.., Four Tet, Ben UFO and more. Never really falling under a single genre, Megra’s sound ranges from trance, to breaks, to house, with his latest EP 1:M showcasing this diversity. For example, ‘Open Up The Door’ is drastically different than ‘The Truth,’ but Megra finds an interesting way to tie these two tracks into one enthralling project. With unofficial releases on SoundCloud boasting the tag trance-step, it’s clear that Megra is in his own lane doing really cool stuff. Keep an eye out.

Nikita, The Wicked

Sometimes I spend hours digging for fresh finds for Focus Five, and sometimes they fall in my lap. This month Nikita, The Wicked was the latter, and I couldn’t be more enthused. I came across the San Francisco artist earlier this week through Fabian Mazur’s 5 Favourite Sounds From July when he highlighted the artist’s newest single ‘Like Me.’ The short clip instantly impressed me and after a deeper dive, I was FAR from disappointed.

With a sound self-described as “finding the beauty in the imperfect, the elegance in the twisted, the grace withing the chaos” it’s not hard to see why we quickly have fallen for his sound. If you’ve been sleeping (like I have) “Like Me” is the perfect starting point. The track fuses sunset-inspired guitar riffs, anthemic lyrics, and a mind-bending descent into the darkness that’s gritty yet stunning. From there the iloveitwhentheyrun EP is a great jumping-off point. Mixing a wide range of bass music with cinematic samples and head-spinning arrangments makes for a thrilling listening experience. “bound in solace” (feat. BLOODY) mixes melancholy with club-ready explosions as gentle rainfall and pensive keys shapeshift into a brutish bass onslaught. If the darkness isn’t your mood, the Conrad-assisted “get my way” is a sultry summer romp that’ll get your temperature rising. Nikita, The Wicked lives up to his name, delivering some of the most exciting bass music I’ve come across in recent time.

Samuel Smoky Purple

One doesn’t simply release one of the best concept EPs of the year and not at least get a mention on FUXWITHIT. Samuel Smoky Purple might have one of the coolest artist names I’ve seen in a while, but he’s making this appearance on Focus Five because he’s just recently released one of my favourite bodies of work of the year. Maybe it’s because I have a soft spot for modular synths, but with ‘Rave Nocturne‘ (released via Trekkie Trax) it was love at first listen. Samuel is indeed a geek of modular synths and rhythm machines, a connoisseur of these instruments with which he spices all his releases and which he also brings live, according to what can be seen on his social accounts. In terms of sheer numbers he can’t be considered prolific, but his ability to transform electrical impulses into tangible emotions and seductive atmospheres is indisputable. As always, quality wins out over quantity.

Our 73rd Volume of Focus Five is here! As always we’re bringing five of our team’s favourite new finds. This month features two UK-based producers taking over in UKG and Trap, a Brooklyn-based artist delivering summery garage vibes, an inventive creator who falls under the broad umbrella of drum and bass, and a producer delivering uncut bass bangers. Check them all out below.

eloquin

What is it about Bristol that allows it to keep pumping out such insane musical talent? The latest in the list of artists I’ve discovered that have emerged from this UK powerhouse is eloquin. Affiliated with the label Primitive UK, eloquin is a virtuoso of 140 dubstep, garage, and breaks. I’m typically pretty picky when it comes to 140, but this man’s beats have been tickling my eardrums in the best way since I stumbled upon him.

His edit of Ojerime’s ‘Give it Up 2 Me’ with Bluff and HODA perfectly encapsulates what I look for in these genres. It’s lowkey, it’s sexy, it’s a mood-setter. The undulating bass in the first two minutes is the kind of beat you’d take a night drive to before the drum breaks kick in and carry the rest of the song. The breaks almost feel like they’re building up to something big, but the quiet fade at the end allows the track to rest on its own as a subtle flex of just vibes. Perfection.

On the other side of the spectrum, eloquin has tracks like ‘Left Right Left,’ the first single from an upcoming album dropping later this year. This track is an exemplary foray into UKG. The basslines are just wicked, accentuated by some upbeat, animated drum breaks and a sole repeating vocal. This one’s a dancefloor heater for sure, as “left, right, left” is where is my ass is going whenever I press play. Keep ’em comin’, eloquin. I need to see you in a club ASAP.

Frosty

Hailing from Hull in the United Kingdom, Frosty‘s sheer perseverance and strength are guiding him down a beautiful path in the arts. His production skills are simply electrifying with every given track released. Swirling around your mind as his sound design and drum creations take over your soul in the best ways possible. Never stopping for a second and delivering a boost of pure joy and confidence.

His remix of CESCO’s ‘Up The Place’ honors the original piece in more ways than one. Turning this groovy and intoxicating original into a dangerous and lethal weapon of mass destruction. From a massive bass lead taking center stage, to those beefy drums knocking on your door, Frosty’s abilities are shown at an all-time high and completely exceeds expectations!

His newest release ‘Bongo’ is something truly special and fun. Finding a home on the infamous label, SUS COLLECTIVE, this original takes you on an absolute wild ride. From those crisp and earth-shattering vocals to metallic percussive leads playing ping pong in the background, it’s a song you can see yourself replaying again and again. Making the underground electronic trap scene proud. We’re stoked to see and hear what he drops in the future!

As I was putting the final touches on our Summer Vibes 24′ playlist last month, I ended up doing a deep into vibey UKG on Spotify and somehow ended up landing on JEV’s ‘AINT EASIER’. The track instantly stood out with beautifully stripped-back soul vocals, sunset-soaked guitar licks, and dancey drums. The questioning vocal is dripping with nostalgia, passion, and an addictive edge. No less than a week later, fellow FUXWITHIT team member Steph hit me up with a pick he described as “nice summer chune” for the playlist. The track was called “DREAMER” and featured a cinematic opening that morphed into smooth and bouncy basslines, mesmerizing female vocals, and playful percussion. Fittingly the track is also from Brooklyn producer JEV. Both tunes landed spots in our summer playlist and JEV quickly climbed the ranks on our radar. If you’re looking for a dancey garage with some heart, look no further than JEV.

KONKAI

Sometimes, I wonder why I still get 2013 big room house in my Spotify Release Radar. Sometimes, I’m amazed by the quality of the (new) talent that Spotify’s auto-shuffle algorithm brings to light. Today, the latter is true, and thanks to this algorithm, I’m happy to share a new discovery with all of our wonderful readers. In the midst of a monotonous work session, I was taken aback when KONKAI‘s ‘Bubble’ first came on. The chaotic rolling synths grabbed my attention immediately, and as the track continued to build I found myself bobbing uncontrollably behind my desk. Consistent with its name, ‘Bubble’ is a sparkling drum and bass tune that’s incredibly uplifting for its entire duration, and after listening to it on repeat a few times over, I knew I had to dive into the rest of KONKAI’s discography. While not super extensive, the artist’s last release did come on Pilot., attesting to the quality of his productions. Falling under the broad umbrella of drum and bass, the artist always masterfully weaves melodies, vocals, and bass in his tracks, and I’m hopeful the recent release of his dual single hints at more to come in the near future.

If you’re a devout bass music geek you might’ve already heard of Radiant, perhaps thanks to one of our weekly FUXWITHITFRIDAYS playlists or in Rendah Mag’s premiere and cyphers. As for me, his name landed on my radar very recently thanks to his latest EP on Saturate, which was suggested to me by several fellow bassheads, from inside the FUXWITHIT’s team and beyond. Titled The Pursuit, this double-track EP is best described as a “smouldering, tenebrous eruption of wonky basslines, and doom bap drums” and acts as Radiant’s grandiose debut release in 2024. The Virginia Beach producer reintroduces his experimental bass sauce but in a more polished and refined technical guise compared to his previous releases. The thick and viscous layer of low frequencies in the title track and the mental synth in ‘Riser Theme‘ pour out of the headphones crystal clear, feeding our heads with pure bass music delight. I have had the pleasure of listening to some of his unreleased tracks and I can guarantee that this trend will carry on in the upcoming releases. Be sure to follow Radiant and keep an eye on his next moves!
