 I’ve been making UKG/Garage/House for as long as I’ve been making hip hop/EDM that I’m mainly known for. Just came naturally, what mainly drew me to the genre was simply living in New Zealand. NZ has a huge UK influence of music specially DnB. My goal was just to make something that I enjoy and feel happy first before anyone else.  Originally the song was named ‘Charged Up’ then I added the vocal samples in. Now how the “OG” and “Hanging with the Killas” vocals came about, is really that I’ve been producing for about 14 years, and the message is meant to be a confidence booster. I’m lowkey, humble, but also I know that I got the sauce. I feel like I can hang/keep up with the best! Not on any arrogant vibes, I just believe in my art and myself 110%.”

Originally the song was gonna be called ‘Leapfrog’ and go on my next project I’ve been working on, but as the tape has evolved it didn’t really fit anywhere so it went to the vault. I imagine a frog jumping from each section of the song and those sections feel really springy and bouncy to me lol.”

I’m in a very inspired spot with producing right now where I’m listening to so much, and trying to translate things I like about different subgenres and sound styles into one cohesive work. If you’ve been longing for the golden era of electronic trap music – a time when tracks were simpler, more heavily rap-inspired, and straight-up slapped,  then we’ve got something special for you. ‘We Go Harder’ sees Buzz Junior taking trap back to its roots in all the right ways. For some reason, positive things happen for my music career around my birthday every year so I made a point to finish like 12 WIPs this year and ‘We Go Harder’ was one of them.
