Achieving peak malicious capabilities, ‘Eternity’ uses “forever” as a dark, threatening vocal sample right before the drop to warn you of the skeleton spirit about to grab you firmly by the ankles and whisk you away to the underworld. This track seems to be a message from the abyss, a desperate spirit reaching out seemingly due to a longing that is keeping them trapped in the astral plane. That’s only until you experience the deluge of bass, then you know it’s a trap to get you roped into a false sense of security before you’re back-handed by thick wubs. The first drop would have been fantastic on its own, utilizing fills that achieve a sense of movement not unlike a rocket taking off from launch. The second drop is in a league of its own however, rounding out everything from the first drop and adding dense cracks that sound like satan is cracking his whip over your head while headbanging. Point blank, this track hits incredibly hard and sounds fantastic doing it.

With the option to grow in any direction he chooses, Helios has a rare opportunity to carve out his own path as a frequency manipulator, and fans of experimental and heavy bass music should definitely keep him close on their radar.

While the last few months have been unusually quiet for the talented Australian producer, he assures us the necessary break has only allowed himself to dig deeper into his creative desires to further shape the future of the AVANCE brand.

“I felt that I started to get lost with myself creatively and mentally, always making rash decisions with what I was producing and how I wanted to reflect towards others. I decided to take some time off and figure things out, I now feel I have truly found myself,” he shares in anticipation of the branding and stylistic changes that have resulted from the necessary self-seclusion.

Although tracks such as ‘Death Ray’ thoroughly depict AVANCE’s ability to navigate an aggressive style with ease, this new direction for the project will dive headfirst into darker, bass-clad soundscapes, which will be personified with an aptly fitting ominous digital characterization.

“The entity behind me I call Odious, he is an illustration that I use as representation and reminder that I will always be myself and always have the authenticity in my sound that people have grown to know over the years. He channels any negativity I may have into the darker, more aggressive music you might hear from me…you’ll see him from time to time,” AVANCE reflects regarding the visual prong of his next chapter.
