P.Keys has quickly become one of our favourite new rappers of 2014. He garnered our attention earlier this summer when he ripped some of the hottest electonic beats with ease. From Kaytranada’s ‘Not To Play With’ and Mr Carmack’s ‘This Morning Was Funny’ to Troyboi’s ‘Forgive Me Not’ and Hucci’s ‘Realm’ every one impressed. With his buzz strong, the DC based artist is here with a fresh EP to prove his worth. Featuring original production from Moving Castle’s Hunt For The Breeze, Manila Killa & AObeats, plus Royal, Trey Lewis, Rowdy Major and longtime collaborator Kief Ledger, the beats are insane and the bars follow suit. The 9 track project drifts through a variety of moods and themes from breakneck party bangers (‘F WT U HRD’, ‘Dirty Rotten’), to tales of heartbreak (‘Book Of Life’) and wavey vibes (‘Lo Key’). Lyrically it doesn’t disappoint with a sprinkling of tight wordplay throughout and his flow moves over the unorthodox beats effortlessly. One thing that really stands out is the disregard for typical song structure and ability to let the music and creativity flow. This is best displayed on ‘Hear Me’. The track only contains one verse from P.Keys and is bookended by a beautiful future bass opening and close. The approach really allows the listener to get into the feel and makes the single verse that much more impactful. The EP proves that P.Keys is one of, if not, the best rappers combining hip-hop and electronic music. Stream Nobody below and be sure to grab the free download. If you aren’t familiar, Moving Castle is an artist collective featuring some of the hottest producers right now including: Vices, Yung Wall Street, AObeats, Hunt For The Breeze and Jailo, just to name a few. Their highly anticipated Volume 3 compilation is chalked full of emotive, futuristic vibes. Early standout tracks include a massive remix of Schoolboy Q’s ‘Studio’, a stunning original from Jailo & AObeats and WRLD’s vibey rework of the Stardust classic ‘Music Sounds Better With You’. Majid Jordan- A Place Like This (Hunt for the Breeze Edit)

Hunt For the Breeze is a name that has quickly piqued my interest. I hadn’t really checked him out him until the release of Moving Castle Vol 002, but as soon I heard a few seconds of ‘Transmission Loop’ I knew it was time to take note. After clicking through his SoundCloud I realized that he was a seriously a dope producer and also learned that he was one of the founders of Moving Castle (a collective of some of the hottest producers out right now). His latest release is an edit of Majid Jordan’s infectious new single ‘A Place Like This’. The rework is a bit grittier than the original with the addition of some hard hitting drums. ‘A Place Like This’ and Hunt For The Breeze are both about to blow up, so you might as well check them out now.
