Whether it be producing a new track in an Uber ride with his best friend Juelz or selling out shows across the world, genre-defying producer Ekali has been taking over the music scene since his very first debut show in Vancouver, BC. Consistently portraying his sound to draw influence from both old and new experiences which resonates during his live performances. Listeners feel his utmost dedication reflected through his music, but the real beauty of Nathan Shaw is his effort to support local producers and artists globally. By continuing to motivate all those all around him with his positive outlook on life, Ekali has teamed up with Illenium on a breathtaking single ‘Hard To Say Goodbye’ featuring Chloe Angelides.

Combining elements of both Ekali and Illenium’s signature sound, melodic chords begin to flow immaculately as listeners are brought into a state of euphoria. As Angelide’s powerful vocals shine bright, it may just convince you to “stay one more night.” Saying Goodbye to the ones we love is never easy, but these artists provide the antidote containing heartfelt lyrics and a vibrant melody. With a blend of guitar chords, lo-fi and stunning vocals which echo throughout the single, these artists have just crafted a beautiful masterpiece that is here to stay for an eternity.

With great anticipation, Ekali has just announced he will be kicking off a huge tour of North America in early 2020. Full tour dates below.

A flick through the tune catalogue of New Zealand’s bass/trap creator Ian Munro and it’s hard to not see what an extraordinary talent he has. With projects for the likes of Quality Goods regularly reaching the masses, make sure you don’t overlook wicked remixes for the likes of Mt Eden, UZ and QUIX.

His most recent single ‘Right Now’ ft. Yuneer Gainz can be checked out here, and give his 5 track Floor Fillers selection a listen below.

MEMBA & Mothica – ‘Chasing Light’

The power and emotion in this track gets me every time. It’s not shy of sounding too ‘pop-y’ and it’s not shy of sounding too weird. MEMBA have been killing it recently.

Taska Black – ‘We Would Never Do’ (feat. Nevve)

I’m a big fan of what Taska does – and this track perfectly combines the energy of bass music and the musicality and emotion that it often lacks.

Rich The Kid – ‘Listen Up’ (prod. LMC & Danny Wolf)

Huge shoutout to the homie LMC representing NZ with this placement. Best track off the album in my opinion.

Illenium – ‘Leaving’ (AWAY Remix)

I have a lot of respect for anyone who does things differently. AWAY’s latest releases have been nothing short of impeccable and this remix is no exception.

Lemay – ‘Over Me’ (feat. Maize)

One of the more overlooked songs on his EP – this one is just too weird not to love. The rhythm and the synths shouldn’t work, but they do.

Songs like ‘White Satin’ or their Blue Foundation remix were the soundtrack of my late teens. Y’know, back in the UKF days! This remix is special to me in that it represents coming a full circle. I’ve always admired both Zeds Dead and Illenium. I’ve been producing for the last 5 or so years of my life so it’s really cool to see that they’re on board with what I’m making,” he tells us.

The release is part of the Where The Wild Things Are Remixes EP which drops tomorrow (3/9). We are ecstatic to be able offer you the exclusive first listen of Cozway’s remix a day early! With the remix Cozway retains the anthematic vocals from the original but cliff dives into the wilderness with the drops. It’s fierce, exhilarating, exotic and enriching. It’s venturing through the jungle, off the beaten path with the love of your life. Coming face-to-face with fear in various forms and overcoming it all in epic fashion. It’s a 5 minute adventure that you’ll never forget and will be dying to relive. Thankfully for you, you don’t have to cop a ticket, you can just hit replay and relive it over and over.

2018 has barely begun, and we’re already getting announcements for this year’s round of festivals! In Ontario, the first festival out the door is Kitchener’s Ever After Music Festival.

Taking place June 8th-10th at Bingemans, this year’s lineup has amusement park rides, a waterpark, and a slew of top-notch artists sure to unite bassheads and festivalgoers across the GTA (and beyond). All things combined, it’s set to be an entire weekend of music, fun, as well as potential neckbraces the following Monday.

Last year was well known for its back-to-back-to-back set, which featured Cookie Monsta, 12th Planet, and Funtcase. The good news is that such an experience will be making a return this year – what’s more is that this year will feature an additional 7 back-to-back sets on top of that:
–Flux Pavilion & Doctor P;
–Midnight T & Megalodon;
–Excision & Datsik (Sunday’s headliners);
-and Zomboy & Skism, to name a few.

Pure dubstep/Riddim aside, there’s also going to be features such as Hydee for some solid dnb action, Space Jesus & Liquid Stranger bringing some glorious space music, and Sullivan King, who knows the intricacies of the guitar like the back of his hand.

Those who are more into the house side of electronic music will be pleased to hear that Saturday will feature some of the best in the genre! Claude VonStroke will be headlining on Saturday, along with a wide variety of variations of house. From French bass house sensation Dombresky, to the return of Daniel Portman, whose groovy set was much-talked about after last year’s festivities, to AC Slater bringing his Night Bass vibe to the grounds, there’s an entire afternoon of shuffling and g-stepping for those itching to do so.

There’s also a petition going around to help justify sound levels & curfew for the festival, which have proposed changes after last year caused a surge in noise complaints on the final evening. Considering how much energy everybody put into the Sunday closers, Zeds Dead, it’s not all too surprising, though – yet one can only hope that the residents and festivalgoers can come to an acceptable agreement.

Tickets for Ever After can be bought here – don’t sleep on this though, since this year’s already looking very promising! Take a look at the full lineup below.

Toronto bass legends Zeds Dead have teamed up with Denver’s own Illenium to come together for a rather surreal collaboration! ‘Where The Wild Things Are’ is a harmonious tune which touches on the quality production points of both artists, in a manner which will take you to another land.

Fans of either (or both) artist(s) will come to recognize Illenium’s graceful, serene atmosphere, well-complemented by the triumphant and soulful vocals singing throughout; on the other hand, Zeds Dead’s signature, hollowed-out bass style hits hard during the drops. A special mention goes to the moment just before the second drop, where the pitch progression is executed in such a way that you can’t help but feel the hype overflowing inside of you, right before everything takes off. If the book/movie gets a remake, there’s no reason this couldn’t be included in the soundtrack!

This is sure to receive a lot of attention, especially with ZD’s Deadbeats tour currently underway. Check out the new collab below, and let your mind soar to a faraway place!

Flume is one of the most intriguing genre-bending musicians, fusing electronic, trap, hip hop, house, pop, dubbing it future classic, and winning a Grammy.

It has been over a year since Flume released ‘Skin’, and inspired not only many fans with his genre-crossing style but also other modern artists. On April 7th Flume shared some inspiring remixes of his Grammy winning single as well as ‘Say It’ featuring Tove Lo, and ‘Never Be Like You’ featuring Kai, on his new album Skin: The Remixes

Some of the tacks to give a deep listen are some of FUXWITHIT’s favorites. The first of the collection is Baauer‘s high energy, and plucky take on ‘Numb and Getting Colder’, which is technically mystifying with its alien-pulsations, and eerie resonating vocals that melt into a delightfully disturbing display like a exo-planet’s freak show. That’s only the surface on this pool of talent.

Another to delve into is Waver Racer‘s redone ‘Never Be Like You’ featuring Kai Wave Racer’s version bursts with bubbling bass, as dramatic breaks breathe new life into Kai’s vocals. Sparkly synths and wubbing bass definitely make for a funky-futuristic experience.

Fellow Aussie and past collaborator, Anna Lunoe’s ‘Say It’ is also a stand out on this list. This is a fiery track that spells with synths, and powerful break downs. Dicing the vocals, mashing them into the rhythm of the song, Lunoe’s industrial style electrifies in this emotional rendition. Also worth mentioning is Illenium’s remix of ‘Say It’ which has gotten a lot of love online since its release a few months back. It is is billowing, voluminous, enveloping, and down right dope. Each drop is like a cascade of powdery snow, a gradual avalanche, that carves its way to the verse.
