New York City based artist, Jaenga unleashed a monster this week. His new piece ‘Rain’ is out now on Deadbeats. Jaenga is force to reckoned with, captivating his audience with deep atmospheres and violent leads. ‘Rain’ is a fun and exciting new adventure. It holds many qualities we’ve come to know and love within a dubstep track. From the spacious and melodic introduction, to the hard hitting chorus, there are never any dull moments. A surprise lurking every corner.

Right at the beginning, we hear an airy pitched vocal. Accompanying the gritty bass-line to set the calming tone. Giving us a taste for what’s to come. Then, out of no where, he introduces himself with an addicting and catchy drop consisting of a distorted lead playing an anthem sounding melody. Creating excitement and hype for the listener. Not to mention the impactful drums to top it all off. After, we hear a magical and light sounding arp in the background to complete the breakdown’s form. Along with another pitched vocal. Setting the stage again for the next chorus.

The second drop holds similar qualities as the first but with a little more movement. Hearing individual vocal samples to break up the rhythm. As well as some brass frequencies underneath. Keeping the song fresh and funky. Finally, Jaenga leaves us off with a wide melodic ending. Making us want more.

‘Rain’ is a beautiful tribute to the dubstep genre and Jaenga’s style. Incorporating lovable elements to form one big anthem.

Bass music protagonist, Jaenga has teamed up with Conrank for a deadly piece. Their new single ‘Tell Man What’ is out now on Wakaan. These musicians mean business whenever they create art. Jaenga continues to amaze his audience with his heavy sound design and hard-hitting drums. He’s caught the ears of many including legendary duo, Zeds Dead. If you love heavy bass in your face, we recommend checking out his past work. Don’t sleep on Conrank either because he has proven to be versatile in the underground bass scene. From releasing on labels such as Circus Records, Wakaan and Bassrush, he’s made quite the name for himself. The song also includes powerful vocals from Grime artist, Yizzy.

‘Tell Man What’ is a fun and intense ride. It’s a roller coaster of hyped up energy and heaviness. They waste no time in bringing in the heat right away. The arrangement within the song is particularly interesting. It includes a four on the floor vibe in the beginning. Making the listener start moving instantly. With the buildup increasing, you know they’re about to unleash a monster. Right after, the drop kicks in and blows you away. It consists of two destructive leads cutting through boundaries. The bass underneath the arrangement is dirty and satisfying to the listener’s ears. After, the breakdown comes back in with a wonderful house beat accompanying Yizzy’s vocals. Making the listener continue to feel engaged and one with their song. The second half holds the same characteristics as the first but with a different arrangement and rhythm. It’s an impactful switch to keep the track fresh and energetic.

Overall, ‘Tell Man What’ is a solid tune in many ways. You can tell these two bass wizards put the time and effort to create a memorable piece for years to come. We’re excited to hear what they bring next. Make sure to go support them by streaming their new single on Spotify, SoundCloud and more.

Since Jaenga‘s introduction to the world through the Toulambi EP late last year, the New York-based producer has made waves in the underground bass scene with eclectic releases true to his style.

Since Jaenga‘s introduction to the world through the Toulambi EP late last year, the New York-based producer has made waves in the underground bass scene with eclectic releases true to his style. Today, Jaenga returns to his roots while staying in line with his vision with his sophomore project titled the Primitive EP.

“Writing the ‘Primitive’ EP took me back to the roots of underground NY dubstep culture. Pushing boundaries and starting movements, employing simplistic vocals, and heavy rolling bass lines,” Jaenga states about his new project. With ‘Feel So Good’ and ‘Mind Shaker,’ the versatile bass producer embodies this old school flavour with ease, evoking a sense of nostalgia as soon as the lead synths hit, while the addition of the poignant samples repeating the track titles further this sentiment of the early days of dubstep. As the drops come to light, listeners are immediately transported to 2010 as Jaenga is not overbearing or too complex with his ideas yet he executes the melodiousness and wobbly nature of the tracks with ease. Finally, with ‘On To The Next One,’ listeners are brought back to the present with modern freeform ideas bringing the project to a close.

Sure to impress all fans of bass music, the Primitive EP is Jaenga at his finest. Don’t miss it below!
