We’re 8 days out from the release of Big Sean’s Dark Sky Paradise and this is exactly what we needed. The second single from the upcoming album just dropped and it’s great. You can forget about bopping and catching a wave to this one. This ballad features Sean, Kanye West and John Legend over a somber piano melody. The last verse is dedicated to Sean’s grandmother and though it would be nice to hear a new verse from Kanye, Ye and Legend lend their voices on the hook – and that’s as much as we need to hear from the two. Big Sean doesn’t sacrifice the bars for an inspirational song, this song is another reason why I think the Detroit native will have a great 2015. Great song Sean, can’t wait for the album.

Let it burn. We’ve been doing this series for a while now and we’re glad you, our readers, enjoy it. For this weeks #tbt we’re revisiting a track from The Legendary Roots Crew’s album “How I Got Over”. The track is titled “The Fire” and features soulful R&B singer John Legend.

To be perfectly honest, the track really does speak for itself, so I’ll keep it short. This track is uplifting and motivating all in itself. The beat follows a hard hitting boom-boom bap pattern. The keys bring brightness to this almost dark and heavy track. Black Thought absolutely kills this. Every bar is actually amazing and incredibly motivating. John Legend on the hook is a great fit and it all comes together perfectly. Have a listen and let us know if you FUXWITHIT.
