“Beautiful, heavy, bass music with some fiddle over the top” is how Josh Teed perfectly describes the sounds he puts forth from his consciousness into being. Mixing a classical instrumental feel with new-age noise, he’s found a comfortable nook in the collection of artists pushing boundaries and bounding forward, unbridled by outward expectations. His production path has led up to this immense moment, the release of his debut album Emergent, a lush, thought-provoking soundscape that is a true sonic voyage from start to finish. We’ve had the great pleasure of premiering ‘Sidewinder,’ a fiery collaboration with Baltimore based halftime dealer Siska, right here for your listening pleasure on FUXWITHIT.

From the opening notes of ‘Sidewinder,’ you’ll be immediately gripped by the curiosity-spiking ambiance. With the strings sitting pristinely over the top of grimy undulations, you’ll feel as if you’ve been transported to some far-away land, an adventure eagerly waiting to begin. As you go further down the rabbit hole, the energy only increases, dilating your pupils to little saucers as your body gets high off the frequencies. This piece is beautiful, full-bodied, and wholly unique. The last drop is a fitting end to ‘Sidewinder,’ as it cascades deliciously fierce bass lines right into your being. This is yet another example of Josh Teed’s ear-pleasing style that incorporates an eclectic mix of sounds into something fresh and full of style. Emergent from a strictly musical perspective is a smash hit, and should leave fans eagerly awaiting what this talented young artist has coming next. Check out ‘Sidewinder’ for yourself below!

Josh Teed’s 2019 has been one of intense growth, with showcasing his eclectic blend of melodic, heavy bass and immensely beautiful fiddle being his target focus. Incorporating true instrumental talent with a keen ear for production is a deadly combo, and one that he is no stranger to. Sharing the stage for many of his performances this year with the aid of a live band pushed his performances over the top, giving all in attendance a hybrid experience of the utmost quality. Now, he’s coupled his efforts with a man that has had many years of fame on social media for his musical keyboarding videos, Jason Leech, who’s been performing stellar recreations and original routines of artists like Bassnectar, Griz, and LSDREAM to raucous applause. We’ve had the pleasure of premiering their first collaboration ‘Hinode’, one of two tracks on Teed’s latest Duality EP, here on FUXWITHIT to set a vibe for all your Black Friday shopping bumps.

‘Hinode’ begins with an airy, peaceful soundscape that immediately entwines you with its tranquility, yet also boasts a powerful sense of adventure that only grows stronger as it builds. The initial drops starts your romp through this sonic thoroughfare, with the buttery smooth flow not unlike wind chimes on a blustery day. Each sound has a satisfying pop to it, and each builds satisfyingly on the next. Leech’s keys mixed in with Teed’s bassy, wubby elements creates a serious, yet mysterious vibe about it that leans more towards a sense of wonder than it does fear.

If there’s anything to be said about ‘Hinode’ and Teed’s Dualism EP as a whole, it’s that they are an absolute joy to the listen to, and with this much prowess at a young age, his forthcoming productions should be an instant play when you see them pop up in your news feed. For now, check out ‘Hinode’ for yourself below!

New Hampshire based violinist and bass music producer Josh Teed is a man with astounding amounts of musical versatility. Combining classical elements with all the best aspects of contemporary productions, this is an artist that has honed in on his own truly individual sound. As of late, he’s been galavanting around the festival circuit with the support of his live band, further pushing his unique melding of styles. Today, we’ve had the pleasure of premiering his spookiest track so far, ‘Ominous,’ a piece that perfectly matches the ever increasing Halloween aesthetic this time of year.

Many people nowadays don’t actually listen to a song all the way through in one play. Personally, I tend to skip to the build up of a track to get the meat and potatoes of the piece, sidestepping the introduction almost entirely. ‘Ominous’ firmly changed my mind about this mindset, creating an airy, foreboding soundscape that doesn’t command, but rather firmly entices your full attention from the opening notes. The pacing of this track is easy to lose yourself in, with no parts feeling rushed and each idea becoming fully fleshed-out before transitioning to the next. Tracks that have extended intros sometimes have the listener wishing they’d just get to the drop, but it works exceedingly well in this case, feeling like you’re experiencing a complete adventure from start to finish. The build is exceptionally timed, and the drop’s layers are crisp, diverse, and a true pleasure to listen to repeatedly.

To maintain a consistent mood throughout a piece is a tricky feat to accomplish, but Teed masterfully executes this in ‘Ominous’. Making you think you really could be at the beginning of your own horror movie, this latest production could readily become a fall favorite amongst fans of everything that go bump in the night. Make sure to check out ‘Ominous’ for yourself below!
