With summer coming to a close, Sable Valley made sure to end theirs off with a bang. Sable Valley Summer Vol. 3 is the third installment of their series. Highlighting some of the best of the best within the scene while continuing to drive high energy to their audience. And what a stacked lineup they have for us this year! Like each of their compilations, they’ve recruited a few of their alumni while highlighting brand new faces! Artists such as saka, LYNY, Squired and more have all joined the roster in this year’s installment. Creating individual pieces that will easily lift you into the air with pure amounts of heat. Showcasing absolute anthems from each musician while opening a new chapter for the label itself.

Sable Valley Summer Vol. 3 is a burst of static electricity. Running through your body in the form of powerful sound design, unique arrangements, and cinematic visions from each track. Every artist showcased what makes their tones and vision memorable while honoring the Sable Valley name. From a futuristic atom bomb from RL Grime, Hex Cougar, and fknsyd, to a mind-boggling journey from Ivoryghost, the surprises are endless throughout this wild ride. The platform promises to be “For Creators, By Creators” allowing the use of their music royalty-free. Dime A Dozen sets a high bar for the new venture with 15 tracks from some of the hottest artists out. Just a Gent & rando kick it off with a dreamy, sun-filled, moving gem titled ‘wake up.’ capshun & PRYZMS collide on ‘Sense’ for a gritty yet bouncy banger that’s sure to go off in DJ sets.

juuku and Dim Mak were frankly a couple I didn’t expect to see. Not that there’s anything wrong with it, it’s just that I’ve always seen these two names in two separate universes. However, it is always nice to be surprised, especially when the surprise in question is absolutely a welcome one. juuku has set some high standards for his fans the past year, with more than a dozen tracks released and a debut EP crowned by one of the year’s most beautiful bass singles in my opinion, ‘beneath us‘. To lead the way in 2022, he gave us more interesting material under the form of a little treat released via New Noise, Dim Mak’s discovery imprint that bi-weekly provides listeners with a free download (and also copyright free) single. With less than three minutes of running time, ‘Sunshine’ does not have the ambition to be a piece that digs deep into worldbuilding or that brings the listener to a far-reaching journey. It goes from zero to one hundred in just a matter of seconds.

Energy. Pure raw euphoric energy. ‘Sunshine’ is an adrenaline rush that hits you from head to toe like an electric shock. It doesn’t only recharge you but literally sends you into overload. By saying that the intro and break are totally secondary I’ll probably sound like I’m actually criticizing this track, but instead, I think this barely undermines the overall experience. ‘Sunshine’ goes straight to the point without wasting time and there’s nothing wrong with that. These mesmerizing synths that I personally love so much (if you dig these sounds too, be sure to check ‘beneath us’) erupt from the headphones like a raging torrent and sweep everything away for those 171 seconds. Everyone, even those who prefer extended cuts like me, sometimes have the need to dance around, free to the beat of a simple banger. ‘Sunshine’ has the mission to give us a little moment of elated escapism and it totally delivers it.

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/1182015598″ params=”color=#ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true&visual=true” width=”100%” height=”300″ iframe=”true” /]

The prolific yet enigmatic producer is back with more tunes before the end of the year! For his latest single, juuku brings us ‘burning.’ The artist did the year off with Forbes-premiered album warmth, so maybe ‘burning’ a teaser for the heat we’ll be hearing in 2022. The title is definitely representative of the track—quite a slow burner. The word “burning”…

For his latest single, juuku brings us ‘burning.’ The artist did the year off with Forbes-premiered album warmth, so maybe ‘burning’ a teaser for the heat we’ll be hearing in 2022.

The title is definitely representative of the track—quite a slow burner. The word “burning” is sung throughout the intro, only getting to the first drop around the 45-second mark. But it’s well worth the wait once you get there. juuku is a master at creating theatric experiences through sound, and ‘burning’ is no different. Utilizing glimmering keys and oscillating synths to guide listeners through the song’s evocative melodies, juuku once again resonates with our feelings and gives us insight into what it means to be an artist.

juuku says, “𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘮𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘺 𝘣𝘦𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴. 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘰𝘳 𝘣𝘢𝘥 𝘪 𝘢𝘮 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘪𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘭, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘪𝘯 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘪𝘵.”

Just this year, the enigmatic producer announced he’ll be supporting Slow Magic on tour, released a 53-piece NFT collection, and his well-received debut EP warmth was premiered on Forbes a few months ago. Now, juuku is back for more with his newest release ‘I Tried.’

The anonymous artist’s newest tune displays his struggle with pushing through insecurities. He expresses, “𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘢 𝘱𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘮𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘪 𝘧𝘦𝘭𝘵 𝘪 𝘥𝘪𝘥 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘢 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘺𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰. 𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘴 𝘪 𝘴𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘭𝘺 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘱𝘪𝘦𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘺𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘰 𝘬𝘦𝘦𝘱 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘮𝘺 𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧 𝘥𝘰𝘶𝘣𝘵.”

‘I Tried’ cinematically showcases his internal turbulence through bombastic future bass drops, glitchy synths, and dynamic drums that contrast spectacularly with the song’s high-pitched, expressive vocals. juuku effectively builds up to the track’s climax with scintillating keys that pull at the heartstrings.

The producer really knows how to connect with the listener and continues to secure himself as a versatile artist through multiple mediums. You’ll definitely relate to juuku’s ‘I Tried,’ so be sure to check it out below!

As the world crumbled around us, juuku was there to pick up the pieces and provide peace through his soothing releases. Earlier this year, the enigmatic producer dropped the EP’s title track ‘warmth’, ‘leaving’, and ‘just lost’ featuring Manila Killa. Now, juuku’s debut EP warmth has arrived via Moving Castle, and we’re super excited we get to finally experience the whole project together.

Although juuku is known as quite an anonymous artist, he took time to reveal parts of himself in an exclusive interview with us. So while you’re taken on the sonic odyssey that is warmth, get personal with juuku and learn his inspirations, ways to recharge, and what we can expect from him for the rest of 2021.

Thank you for taking time out of your day to talk with us! First and foremost, how are you?

Thank you so much for having me!! I’m doing great. Just got over the most random bout of depression this week. feeling mentally and spiritually recharged. Made a song this week and I’m really excited about how it’s coming out!

We can’t wait to hear it! I also have to ask, how do you feel now that you got your first dose of the vaccine?

Tbh I feel good! I slept like a baby and woke up with a sore shoulder. But other than that I’ve been feeling great. heard that second dose is a heater though lol

I read in your interview with Saint Audio that you started doing your own visuals because you felt like you could see what was happening in the song. Even at first glance from the titles of your EP—starting with ‘arrival’ and ending with ‘departure’—it seems like you’re curating a journey for your listeners. Can you tell us more about what you’re hoping we experience while listening to warmth?

Yeah! I wanted this EP to feel like a destination separate from the world you live in- a place you can visit and collect and discover parts of yourself. And when the moment you need to return to your own world, you’ll bring the parts of you that you’ve found along the way.

So your identity’s a mystery right now, but on March 6th you tweeted “𝘪 𝘤𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘪𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺 𝘢 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘥𝘢𝘺.” Now that live events are coming back soon, are you planning on staying anonymous?

Yes and honestly, that’s something I’m still trying to figure that out- I’m probably going to do some kind of silhouette paired with some kind of face covering. No full-on helmet though bc they get really hot lol.

Being anonymous doesn’t stop you from sharing small parts of your life though. Sometimes you’ll tell us you’re walking your dogs or showing us nature videos… What other ways do you like to recharge, especially after making such emotionally centric music?

Watching any shows/anime/movies that put me in my feelings. Making visuals also really helps me recharge in an interesting way too since my creative output is fully focused on the visual aspect than the usual auditory aspect. Also traveling is also such a huge one but I haven’t been able to do that (along with everyone else!) since quarantine.

On another note, for someone who makes such soft and romantic sounds, why do you like shooting games so much? LOL

Lmaoo right? I guess it’s my outlet and clears my headspace a lot. what’s weird is I’ll play in the morning before a long studio or render session and it’ll get me 10000% ready to start creating. I have no idea why or how that works. Maybe it just empties out all the non-creative energy that I have.

Okay, so you made 2 tracks a month last year, which is super ambitious and admirable, considering everything that’s been going on. Do you have any big goals for 2021?

Thank you ♡ honestly the EP was the main goal of this year and it’s such an amazing experience to see it manifest and grow (s/o moving castle and the team) and the collab with Manila Killa was another huge goal too. For the rest of the year, I’d love to get another big collab under my belt and do a proper debut live show (if safety permits).

Is there anything else that you want to talk about that I didn’t ask about?

Just wanted to say thanks again for having me! You’re such an amazing interviewer <3 and I hope you and everyone enjoy this little creation I’m about to put out :)

Thank you again for chatting! Be safe and congrats on being microchipped! (I’m not an anti-vaxxer, I am also vaccinated)

‘warmth’ starts off with silky strings and soothing vocals that gently guide you through an electrifying future bass drop, right before bringing you back down to earth. Anticipating what’s to come next, the listener is drawn into the second drop, which goes down just as smoothly as the first.

2020 was a big year for juuku. With 22 releases under the mysterious producer’s belt, we can confidently say he’s not going to slow down in 2021. If ‘warmth’ is just a sneak peek of what we’ll be hearing from juuku’s EP, you know we’ll be waiting patiently to hear the full record. The best part? He even dropped some dope visuals to go along with the track. Check out the video and listen to the track below.
