There’s no doubt that Partica is a collective that snatched our hearts ever since they came onto the scene. When everyone said that trap was outdated, the supergroup and record label pushed on, giving a platform to some of the best producers in the underground bass scene. For Halloween, they did something super special and brought together 23 incredible artists for a mega collab called ‘FRANKENSTEIN’ and everyone in the scene should give it a listen.

I imagine it’s super difficult to bring TWENTY-THREE artists together to finish a track. They got Dabow, capshun, So Sus, and episcool, to name a few. Even label heads Gurf and Runnit make an appearance. Just run through the list yourself and see the undeniable talent. Dabow himself shares on Twitter, “partica got us all together to create the biggest collab I’ve been part of. and it bangs super hard. friday.” Partica really did that. And the, “it’s Patricia,” vocal sample towards the end was really playful and fun.

Onto my personal critique—and let’s preface this by me admitting that collaborations rarely do it for me, but I tried to keep my own bias aside and listen to ‘FRANKENSTEIN’ for what it is—and it’s a good track. However, while there are some great trap builds, for a song marketed as ‘trap 2’, its drops and most memorable moments are on the dubstep and experimental bass realm. The song that has some of the best trap producers right now, so that part was a bit disappointing for me. Additionally, for a Halloween track, the spooky factor could have been turned up a notch. The intro was haunting, but once it hit the 30-second mark, I forgot it was a Halloween track until the “Frankenstein” sample came in.

I also get that the real Frankenstein is having so many different producers bring a different part in to create a mammoth of a track, though. And overall, it’s cohesive and a great tune. The artwork is also flames. So listen to the Partica mega collab ‘FRANKENSTEIN’ for yourselves below and let us know your thoughts!

Heating up your Summer vacation, the team over at Partica Artist Group have finally dropped their anticipated HEATWAVE compilation album. Released in two parts called Side A and Side B they’ve gathered only the best of the best within the Partica vision to join forces for this monumental step. Artists such as golden child, Runnit, Scullion and more have each collaborated with their good friends to create some of the most forward-driven electronic music to date.

Ever since the beginning, Partica has been a huge symbol of inspiration and hope for many up-and-comers. Their impressive roster of gems have molded their brand into something purely remarkable and memorable. Helping producers out no matter the skill level. Always putting their love for the community first. And with this brand new chapter, they’ve yet again taken over the underground by storm. As well as honoring their incredible discography of musicians.

The HEATWAVE compilation is the next best step for the future of groovy bass music. Focusing on pure rhythm and sound design, each collaboration has its own distinct features from the highlighted artists. Adding signature textures we’ve all come to notice and adore. From funky arrangements, whimsical sample selection and out-of-this-world sound design, you’ll start to notice who these hard-working souls are as humans as well as creative individuals. Each track is carefully formed and taken care of with passion.

The unpredictability from just the names on here alone sets the bar quite high. But it’s easy to say their efforts and unique work ethics have done themselves and the Partica brand justice. You’ll find yourself bopping your head or moving your feet through every second of this album. Creating a lifelong and positive feeling you’ll cherish forever. Bravo to this incredible community and its artists. We’re excited to hear where they go next. But for now, make sure to go support these icons by streaming The HEATWAVE compilation everywhere via Partica Artist Group.

Have you ever find yourself thinking that sometimes neither a good pair of headphones, nor a very good sound system are quite enough to wholly relish certain tracks? When I stumble across compositions so detailed and masterfully crafted such as this new Kizer album, I feel the need to experience those vibes with all my body. Try to think about what it would be like to transform an album into a multisensory experience. Imagine being in an acoustically treated room, with temperature and atmospheric conditions synced with the music and, of course, a VR viewer to properly enjoy the visuals.

I’m ready to bet that Off Beat Still Vibin’ would be for sure one hell of an experience. And honestly, there’s nothing that could convince me of the contrary since in its 25 minutes there’s so much inventiveness packed in that could be enough to create a whole short movie out of it. This album is an authentic artistic performance sculpted in sound by Kizer, that offers us a different adventure with each one track. For example, the whipping sounds of ‘Formulate’ evoke to me the impetuous driving winter wind in the icy polar expanses. With its muscularity as well as its contemplative breaks, ‘Don’t Forget’ reminds me of the mountains among which I live; so spectacular and majestic to admire but so full of pitfalls hidden among their imposing sides. The sound pulsations of ‘Press Play’ instead, bring desert landscapes to my mind, where the unbearable heat of the sun blurs the boundary between reality and hallucination. ‘Bleed’ is such an intricate explosion of synth, groove, and low frequencies that it reminds me of the Etna when it shows all its mighty power. If you are hoping to find a moment of pause in this 10-track journey, I have to warn you. You’ll rest only in the last chapter, ’11 11,’ where Kizer unexpectedly dabbled in the creation of a mellow lo-fi beat.

My advice is this. Take half an hour out of your day in a dark room to fully savor the mastery of Kizer’s debut album. You won’t probably experience the album in the same way I did, but certainly it will be an intense escapism adventure that you won’t regret. Stream Off Beat Still Vibin’ below or on your favorite platform here.

“Fuck The Police!” The familiar vocals from Ice Cube on the NWA classic are both unnerving and powerful on jordnmoody & kizer‘s new bass anthem ‘ftp.’ Unnerving because they’re sampled from a track over 30 years old and we’re still experiencing the same issues. On the other hand, they serve as a powerful call to action and unshakeable stand against the corrupt and problematic police departments that have upheld systematic racism and injustice. They are the driving force in ‘ftp’ as the two producers create a slapping, distorted and bass heavy backing that will have you nodding your head as you stand for what’s right.

The track’s break pulls back the production intensity while hitting the gas on the vocal sample used. Taking the now iconic clip from an infuriated citizen on the LAPD Zoom Call really showcases the anger and frustration felt across the US and beyond. “…I had two friends go to the protest in Beverly Hills a couple days ago and the protest was peaceful until the police showed up with their excessive, violent force, shooting rubber bullets and throwing tear gas. Is this what you think of protect and serving? Fuck you, Michael Moore, I refuse to call you an officer or a chief because you don’t deserve those titles. You are a disgrace. Suck my dick and choke on it. I yield my time, FUCK YOU,” the caller states. The agressive words lead into a hard-hitting drop with the song’s namesake samples sprinkled in, amplifying the emotions.

‘ftp’ concludes with chants from the original Minneapolis protests with a group singing “No justice, no peace, eradicate the police.” We’ve covered a few impactful rap releases that really capture the movement and the moment, but jordnmoody & kizer have raised the bar in bass music with ‘ftp.’

“The amount of black lives lost to police violence in this country is fucking horrendous. it has been made perfectly clear time and time again that they aren’t here to protect us. We wanted to add fuel to the fire with this one, through music. Institutionalized racism runs deep in this country; it’s in EVERYTHING. Police are one tip of a giant iceberg. We need to keep pushing, protesting, educating, and speaking out. Change is coming.” – jordnmoody

Pushing his sound further through the realm of unforgettably stanky grooves, this release tugs grubby synths through rhythmic pockets to create a bounce that defies the commanding title. The beat is baked with a swooning 808, pots-and-pans percussion, and is lightly salted with a swingin’ vocal sample, fashioning a tune that is impossible to resist knocking your head to. Grab a taste of Kizer’s swanky style below and try your absolute hardest not to thizz-face your way through it.
