Moore Kismet – A Wandering Chance

Love so much of Moore Kismet’s stuff, this one is so well done. Every time the second drop hits in particular I absolutely lose it. Insane.

KaTT – VR. TEMJIN

KaTT has some of the most original ideas I’ve heard in electronic music. This track is one of their many examples. Highly recommend checking out the album that this track is from – S//////AM3.

Svdden Death – Magic Armour

Heard this track back when it was unreleased and instantly loved it. The drop carries this really dark melodic energy that is reminiscent of the ‘Fall in Love’ Moody Good remix.

Skrillex – Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites

One of, if not my favourite song of all time. This song caused me to start producing. The sound design is so raw. I might be biased but I believe it obliterates any bass track today.

While 2020 was relatively quiet for Kraysh, the talented artist looks to kick off 2021 with a bang with the release of his first single since last February. Out now via NGHTMRE and Slander’s Gud Vibrations, ‘Shrapnel’ is quintessential Kraysh, demonstrating the tireless effort being poured into his craft over the last year. The extended introduction is serene and almost mystical, bringing listeners into the depths of an enchanted forest with its goosebump-inducing violin layers and spellbinding effects. Around the seventy-second mark, hints of a darker, more rugged sound soon come to light, before Kraysh totally flips the script into a bass-riddled, eardrum pounding beast that’s equally mechanical as it is complex. Serrating bass and meaty percussion are the theme of the latter half of ‘Shrapnel,’ with the track easily living up to its explosive name. Don’t miss it below.

‘Thoughts’ is the wicked brainchild of an artist who can seamlessly combine rugged, core-shattering frequencies with hidden undertones of cheerful sounds. The track begins ominously with a sombre soundscape before a riff reminiscent of a scratch routine induces intrigue. As ‘Thoughts’ builds to its apex, listeners are hit with a barrage of mechanical bass, with subtle uplifting fills bringing an odd sense of joy to the track during its entirety. ‘Thoughts’ is perplexing in that it’s mean but listeners are not left feeling angry after the conclusion – a true testament to Kraysh’s unmatched abilities. Today, the talented artist returns with a remix of Daft Punk’s hidden gem ‘Oh Yeah’ from their 1997 Homework album, and he decided to do things his way for once. “I just made the coolest tune and I’m sharing it sometime this month. Really excited cause this is the first time I’m putting something out a reasonable amount of time after starting it,” Kraysh states about today’s release.

To say that ‘Oh Yeah’ was experimental back in 1997 would be a grave understatement. It’s simplistic with its repeated motif yet innovative with its ideas. In his rework, Kraysh stays true to this essence but adds elements of granularity and ruggedness that make it a modern bop. The flow is smoother and the energy is more prominent in Kraysh’s remix, as complex fills and pristine sound design further the contemporary nature of the track. Since then, Kraysh has remained relatively quiet, only releasing a few tracks which still sound fresh to this day. The months of anticipation for new material have come to an end today with the release of the Void EP, and boy was it worth the wait. “I’ve been working on this EP for around 2 years now. The 1st song ‘Void’ means a lot to me. Anytime I felt blue in the past 2 years I’d open the song and I’d write something,” Kraysh states about the project and lead single. These feelings of sadness, melancholy, gloom and sorrow are immediately felt in the introduction, but are met with inspiring glimpses of hope as the track progresses. Through persuasive melodies, meticulous sounds and unfiltered emotion, Kraysh brings you on a true roller coaster before fknsyd’s vocal even chime in. As the vocalist makes herself heard, ‘Void’ comes full circle, displaying the talented artist’s ability to make the powerful voice shine without undermining his impeccable production.

Sandwiched between the two stars of the project is ‘Boreal Twilight,’ a brief intermission acting as a bridge between emotions and as an uplifting boost of spirit. ‘Devium’ caps off the tumultuous journey and sees Kraysh return to his gritty, unforgiving sound design that has only evolved since we first got a taste of this sound. Building from the interlude, Kraysh gradually ups the eeriness and intrigue as the introduction progresses, before distant drums lead into the monstrous drop. Again contrasting aural beauty with sheer evil in an unparalleled manner, the musical genius has created a crowd-pleaser in ‘Devium,’ with gnarly synths and untameable flow sure to send any listener into a frenzy.

Kraysh is criminally underrated and the Void EP is a true masterpiece. Don’t sleep.
