]]> As the veritable tidal wave of massively impressive underground bass music producers grows steadily larger, it can almost be overwhelming to the everyday audible consumer to choose which new artists to take a deep dive into. Two such artists that have consistently been pumping out ludicrous heat are none other than Las Vegas’s HEXED and the Bay Area’s Labs. Between HEXED’s sensational Wings EP released just a few months ago through the sultry Left Coast Xtracts and his silky smooth Ice Cream EP, he’s shown an uncanny knack for flambéing some of the spiciest wubs on the entire market as of late. Labs has proven time and time again that he can couple hip hop and bass with the best of them with his ‘Clout Flip‘ and ‘We Still In Dis‘ remix that have been in frequent rotation among the most die-hard low-end connoisseurs since their birth last year, solidifying his place on the underground SoundCloud radar. Now, these two maestros have joined forces for ‘Take a Trip’, a true journey through sound and space.

Starting out in earnest as any epic adventure does, ‘Take a Trip’ lures you in with a soothing melody that enraptures you in the current moment and buckles your seatbelt firmly, preparing your mind and body for the expedition you’re about to undergo. The rollercoaster slowly ticks up the track until the build accelerates, forcing your body to clench tightly as adrenaline levels spike as your nervous system is warned that you’re about to experience something truly extraordinary. The first cascade of luscious, speaker-quaking bass is reminiscent of fine wine, full-bodied and rich, but satisfyingly intoxicating. Just as you think you’re settled in, you’re met with a crescendo of more refined and masterfully clean undulations that go back and forth with the more grimy wubs to create this ever-so-pleasing back and forth movement with hip hop vocal samples sprinkled over the top, a true cherry on top of an ice cream sundae.
