]]> Barclay Crenshaw continues to build some serious momentum. After wowing us with ‘The Gene Sequence’ and his ‘Transmission 001 Mixtape,’ he’s back again with a new single. ‘The Real X Files’ builds upon his extraterrestrial aesthetic with a mysterious and rugged twist. Lady Chann’s vocals drift between an elusive mystique and brash directness. Meanwhile, the production remains in the vein we’re beginning to expect from Crenshaw while branching to include elements of jungle and deep bass. Along with the single comes a fittingly trippy visual (check the video). All of this ads up to some serious excitement for Barclay Crenshaw’s debut album which is set to release on January 27th. With features from Mr. Carmack, The Cool Kids, The Underachievers and more, it’s going to be something special.
