Do you like that deep, dirty, grimy shit? That type of shit that feels like you just took a swan dive into the primordial ooze followed by laps through a tar pit? Then leet and his fellow dub peddler Mythm are ready and willing to make your sound system quake more than two tectonic plates slipping past each other. For years now, leet has been dominating the underground community with his distinct take on west coast bass music infused with only the most delectable of wubs. At the tail-end of last year we were graced with his hello. album, a cavernous crescendo of tantalizing treats, which he then followed up last month with the immaculate Beyond the Bubble LP. Mythm has been waging his own campaign of audible domination with sensational releases like ‘Clash‘ and ‘Petrified‘ with DWAM, showcasing an uncanny ability to warp shadows into ever nearby crevice via sonic exfoliation. Now, these two subwoofer personal trainers have put their heads together for ‘Switch’, an unrelenting banger of epic proportions out now on More Creativity Records.

“It’s a heavy 140 tune that really showcases both are styles. leet hit me up with the idea, sent it over and just like that, the track wrote itself.” – Mythm

Feeling like entering the den of some massive, ungodly creature, ‘Switch’ wastes no time strapping you in for the gruesome adventure you’re about to undertake. Cheeky police sirens only add even more character and swagger to the mix, warning you of the hellaciously illegal undulations you’re about to be inebriated by. Your first introduction to the lush low-end is textbook from these two maestros, a fantastic blend of their pristine prowess for cooking up some of the darkest and most potent beats on the market. The latter drop is even more robust, with silky smooth switch-ups and only the sexiest of drums. Will the cave let you find its untold amount of treasure, or will you wander bleakly forever in the inky blackness until only madness controls your consciousness? Only time will tell, but for now, start your initial descent by streaming ‘Switch’ for yourself below!

Alex Saldana, or UHNK, has already had major success in 2020 with the release of his debut EP DIY Reality, which we had the pleasure of premiering ‘This Finger‘ from, here on FUXWITHIT. Captivating countless fans of gritty, expertly crafted bass music, he’s showcased a sound that is sure to carry him to major success. Now, he’s partnered with the fantastically trappy leet, to bring the masses ‘Bassline,’ a track that will bend your speakers in ways you didn’t even know possible.

From the moment the first purr of low-end from ‘Bassline’ swifly exits through your speaker holes, you’ll be gripped by the full-bodied texture and seemingly entrancing vocal chops. Once you’re firmly in its clutches, the vocals change to “underground,” and I couldn’t agree any more. This piece is a true testament to the heart and soul of the underground experimental scene, with industrial levels of polish and attention to detail accompanying forward-thinking subwoofer workout regimes. For those with souped up sound systems at home or in their vehicles, ‘Bassline’ will surely be a true audible delight with its legitimately ludicrous low frequencies. Make sure to keep a keen eye on both UHNK and leet for the rest of the year, as you never know what these two madmen could whip-up next. For now, check out ‘Bassline’ for yourself below!

Experimental trap wizards Sam Delgado and Harrison McCord, also known by bd hbt and leet, have had absolutely tremendous 2019 campaigns. McCord released his stellar In Light of Recent Darkness LP just a month ago, and Delgado has had releases on some of the biggest bass labels in the game. Today, they’ve pooled their collective creative juices to bring fans a release through Phuture Collective with a title so fitting even a tailor would be impressed.

‘The Big Festival Banger’ is the epitome of next level hi-fi sound that crushes on a large system. Showcasing crisp, dense sound coupled with cognitive stimulating arrangements, this is a song with high probability of turning listeners into whirling dervishes. Much like the age old question of “which came first, the chicken or the egg?” fans probably wonder if these two set out with the intention of making a song around the name, or if the name came after it was created. Delgado explains, “the song was named after it was made. Harrison actually came up with the title and it was the perfect balance between comedy and our serious intentions behind the track.” Even though the title was made for fun, this is not a song to play around with. Fans have been instructed to use two seat belts while driving when rinsing this track as severe cases of whiplash have been known to occur.

With a fantastic 9 month regime down in the books, Delgado reflected “2019 was a wild year for me as a whole, but I felt like through this journey I have really found myself as a musician, and I have 0 plans for slowing down.” 3 months are still left in this already incredible year, and with the prowess these two artists have shown, anything could still be possible.

Check out ‘The Big Festival Banger’ for yourself below!

The weird side of bass music is emerging from the dephts of SoundCloud’s dungeons and it’s beyond fantastic to see young and new producers going in with such incredible ideas. They’re breaking clichès and pushing boundaries faster than ever before. The not-so-unexpected partnership between the iconic Wormhole Music Group and the two youngsters that are leet and Jon Casey is, alongside Jadu Dala latest release, the very finest example of this trend.

Despite the undeniable minimalism, there’s plenty do enjoy in ‘Drizzle’. Every sound deserves our attention, deserves to be appreciated both as a standalone for their astounding oddity, and for their key roles inside the composition.

There’s no need to worry by the way, whether you’re a long-dated sound designer or just a random listener, ‘Drizzle’ will blow your mind in a single stroke anyway.

The music industry as a whole is developing and changing at such a fast rate, it can be hard to keep up with certain trends. As of recent the experimental bass scene has been pushing some serious sonic boundaries and getting picked up from the big dog labels! Notably labels like Jadu Dala, Quality Goods Records, Deadbeats, & Division have been putting out very experimental and original content as of recent.

Below in alphabetical order are just some of the hundreds of artists that are currently driving this movement full force with their frequency splitting production!

Abelation

Abelation has been putting out music very frequently with a constant theme of half time Dub style bass with trap influenced drums. His sound is complemented with his minimal style of artwork that is really painting a world I’d happily live in. Abelation’s sound has been evolving constantly over the past year, yet staying so true to his Lost Dogz routes. If you need a bass driven fix, look no further.

Cozway

Ok so this guy right here…he’s now got the top 2 most played tracks on Jadu Dala, along with his knee-breaking track ‘Windbreaker’ getting played out at most major festivals around the globe. So much love for his sound as he is really trying to push for quality over quantity and it’s paid off a ton! Percussive driven rhythms with stripped back drums that are a much needed breath of fresh air in the bass scene. Need a new obsession? Check the tracks below.

Duke & Jones

These two UK based weapons have been hiding in silence with a lot of ammunition for a hot minute. This year they have gone from silence, to releasing their newest single ‘Tusk’ on Deadbeats with a HUGE Billboard premiere! They have also had an official remix release through Circus records. Keep an eye out this next month for some spicy releases from these two.

JEANIE

Phat low end with biting snares. JEANIE’s sound is nothing short of an ice cream Sundae with ALL the toppings. A perfect mixture of that bass design base with a sprinkle of lightly salted distortion on the top. Amazing arrangement in every single track from the Queen herself, JEANIE.

Leet

Leet has taken the scene by storm in the past year with one of his most recent releases with Snuffy ‘incoherent,’ getting noticed from the likes of Electric Mantis! From chicken samples to phat low end 808s, this guy has so much momentum right now. Have a scout out and stay tuned for his upcoming tracks.

Razat

Half time distortion with full pan pot sauce snares! Razat has been on my radar for a good year or so now. Track after track he offers a new rhythm occupying his signature distorted bass. His track ‘d:beat’ got a considerable amount of well deserved love from the SoundCloud community! ‘D:beat’ is a loose yet clever blend of simplicity and rhythm that just fills a dance floor. Indulge below!

Roxas & Klahrk

I put these two together because, well…I’m sure they were separated when they fell from the UFO that dropped them off. Alien structures with sounds that have been pulled through a packer punch then spread on a beautiful piece of french toast. These two are honestly pushing hard on the experimentation side of the bass scene! Amazing creators.
