Last Friday, I had the extreme pleasure of attending Eptic‘s The End of the World tour debut in Toronto, Canada, where the artist kicked-off the celebration for this new album sharing the same name. With Leotrix making his Toronto debut (and supporting the veteran on the majority of his 30+ stops), the anticipation for this show was at an all-time high, especially considering the Australian producer was my top Spotify artist of 2021. With both artists boasting an extensive catalogue of tunes that haven’t been rinsed much since the pandemic, the excitement to hear all of these in a live setting set high expectations, and Eptic and Leotrix exceeded them.

The intimate Revival venue provided a comfortable setting for the show. I arrived around 10:45 to catch the second half of Dex Arson‘s set, where the local played a collection of heavy tracks from some of the biggest names in dubstep along with a few originals of his own. The performance was definitely on the heavier side, but was nicely tailored to an audience that was attending a dubstep show. I didn’t have the foresight to check out his material before the event, and perhaps additional familiarity would have made it an even more enjoyable experience. Nonetheless, the vibe was right for the start of Leotrix’s set.

Image from Leotrix’s Twitter.

As Leotrix hit the stage, the crowd’s energy immediately skyrocketed. I mean, just take a look at his energy in the video below. When an artist is passionate about what he does, the energy is infectious and the crowd follows. Leotrix is the embodiment of this. Aside from the excitement behind the decks, the set itself was incredibly well put-together. The hard work that Leotrix spent putting out five EPs in 2021 was evident, with the artist playing a set highlighted by his own works, with his originals, remixes and bootlegs of all genres making themselves heard. From his electric future riddim tunes, to more grungy trap originals, to closing out the set with ‘EmoBoy303,’ Leotrix put on a diverse set that mirrors his discography, and nobody is more deserving to finally tour North America. The addition of unreleased material, some gnarly riddim (mostly from Aweminus) and some old school dubstep-sounding wobbles were the cherry-on-top of the already-captivating set.

https://fuxwithit.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/video-1652017165.mp4

Eptic’s turn came around 1AM, with the Belgian veteran following with a masterclass of his own. Again leaning heavy on his original material, the artist showcased the majority of his new album as well as a handful of older works, which equates to a dubstep-leaning show balanced with bass house, drum and bass, and more. I decided to venture around the venue about halfway through the set, and was happy to run into Kraysh who was enjoying the show near the side of the stage. Leotrix also happened to be there, and I was stoked that he recognized the FUXWITHIT logo on my shirt. After extending some compliments, I returned to my group of friends who were still carrying the same sustained energy as they did since start of the Leotrix set. After more heavy debauchery, Eptic ended his set with the epitome of Eptic classics, ‘Like A Boss,’ and that was a wrap.

For the 2+ hours that Leotrix and Eptic were on stage, the crowd never settled. The End of the World tour brings two amazing artists across North America, and is a must-attend. Grab your tickets here.

There is not much to say about Leotrix that was not said in 2021. Having covered the majority of his releases from that calendar year which spans over an album’s worth of material, everyone should be aware of the jaw-dropping consistency at which the Australian producer releases music, and quality music at that. While one would expect him to take some downtime after such a monumental year, it appears that Leotrix was just getting started. Kicking off 2022 in full force, the talented artist returns to Never Say Die today with the release of his Reload EP, a diverse four-track project that provides the right dosage of versatility and that classic Leotrix sound.

About the project, Leotrix says “‘Reload’ is representative of the visions I have had for the future of dubstep over the last two years. Some of these tracks I have been holding onto since I started them in 2020. There’s something I find really special about all these tracks and I feel like they’ve grown into the sonic atmosphere that is dubstep in 2022.”

In parallel to the full release, we have the extreme pleasure of premiering ‘Reload’ today. The title track of this project is quintessential Leotrix, with the artist luring you in with a shimmering introduction before swooping you away with his gnarly bass flow. Creating a beautiful contrast, the opening is brief yet scintillating, with a vibrant lead and crisp percussion driving the energy. A quick switch bridges the track into the meat of things, as Leotrix peppers listeners with a barrage of contorted bass stabs that get more intense with each passing bar. Falling under the broad umbrella of dubstep but boasting influence from a multitude of genres, ‘Reload’ is uniquely Leotrix. Don’t miss it below.

Leotrix is one of the best in the game right now and that’s an undeniable fact. Aside from the unparalleled versatility displayed through each and every release, the Sydney-based artist’s outpour of tunes is second to none. Need proof? In nine months, Leotrix has released the Round III EP via Never Say Die: Black Label, a mind-melting collaboration with The Caracal Project, the boundary-pushing Visions Of The Leo EP via Disciple, the nostalgic Honesty Trax EP, as well as two more singles on Pilot and Gud Vibrations. Now set to unleash the Out Of Order EP via Never Say Die today, we are convinced that Leotrix is in a league of his own.

Paired with the project’s release today, we have the incredible honour of premiering ‘Tins,’ a unique track where Leotrix lends his own vocals to evoke unexpected emotions within the bass-riddled mayhem. Leotrix uses processed vocals in the introduction to draw intrigue, layering them over his quintessential future riddim sounds but keeping the arrangement unique. A gradual progression to a heavier section brings about a headbang-inducing flow that only Leotrix can pull off, balancing high pitched notes with wickedly contorted synths and simple yet snappy percussion. With a menacing switch up in groove taking center stage in the second half of the tune, ‘Tins’ is but further proof of Leotrix’s masterful ability to create something special, and solidifies his status as a future legend within the scene.

Despite premiering ‘Tins,’ we implore everyone to check out the Out Of Order EP in full today, as Leotrix flexes innovation through sound with every track.

Leotrix is unstoppable. Name a genre, and Leotrix has done it well. With every release, the Australian producer goes above and beyond expectations, redefining bass music one track at a time. Stating that he’s sitting on a few albums worth of unreleased material, one certainty remains true with Leotrix: we’ve already gotten a ton of music from him this year, and there’s more to come.

From the Round III EP on Never Say Die: Black Label, to a monumental collaboration with The Caracal Project, to the Visions Of The Leo EP on Disciple, Leotrix has been everything but quiet in 2021. Showing no signs of slowing down, the skilled artist is back with the two-track Honesty Trax EP via NIGHT MODE, and if you were in the mood for an addicting dose of funky bass, Leotrix has your prescription ready.

His brief statement saying “been sitting on [these tracks] for almost 2 years” just goes to show how far ahead of the curve Leotrix really is. Despite boasting a nostalgic complextro vibe, both ‘brief grip of creation’ and ‘this track vs my laptop fan’ push the genre to new limits with intricate sound design, a meticulous attention to detail and an infectious bounce. With the pair of tracks, listeners are simultaneously transported to the early 2010s and to the future of upbeat bass music, attesting to Leotrix’s undeniable mastery of various styles and genres.

Don’t miss the electrifying pair from Leotrix below.

We’ve said it before, but we’ll say it again: few are delivering the same level of quantity and quality as Leotrix. With the ability to weave through genres and styles without ever escaping his signature flair, the Sydney-based talent has quickly climbed the ladder of bass music to stand among the greats thanks to his endless catalog of hits. This year alone, Leotrix has displayed unparalleled versatility in his Round III EP on Never Say Die: Black Label, before teaming up with The Caracal Project to redefine bass music in ‘New Lesson.’

Continuing to churn out top-notch material, Leotrix now makes his Disciple debut with the Visions Of The Leo EP, and while it may be difficult to believe, this is his best and most well-rounded project to date. Visions Of The Leo is an elite ensemble of five individual tracks that each stand well on their own, but together form a cohesive body of Leotrix’s signature.

Sampling Cassie’s ‘Me & U’ in the opener, the skilled producer makes a future riddim statement in ‘Sight,’ utilizing the catchy vocals to create a mesmerizing crossover between beauty and bass. A personal favourite from the project, Leotrix follows the highly-anticipated piece with ‘Oh Yeah,’ another dubstep-leaning brute that boasts a flow like no other, but that is flawlessly contrasted with uplifting notes and shimmering synths. ‘Lovin U’ returns to the softer vibes of the first track, as Leotrix delivers an emotional bass ballad that again defies the barriers of genres. ‘Good Day’ is but another reminder of the artist’s true mastery and ingenuity, while ‘Begin New’ concludes the project with two minutes of feels as introspection and emotion run deep in the veins of this one.

Leotrix is one of the best at his craft. Visions Of The Leo is proof. Don’t miss it below.

If you’re looking for a pair of artists that are consistently pushing bass music to unprecedented heights, look no further than Leotrix and The Caracal Project. While the former is quickly becoming a household name ever since exploding onto the scene with ‘Hive Bounce‘ and releasing not one, but three full projects on Never Say Die: Black Label among his plethora of other top-notch releases, the latter has silently been driving a new wave of drum and bass that is sure to break out in the North American scene. From his recent dual single that live up to its name, to the mesmerizing ‘Watercats‘ on Pilot Records, The Caracal Project is bound to explode, and perhaps all he needs is a collaboration with his Australian mate on NGHTMRE and Slander’s Gud Vibrations.

An unexpected yet highly welcome teaming of two production brutes, ‘New Lesson’ sees Leotrix and The Caracal Project join forces on a style-blending, genre-bending bop. ‘New Lesson’ displays a natural chemistry between the two artists, as the track is so cleanly produced and it is impossible to dissect who contributed which part. Leotrix and The Caracal Project’s latest has all the key elements of a high-quality track, from an intriguing introduction, to crisp percussion, to energetic drop sections. What makes ‘New Lesson’ stand out, though, is the ingenuity behind the bass sections, the emphatic second half, and the boundary-pushing appeal. It’s dubstep with drum and bass production, it’s dubstep that breaks the mold, it’s dubstep that gives the genre a new meaning.

Leotrix has been an undeniable leader in the bass scene over the last couple of years, consistently unleashing boundary-pushing content that defies genres and expectations. Looking to kick off 2021 in high gear and following up on his Hive and Gremlin EPs, the skilled audiophile returns to Never Say Die: Black Label with his third full-length project on the imprint, aptly titled Round III. From a surprise collaboration with Aweminus to three solo works that are equally impressive, Round III is a clear showcase of Leotrix’s ever-evolving abilities, and today we have the extreme pleasure of premiering ‘Endless Pain’ from the Sydney-based talent ahead of the project’s full release.

‘Endless Pain’ first appeared on my radar around a month ago when it snuck its way into the Hukae b2b Jub set, and I immediately added it to my list of unreleased material that needed identification as soon as possible. Thankfully, the wait wasn’t too long. ‘Endless Pain’ is one of those tunes that hits all the right notes, combining gritty bass and an oddly danceable rhythm that will surely make it a live stream favourite. The main notes are screechy yet sharp, with snappy percussion giving the drop sections an extra bounce. The use of call-and-response throughout ‘Endless Pain’ is ingenious, as Leotrix creates a pleasing contrast over a wide range of frequencies that are sure to tickle any bass lover’s fancy.

Don’t miss ‘Endless Pain’ below and stay tuned for Round III, out tomorrow.

There isn’t much to be said about Moore Kismet that hasn’t been said in the past, as the teenager has accomplished more in the last few years than most dream of achieving in a lifetime. And, if it weren’t for the unfortunate situation in the world around us, there is no doubt that they would be headlining their own tour in the near future, too.

However, with the Revenge Of The Unicorns EP, Moore Kismet goes beyond expectations and pushes their sound to new, inventive heights, demonstrating that their talents are truly limitless. Aside from the two previously-released singles, Moore Kismet exudes creativity in ‘Convulsion Therapy,’ ‘They Changed’ with snowcloak (fka as shibuya) and ‘Self-Expression,’ pushing trap and future bass to unprecedented levels of ingenuity. Each track features the distinct Moore Kismet signature that many have grown to love, while the artist continues to find fresh ways to keep their sound original. In the closer with Voltra, the two artists unleash a futuristic beast sure to become the soundtrack to space travel, combining elements from different realms of electronic music to cap off the project in epic fashion.

We dare you to find two producers churning out more hits than Moore Kismet and Leotrix. Throughout their short yet illustrious careers, the two artists have quickly risen the ranks through respectively unique sounds that give a fresh new light to electronic music. With singles and projects out on the biggest labels in bass music, it was only a matter of time until Moore Kismet and Leotrix bridged their large geographical barrier with a track transcending distances and genres.

As the follow-up single to ‘Flair‘ from Moore Kismet’s upcoming EP on Never Say Die, ‘Adore’ sees two producers with distinct styles come together harmoniously on one eclectic piece. The textures and effects present from the get-go are glitchy and engulfing, immediately creating a sense of beautiful chaos within listeners. As the lengthy introduction builds, this sense of disorder slowly grows into a familiar tone, before Moore Kismet and Leotrix flip the script into a trap-leaning beat highlighted by crisp sounds and percussion. The second half of ‘Adore’ builds in a similar fashion, but the flow is switched into a more rhythmic allure, giving the track a more danceable feel.

Few are delivering innovative bass music at a frequency on par with Leotrix‘s. Since September of last year, the Sydney-based producer has unleashed two projects on Never Say Die: Black Label and a handful of originals, remixes and collaborations to truly set himself apart from the masses. With a keen attention to detail and a knack for gut-wrenching sound design, Leotrix has been able to compete with the best in a scene filled with experienced legends.

Looking to further his dominance within the bass community, Leotrix now makes his mark on the coveted Disciple Round Table with the four-track Collapse EP. Simply put, the project is a short yet menacing beast that perfectly displays the talented artist’s ability to get to the punch, and punch hard. Never beating around the bush, every track with the exception of ‘Collapse’ gets to the meat of things before the forty-second mark, with a mechanical focus on shattering the core of all listeners. A personal favourite is ‘Alien Blaster,’ as the introduction is enthralling and creates intrigue before Leotrix sends you to a new dimension with his futuristic, otherworldly sounds.

The Collapse EP may be short in run time, but easily hits the high standard that Leotrix has set for himself in the past. Don’t miss it below.
