Luci has had an amazing and fruitful journey so far. Her talents and strengths have guided her through this industry with pure might and strive. Paving a strong and shining road of perseverance. With a great amount of releases under her belt, she’s managed to make an angelic impact on herself and her audience. Collaborating with many artists while preparing for this major new chapter in her career. And with her debut album, bittersweet, finally taking flight, we thought it’d be perfect to conduct an interview with this hard-working spirit. From talking about her creative vision, past, and future, she shares some insight into who she truly is. Dive in below.

First off thank you so much for taking the time for this interview! How’ve you been?

I’ve been okay. Honestly, getting this album out has been such an exhausting experience. I’m happy it’s out but it has definitely been a process.

Congratulations on the album! Tell us, what was the thought process behind it? How long has it been in the works?

It has been in the works since 2021. Had a lot of things fall through and unexpected setbacks but my process was just an angsty, 24-year-old girl writing songs about her heartbreaks throughout the year.

I ended up really missing djing and making edm so now I decided to be in both and to really try and ignore the negativity and noise.

What has been a big challenge for you when transitioning from electronic music into the pop realm?

Honestly.. just all the hate. I’ve always gotten hate but it became even worse after that. Around 2021, I felt very excluded from the edm world. All the hate got so bad, I started believing it. So I felt like the escape was to leave and go into the pop world. But I ended up really missing djing and making edm so now I decided to be in both and to really try and ignore the negativity and noise.

Growing up, what kind of music were you listening to? And has it contributed to the creative process for you today?

I listened to a lot of Taylor Swift honestly. I’m a BIG swiftie. I think she’s the songwriter of our generation and I have taken so much inspiration from her. Not even just in music but all the hate she CONSTANTLY gets for just being a woman in music. Everyone loves to label female artists as crazy for making break-up songs but never do it for the male artists. But even so, she still shines throughout all the hate. She really inspires me.

In terms of production and vocal balance, were you self-taught or did you have a mentor in the beginning?

I had a mentor! A couple actually. I took production classes at a school called Recording Connections then had some tutors. Songwriting and singing though, I’m completely self-taught. I think being able to make pop really improved my songwriting.

Once you have your life online, everyone has something to say. People can be acting like they love you and they have your back but they don’t.

Were there any lifelong lessons you’ve learned over the years that truly stuck with you to this day?

Don’t trust people lol and keep some things private. I know that sounds dark but it’s unfortunately true. Once you have your life online, everyone has something to say. People can be acting like they love you and they have your back but they don’t. I honestly don’t have a close circle group in the industry anymore and I feel like after my super public break-up, people started treating me different. I think just keep your circle small and learn about people before letting them in your life.

Do you have any passions outside the music realm you enjoy or want to get into?

Honestly, just my dog and witchcraft. I’m big into manifesting and doing spells. Also, my dog is the cutest thing ever.

If you could perform at any festival or event in the future, what would be your top 3 picks?

Okeechobee or Lollapalooza. I would love to return to EDC Vegas and be on the Circuit Grounds.

What goes into a Luci styled track? What can listeners expect?

Music that makes you feel something.

Angsty, break-up, bad bitch vibes ??? bahahaha too many words but yes!

Describe your album in 3 words!

Angsty, break-up, bad bitch vibes ??? bahahaha too many words but yes!

Are there any artists you’d love to collaborate in the long run?

Illenium, I think I would die. I’m a huge fan.

If you could travel in time back to your younger self, what advice would you bestow upon her?

My younger self was much more fearless than I am now. Ironically, I feel like she would have better advice than me currently. As I’ve gotten older, my depression and anxiety has gotten worse. When I was younger, nothing could get me down.

Any final words?

Thank you.

Luci‘s presence within the sonic field continues to inspire and amaze listeners everywhere. Coming from an electronic music background, the artist has made her vision present with incredible self-releases, collaborations, and more. She’s even found a home with Subsidia and Wakaan. Elevating her techniques and skills to a whole new level. And now, she’s debuting a brand new chapter in life and as an artist, with her debut album, bittersweet. Easily making this her most impactful and personal work to date.

“This album is the first time I have really written about my personal life experiences in my music. Every single song is in reference to a situation I went through personally. I named it bittersweet because that’s what relationships really are in your 20s. You fall in love, lose people you love, people you love get hurt and you’re probably going to make 27392926 mistakes. It’s all lessons in the end and these are all my personal experiences with that.” – Luci

Consisting of seventeen tracks, each one highlights a past experience – whether it be good, bad, or downright confusing. These experiences have only made her wiser, stronger, and more powerful. Evolving every single day and putting everything she has into this work of art. Taking what she’s learned throughout the years and implementing an evolved sense of creativity in each piece.

From the drums to the groove, and angelic vocals, this is an album you’ll absolutely love and relate to no matter who or where you are. It’s a comforting journey with a brilliant execution in pacing and storytelling. Her voice will melt your heart while empowering your persona and soul. Completely blowing you away from beginning to end! Congratulations to her and we’re excited to see and hear where she goes in this new light. So make sure to show your support by streaming bittersweet everywhere via Create Music!
