A born natural when it comes to creating a dark and euphoric atmosphere situated with deep house music followed by an eruption of bass, Malaa is truly the don of house music and it only made sense to rinse his recent Don Malaa album to the masses at Celebrities Nightclub in Vancouver. From start to finish, Malaa definitely brought all the heat to the table with his iconic tunes both classic and new such as ‘Gangsta’ and ‘Bling Bling.’ The crowd could not be contained as the evening consisted of filthy transitions and a mix of house, tech, and future bass to keep the groove intact. With his epic album featuring collaborations with icons such as A-Trak, DJ Snake, Tchami, Tony Romera, and more, Don Malaa is an album that will never grow old to the masses.

Highlighting a few of the finest tunes, ‘Outcast’ which includes a taste of Brooklyn drill and a massive tech-house journey with Fivio Foreign, this one is an immediate crowd-pleaser. An unmatched weapon on the dancefloor, ‘Deep’ with DJ Snake and Yung Felix brings the bounce as they slowly progress from smooth vocals into electrifying house melodies to really fire it up a notch. Changing the vibe, ‘Discipline’ with Tchami features mesmerizing vocals and crafts a euphoric groove into the picture as Tchami and Malaa are undeniably a match made in heaven. A personal favorite ‘Gangsta’ blends an industrial vibe and funk to get you feeling some type of way on the dance floor as proven during his recent show in Vancouver. Be sure to listen to all of the eclectic singles below and grab your tickets to the ‘Don Malaa’ tour here.

Malaa is a producer who can seamlessly shift levels between dark, yet bass-heavy signatures when it comes down to both on and off stage. Sometimes all you need is some bass house-infused groove to get you through those long days, but Malaa delivers those filthy transitions and a mix of house, tech, and future bass to prove he really is one of a kind to change up the house game. Calling upon the masked bass house connoisseur to initiate a whole new vibe to Alison Wonderland and Valentino Khan’s ‘Anything,’ Malaa has just delivered an explosive bass house remix to take full control of the dancefloor in 2021. Already highly impressed with the original track, Malaa has worked his magic which both compliments Alison Wonderland and Valentino Khan’s signature on the single while opening up the doors into his mystic world of bass house.

Launching off with a tech-house composition, a distorted chorus phases in and out of the single as listeners are welcomed with subtle frequencies and melodic chimes. As Alison Wonderland’s majestic vocals flow immaculately with Malaa’s enticing build-up, Malaa ignites the dancefloor as lasers of frequencies fire off alongside a foolish filthy bass house melody. Taking full control of your mind and body is easy for Malaa, but this remix also supports the vision Alison Wonderland and Valentino Khan to instill listeners with the utmost emotion. With Malaa going hard on his rendition, this explosive remix will easily fire up your playlists this year.

Many may refer to this Parisian producer as the one who casually sips on Jack Daniels while playing filthy basslines to lure you into his own hypnosis of heavy house music. However, when Malaa begins to light his cigarette on stage you know it is about to go even darker and dirtier throughout the night.

Ready to grasp our soul when we need it the most during this time, Malaa has just released ‘OCB’ which is certainly a reflection of bass-house along with snippets of his experimental tech-house side to get groovy in your living room. Turn off the lights, pour a glass of Jack Daniels and let Malaa do what he does best. With the momentum of a solid tech-house beat fueling you to lose control of your body, Malaa perfectly aligns distorted vocals and an alien-like melody to lure you into a contagious bassline. Catching a taste of a hip-hop feel to the track, Malaa convinces his listeners to get those masks on and convert to his cult of dark house music.

Los Angeles based producer Wuki is a true force to be reckoned with. Inspired by the sounds of Detroit ghetto tech and Chicago footwork scenes, Kris Barman has the ability to adapt any genre he experiments with. Whether it be house or even trap music, Wuki’s high energy and track versatility is what brings him into the spotlight. Taking a spin on DJ Snake, Tchami, Malaa and Mercer’s dance floor heater ‘Made In France,’ Wuki has just pumped things up a notch with the release of his high-speed remix.

With the recognized vocals to start the party anywhere around the world, the vocals are hit with distortion and numerous repetitions to launch right into whips of drum claps and slithering instrumentals. Exploding listeners minds with the amount of firepower released in the track, layers of bass and glitches of beaming sounds are firing off. Going even harder than the beginning, Wuki has just delivered a hard-hitting festival banger to prepare you for this summer. If you need a wake up call, I highly recommend this track for you.

Coming off of Tchami‘s Confession label, Malaa creates yet another monster bass-banger with a slick manifistation of his 2019 hit ‘Bling Bling.’

Malaa is a ferocious producer and DJ, who shows off his zero-fucks-given attitude any chance he can, including his remixes. He unabashedly will chew up and regurgitate his own tracks, and also names his frequent posted sets as ‘WHO IS MALAA # X”. This is a refreshingly dull way to focus the attention of his fans and listeners on his music, the sound, not the story behind it. Malaa is his music.

‘BLING BLING’ is a great example of how Malaa utilizes the same elements to create an entirely different sound. It’s like he’s spitting gasoline on a bonfire and calling forth the brimstone to our realm. This version is full of steep drops, quick crescendos, and the deepest of bass lines that are raring to ramp you up for the dance floor. The transitions are flawless, the vocals consistent and full of swag, but of course the bass is what makes this irresistible House beat bang.

Check out this fierce track and keep an eye out for Malaa on tour this year.

Pardon My French, the French House DJ collective fronted by world famous DJ Snake did not disappoint with their first show at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado.

Punjahbae opened the hotly anticipated show amid dark clouds and misty rain. Denver locals, they got things of on the right foot with plenty of bass, tricky mixing, and house funk that got all the early birds dancing. It was nice to get to see Pardon My French reach out to a local artist whose sound is both fun to party to but also pushes boundaries. Their fresh set must be just a taste of what is to come since they released their first mix this past winter- their first in two years.

Next up was Mercer, who threw down a more seasoned set, reflecting his prowess and classic house mixing style. Mercer definitely showed off his flare for more funky, throwback style of electronic music. It was just the right mix to keep the crowd grooving as the sun went down and the chill of a misty evening crept in over the duration of his set. His bolder-bass remix of Daft Punks ‘One More Time’ and florescent pastel visuals especially brought on the house party vibes and got the crowd hyped.

Tchami and Malaa stepped up to the decks next and played an extraordinary set together. They did not strictly stick to tracks that they co-produced but also collaborations that they had each done with other artists. It must have been Tchami who tossed out ‘My Place’ which he created with Brohug and it was a great way to introduce this duo’s passion for more modern house. It was amazing to hear many of their No Redemption EP tracks live and see the excitement come over the fans. The pair also threw out fresher beats throughout their set including ‘Curbi’ by Redeem, ‘Move to the Sound’ by Kitone and Siberian Express, and ‘Right About’ by Bellacour from Malaa’s Illegal Mixtape 2 EP. Their satiating die hard fans dressed in priest collars, nun habits, and balaclavas, which probably peaked some DJ Snake fans’ interest, and they paid homage to Notre Dame with stunning visuals of the church’s rose window stained glass.

Finally, DJ snake took the stage, and lit up the entire venue with powerful trappy tracks and a few of his incredibly successful top 40 hits. This included ‘Lean On’ and his more recent ‘Taki Taki’. He hyped the crowd, called out to the French citizens in the front rows, and laid down track after track of house, filthy trap, and plenty of bass. This performance was impressive as he presented his repertoire of catchy, pop hits and his fervor to push the boundaries of what electronic music is today.

Much of his set was a fluttering back-and-forth between these two poles of the DJ Snake aesthetic. But his flow was impressive as he shifted the crowd from singing along with Selena Gomez to riding the roller-coaster of emotional instrumentals that crashed into industrial metallics of his more futuristic tastes.

As DJ Snake came closer and closer to midnight (which is closing time for this truly unique venue), you could hear the murmurs of the crowd questioning and wondering if the four horsemen of Pardon My French would stand together; and then the moment came!

The entire venue caught a second wave, and jammed out as they played dirty french house beats, hyped the crowd, and overall demonstrated how grateful they were to have dedicated fans and to have the chance to play the world famous Red Rocks Amphitheater.

He takes his time with the drop on this one, but in classic Malaa style it has grimy bass lines, snappy snares, and thrilling up tempo. This track is pretty irresistible and sure to appear in the set lists of his upcoming performances. Even though the flawless progression and build ups are telltale, the sound of this track is uniquely eerie yet visceral, proving Malaa to still have some surprises up his sleeve. If this new music is any indication that we can expect more original music from Malaa count me in. There’s just no getting enough of his French house style.

‘We Get Crunk’ is the freshest and grooviest house track and the third single off of Malaa’s latest collection Illegal Vol. 2.

This is classic, funky house with futuristic hip hop flavorings but fun is what it really is. Malaa’s last releases may have been focused on the ferocity and bravado of electronic experimentation, but ‘We Get Crunk’ has a flirty feel to it, and just makes you want to dance. He first builds it up with a bubbly tempo, tossing in saucy elements, a twang here and there, like a chef adding ingredients to a pot of something steamy and meaty.

After the crisp drop into a pillow of house bass, the funk continues to tug at your hips. This leads up to an abrupt, complete break down of all the sounds. Within the pause of near silence, Malaa stitches things back together for another funky progression of techno-house waves.

Malaa can make the beat seethe with darkness, but its tracks like ‘Pregnant’, and his collab with Tchami, ‘Summer 99’ and now ‘We Get Crunk’ that testify to his electronic music artistry, but also his love to party and catch the vibe of a night out of good music. This is what electronic music is all about, which may be why Malaa released this deep-house, party track while he currently headlines his Illegal Fall Tour 2018 and will likely share this perfect party groove with all his fans on the road.

Malaa is a mysterious man and doesn’t confess much even considering his label’s name (Tchami‘s Confession). Theorized to be a crafted persona, a random Parisian, a figurehead of a supergroup, or something between, we can certainly say he knows what makes the world turn with his latest release ‘Cash Money’.

We all know that credit is a scam and there’s nothing like the feeling of a wad of cash (whatever currency), but what we did not know before this track was how well laser effects can carry a melody, and harmonize with big-belly bass. Malaa unfurls a display of tech-house’s energetic, but sadistic, power over rhythm, bass, and synths. He has a certain class to him typically; he gives off a dark vibes, and resonates with deeper, truer bass house sounds.

This is at least what fans like myself seem to expect, but we have always seen him hint at a rebel nature with his fierce style and his propensity to casually lighting up a cigarette on stage regardless of the type of venue. ‘Cash Money’ departs from Malaa’s deeper and darker known mixes, and seems to be an imitative performance of how money changes things: ups the ante, makes agreements real, and creates the willingness for deceit. This track is uncharacteristic of Malaa, but what really is of a man whose identity is unknown? Enjoy the surprises and ready to here this make it rain on a crowded dance floor.

Check it out below. Don’t miss Malaa’s Illegal Tour which starts in October.
