Singapore-native and Sola Collective co-founder MYRNE remains one of the precursory talents in the realm of future bass. Initially gaining momentum by virtue of the coveted Daruma Sounds Compilations, MYRNE quickly developed a style unique to his own that blends impassioned synth work with heartfelt melodies in a manner that is closely tethered to raw, palpable emotions.

With a discography that speaks volumes on its own, MYRNE has an adaptable diversity within his production range, which has allowed for collaborative releases alongside an extensive cast, such as Holly, lux.impala, KRANE, Revazz, Dirty Chocolate, and graves to finger a select handful. Working reciprocally in his self-championed projects and remix work and has a depth and stylistic symmetry that truly begins to take shape when reflecting upon accomplishments, including his debut album In Search of Solitude or his own mix series titled MONOCHROME.

Extending the list of collaborative work one notch further, MYRNE and Moving Castle’s Manila Killa team up for a two-track ensemble titled Fluorescence. Light, vibrant melodies laid over embryonic, floral builds which launch crisply into a simplistic bouncy ambiance, both tracks beckon an inquisition into the passage of time and the shifting sands of avoidance.

pluko, Manila Killa & ilo ilo Unleash Cutesy ‘on the way’

Manila Killa, pluko and ilo ilo are three producers known for telling a story through their works. Often vocal-driven pieces, the artists use emotion to evoke strong feelings within their listeners, and it was only a matter of time before they came together on a mega-collaboration.

Out now on Moving Castle, ‘on the way’ is a Cinderella story in the making, with ilo ilo stating, “we write a lot of songs about heartbreak. This isn’t one of those songs. We wanted to find a cool way to bridge our three sonic worlds.” What initially started as a studio session between Manila Killa and ilo ilo evolved into full blown collaboration between the three acts, with each offering a distinctive touch to the final product. ‘on the way’ is a lush, cutesy ballad that uses crisp vocals to captivate your attention in the introduction, before the musicality shines through during the drops. Big Wild’s ‘Invincible’ Get Remixed By Manila Killa, Point Point & J.Phlip

Big Wild’s powerful anthem ‘Invincible’ has just been reborn with a new visual and a pack of reworks. Seeing flips from Manila Killa, Point Point and J.Phlip the song takes on a few new lives. Manila Killa increases the intensity, moving away from his future pop stylings to take on a more vicious approach. Meanwhile, Point Point slows things down, stretching the vocals out over heartfelt keys. Don’t be fooled though, the soundscape gives way to a wonky reeling. While the first two explore the excitement of the wild, the final remix from J.Phlip takes a calm approach. This one is a spiritual drum sessions as the sun rises; slowly progressing while maintaining a steady and grinding rhythm. Check all the remixes below.

Manila Killa & Kidswaste cover ‘Can’t Do Without You’

Manila Killa & Kidswaste got together to take on something major; covering Caribou’s ‘Can’t Do Without You’. The massive, emotional 2014 anthem is too big for most artists to even consider touching, but these two do it incredible justice. The cover has a more upbeat and cheery feel thanks to shimmering synths and the brighter vocal tones. That said, it still manages to pack an air of melancholy that deepens the feel and pays respect to the original. Don’t be surprised if this one has you feeling some type of way.
