Earlier this year Memorecks had an intimate headlining show in Toronto with frequent collaborator Jenna Pemkowski. The concert had the two performing an incredibly moving live set as well as Memorecks killing it on the MPC. We had the pleasure of connecting with Memorecks ahead of the show to touch on a wide array of topics from his early days on YouTube and his beat video evolution, to working with Jenna and turning down advice from Zeds Dead. You can check out the full interview below. We’ve also include two additional must watch videos. The most striking is a clip of their live set that has them performing ‘Collapse.’ The final video is an awesome exploration of collective false memories that includes Shaq, Sinbad and Kazaam. Viibes is back for real. The once regular playlist became a bit of rarity in 2016 but we’re bringing it back on a consistent basis for 17′. If you aren’t up on Viibes, it’s our collection of laid-back, mellow tunes where heavy bass and knocking drums meet ethereal soundscapes. It’s chillin’ out in a hammock on a lazy afternoon or kicking back and zoning out on the late night tip. Deadbeats Drop Debut Compilation Featuring Zeds Dead, Rezz, Pusher, Nebbra + More

Zeds Dead’s Deadbeats imprint just unleashed their first compilation and it’s massive. The 9 track release sees some of the finest musical exports from Toronto and around the globe. Local favourites like REZZ, Pusher, Memorecks and of course Zeds Dead all make appearances while Megalodon, Kid Froopy, Nebbra, SMLE, Blount & Heckz rep the rest of the world. The sounds and styles vary widely giving fans a buffet of musical options that range from dark and pounding (‘Matrix’) to smooth and emotional (‘Raging Dreams,’ & ‘Show Me’) and over to straight filth (‘Women Wine’ & ‘Watch This Bounce’). Possibly the most interesting track on the project is Pusher’s collab with UK vocalist Heckz. The two craft a grime banger that further proves that Pusher can produce heat in any genre.
