Los Angeles based producer Wuki is a true force to be reckoned with. Inspired by the sounds of Detroit ghetto tech and Chicago footwork scenes, Kris Barman has the ability to adapt any genre he experiments with. Whether it be house or even trap music, Wuki’s high energy and track versatility is what brings him into the spotlight. Taking a spin on DJ Snake, Tchami, Malaa and Mercer’s dance floor heater ‘Made In France,’ Wuki has just pumped things up a notch with the release of his high-speed remix.

With the recognized vocals to start the party anywhere around the world, the vocals are hit with distortion and numerous repetitions to launch right into whips of drum claps and slithering instrumentals. Exploding listeners minds with the amount of firepower released in the track, layers of bass and glitches of beaming sounds are firing off. Going even harder than the beginning, Wuki has just delivered a hard-hitting festival banger to prepare you for this summer. If you need a wake up call, I highly recommend this track for you.

Pardon My French, the French House DJ collective fronted by world famous DJ Snake did not disappoint with their first show at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado.

Punjahbae opened the hotly anticipated show amid dark clouds and misty rain. Denver locals, they got things of on the right foot with plenty of bass, tricky mixing, and house funk that got all the early birds dancing. It was nice to get to see Pardon My French reach out to a local artist whose sound is both fun to party to but also pushes boundaries. Their fresh set must be just a taste of what is to come since they released their first mix this past winter- their first in two years.

Next up was Mercer, who threw down a more seasoned set, reflecting his prowess and classic house mixing style. Mercer definitely showed off his flare for more funky, throwback style of electronic music. It was just the right mix to keep the crowd grooving as the sun went down and the chill of a misty evening crept in over the duration of his set. His bolder-bass remix of Daft Punks ‘One More Time’ and florescent pastel visuals especially brought on the house party vibes and got the crowd hyped.

Tchami and Malaa stepped up to the decks next and played an extraordinary set together. They did not strictly stick to tracks that they co-produced but also collaborations that they had each done with other artists. It must have been Tchami who tossed out ‘My Place’ which he created with Brohug and it was a great way to introduce this duo’s passion for more modern house. It was amazing to hear many of their No Redemption EP tracks live and see the excitement come over the fans. The pair also threw out fresher beats throughout their set including ‘Curbi’ by Redeem, ‘Move to the Sound’ by Kitone and Siberian Express, and ‘Right About’ by Bellacour from Malaa’s Illegal Mixtape 2 EP. Their satiating die hard fans dressed in priest collars, nun habits, and balaclavas, which probably peaked some DJ Snake fans’ interest, and they paid homage to Notre Dame with stunning visuals of the church’s rose window stained glass.

Finally, DJ snake took the stage, and lit up the entire venue with powerful trappy tracks and a few of his incredibly successful top 40 hits. This included ‘Lean On’ and his more recent ‘Taki Taki’. He hyped the crowd, called out to the French citizens in the front rows, and laid down track after track of house, filthy trap, and plenty of bass. This performance was impressive as he presented his repertoire of catchy, pop hits and his fervor to push the boundaries of what electronic music is today.

Much of his set was a fluttering back-and-forth between these two poles of the DJ Snake aesthetic. But his flow was impressive as he shifted the crowd from singing along with Selena Gomez to riding the roller-coaster of emotional instrumentals that crashed into industrial metallics of his more futuristic tastes.

As DJ Snake came closer and closer to midnight (which is closing time for this truly unique venue), you could hear the murmurs of the crowd questioning and wondering if the four horsemen of Pardon My French would stand together; and then the moment came!

The entire venue caught a second wave, and jammed out as they played dirty french house beats, hyped the crowd, and overall demonstrated how grateful they were to have dedicated fans and to have the chance to play the world famous Red Rocks Amphitheater.

First and foremost, thank you Red Rocks staff for all your polite professionalism. Every time I am at this venue, the staff always stand out as helpful, kind, and super chill even in dicey situations.

The Colorado edition of the No Redemption tour was one to remember with its funky, electro-house sets, a seasoned party-crowd, and picturesque ambience: an amphitheater cut into the side of a mountain. The lights were powerful and amplified by the drizzly mist that seemed to grow thicker and smokier as the headliners approached. Unlike some of the previous events held at Red Rocks that FUXWITHIT has been able to attend, the stage was stripped down with openers playing at a front and center set up, and the epic, dueling cubes for Tchami and Malaa loomed over, waiting to be climbed.

Opening up the party was Mercer, a French producer, creating Neo House music, and is part of the four DJ’s that make up the collective Pardon My French including DJ Snake, Tchami, and Malaa. If you were lucky enough to make it through the Denver traffic to this opening set, Mercer warmed up the rocky venue with plenty of bass, billowing house synths, and quirky dance beats to get you on your feet.

Justin Martin

Up next was Justin Martin. Hailing from San Francisco, chill vibes eminated off Martin’s drum and bass set. If you have not had the pleasure of checking this interesting artist out, his style is super crisp, futuristic, but bold and bouncy with the bass.

At this point in the show, I was sure that this was going to stay a steady good time. It felt like being at a warehouse party in the mountains. The bass was throbbing, the crowd was on their feet, grooving, and Martin’s melodic remixes where warm, spunky, and fresh. Towards the second half of the set he cooled things off, playing with emotions, sampling saxophones, pianos, and slower rhythms. He picked up it back up at the end, bringing in trance-like dirty treble, crunchy synths, and supple guitar samples.

Just before our headliners, Tchami and Malaa took over their dueling cubes, the crowd was treated to a buffet of genre-bending by K?D. Starting out with heavy, hardcore bass lines, K?D pushed extremes and seemed to jolt the crowd out of Martin’s dream-state. The scattered darkness was tossed aside with a break away pop ballad duet with R&B feels, chased by a dirty drop and sharp synths- like touching your teeth to terracotta.

K?D

This set had something for everyone with plenty of crowd pleasing remixes, and a powerful style of mixing. It was intense, hard but still made room for moments that were simple and sweet, like when he beautifully sampled Björk. No one saw that coming K?D seems to have just skipped down an aisle that has all the best music catalogued from the the last fifty years, and he just skipped down it, touching all the genres that have branched and reconvened in electronic form.

After much funk, Tchami and Malaa finally took the stage, atop their cubes, and rained down fiery, future, French, house music. There was so much drama in there set, from the epic drops, the run through of their fan favorites, and plenty of their edgy, Euro-underground aesthetics.

There were times when it was clear that they were taking turns and playing up on each other’s style, but when they transitioned to a solo stint, their individual flavor oozed from the stage, and engulfed the crowd.

Tchami

Tchami was lighter, more agile with his transitions and sampled plush sounds that were dashed against machine, cold synths. Malaa was methodical, unfurling prowling rhythms and swirling in steel drum clips. The duo ran through their No Redepmtion EP, and the hits including Malaa’s break out ‘Notorious’, plus my favorite ‘PREGNANT’, and Tchami’s ‘Shot Caller’.

Malaa

It may seem far-fetched, but this was honestly one of the dankest shows I have seem at Red Rocks thus far. The energy of the event was amazing, the night was perfect for a get down of the sort, and every artist surprised, and wowed with their unique style and sound.

Red Rocks

Tchami and Malaa will wrap up the No Redemption tour with a sold out show in San Francisco, but there are some murmurs that they may make an appearance at EDC Las Vegas. Here’s hoping.

The French Father of Future House just unleashed a star studded remix EP for his hit single ‘After Life’. The project sees reworks from some of his finest countrymen including DJ Snake, Mercer, Point Point, and the mysterious newcomer Malaa. Aside from the French connection the EP also features Jauz and San Holo. The name power alone grants this a spin and from front to back the music lives up to the hype. Each rework gives the track a unique sound, from San Holo’s and Point Point’s varying future bass approaches to Malaa’s dark and deep house grooves. DJ Snake & Mercer deliver a high energy anthem primed for festival season, while Jauz takes things into uncharted waters with a mind-rattling concoction of screechy synths and smooth house vibes. Stream below and cop the tracks of iTunes.
