MUST DIE!‘s dominance over bass music is unrivaled. With limitless technical abilities and creativity, the Seattle-based producer has remained among the elite for years now, continuously outdoing himself and the rest of the industry time and time again. While there was never any doubt about this, the release of CRISIS VISION last year cemented MUST DIE! as one of the best in the game, showcasing his unique multi-faceted approach to production.

Since the album’s release, MUST DIE! has gone on to remix his own ‘NIHILISM BEGINS AT HOME’ as well as Trampa and Space Laces’ ‘Shank,’ and now the artist returns with another quintessential single to scratch that MUST DIE! itch once more. Released via Never Say Die, ‘ANGELWARE’ further demonstrates that nobody can do it like MUST DIE!. “‘ANGELWARE’ was written on a flight and the entire drop is just one sound stretched and mangled over and over again,” the artist states about his latest – which might be hard to believe given the diversity of textures in the drops. The track is a welcome reminder that innovation in dubstep is not impossible to find, with MUST DIE! unleashing a fresh dosage of ground-shattering bass without forgetting about the impact of an electric introduction. ‘ANGELWARE’ is exhilarating from start to finish. Don’t miss it below.

Never Say Die mainstay and veteran Dr. Ozi has been at the forefront of bass music for almost a decade, continuously pushing his style to new boundaries and recently elevating the artistic vision of his project to the art world. Conversely, Bristol-based Groke has been concocting mind-melting journeys through sound ever since impressing us with his The Dark Deep EP in 2019. While the two artists’ styles don’t necessarily contrast, the thought of a collaboration between these two never really crossed our minds – until today.

With Dr. Ozi set to release the Hive Mind Pt. 2 EP on Friday as a follow-up to the seven intricate tunes from late 2021, we have the extreme pleasure of premiering ‘Long Live’ today, an unlikely yet anthemic collaboration between the two aforementioned artists. The reason a collaboration between the pair seemed unlikely was because Dr. Ozi’s usual sound is loud and aggressive, while Groke often edges towards slower and softer bass cuts. Nonetheless, ‘Long Live’ is a cohesive combination of Dr. Ozi and Groke’s distinct styles.

A simple guitar riff introduces the track before powerful chords take the limelight to build the energy of the piece, leading to a bass-filled section that serves as a nice teaser to the madness that follows. The opening melody returns for a brief moment before the track is flipped on its head once again, with an orchestral backdrop beautifully complementing the heavy foreground. With the third unique drop further demonstrating the harmonious joining of both artists’ sounds, ‘Long Live’ is evidence of Dr. Ozi and Groke’s individual talents, and their undeniable ability to work as a team.

Dr. Ozi’s highly-anticipated comic book is also set to hit the stores soon, so be sure to keep an eye out for that. Until then, don’t miss ‘Long Live’ below.

Way back in 2019, we premiered an Akeos and Nvctve collaboration called ‘Aperture‘ that showcased their respective undeniable talents in creating sinister bass music. Since then, the pair of producers have individually continued to carve their path through the sometimes-rough terrain that is the bass music scene, remaining powerful forces through their technical abilities, genre diversification and steady influx of releases.

With Akeos set to unleash her Flesh Garden EP via Never Say Die tomorrow, we were ecstatic to see a new collaboration with Nvctve included in the mix, as the track first featured in the Akeos 2022 Showcase was among the standouts of the bunch. Each track from the Flesh Garden EP is unique in its own right, ranging from dubstep, to drum and bass, to bassline, but in ‘Desolate’ alongside Nvctve, the pair have opted to concoct a brutal halftime cut, and we are stoked to premiere it today.

Simply put, ‘Desolate’ is a cohesive mixture of both artists’ styles. A faint, blaring alarm opens the track in angst, before those signature, crunchy Nvctve stabs quickly take center stage. Wasting no time getting to the meat of things, the producers use a minimal backdrop to let the lead sounds shine in the drop section, as Akeos then adds her touch of flair to the piece with chaotic synths. As the second half of ‘Desolate’ rolls around, Akeos and Nvctve further push the insanity of the track with contorted basses and electrifying energy.

Don’t miss ‘Desolate’ below and be sure to check out the rest of Flesh Garden tomorrow.

Few topics can unite the wide range of personalities that make up the bass music community. Hating on HitPiece is one of them. Acknowledging the greatness of Space Laces is another. As a legend in the scene who has always delivered top tier material that often blurs the lines between genres, the Louisville-based producer is among the few who can earn the praise from just about every artist in the game. From boundary-pushing ideas to unparalleled execution, Space Laces is on another level.

Over the past three years, the artist has unleashed a series of Vaultage mixes that have showcased the breadth of his talent in the form of unreleased material, with fans itching for the full release of these tracks individually. Over time, ‘D.A.W‘ and ‘Dominate‘ have come to light, giving many hope that the tunes from the mixes were not going to be locked away forever. Now, Space Laces is solidifying that hope with the release of his High Vaultage EP via Never Say Die. Five favourites from the three mixes are out in full today, and these tracks are but further proof of Space Laces’ ingenuity.

Kicking off the High Vaultage EP is ‘Droid,’ a piece from Vaultage 003 that is quirky yet danceable, boasting a house groove that changes in style but not in liveliness throughout the track. The mind-melting ‘Run DLL’ follows, where Space Laces puts on a masterclass of sound design over a sinister but mesmerizing beat. Fan favourite ‘Not Bees’ comes next, which sees Space Laces and Watch deliver another bass house-leaning beast that is sure to get listeners out of their seats. The intensity and raw vigour behind this one is sustained and unmatched. Then, ‘Splinters’ showcases Space Laces’ vivacious take on future bass, proving the artist can attack any genre with ease. Last but not least, ‘Disco Bloodbath’ rounds out the collection in an insanely fun fashion. Despite being over ten years old, the energy and rhythm have undoubtedly withstood the test of time – the ultimate sign of a true tastemaker. A personal favourite from Space Laces’ entire catalogue, I’m not sure what we did to deserve such a special tune.

Don’t miss the High Vaultage EP below.

Stepping into the new year with finesse, Kill Feed carefully constructs bass components in a thought-provoking manner. His latest ‘PAYBACK!’ dissects higher-end frequencies and sounds while tossing them across distinct percussion patterns. In the previous year, we saw his first Never Say Die original ‘Without You‘ in addition to plentiful originals and remixes. Being nearly three years since the birth of his new project, it feels as we have barely begun to witness the capability and potential Kill Feed carries.

Now, Kill Feed returns to Never Say Die with ‘PAYBACK!,’ where he seeks retribution. An unsettling intro surfaces and faces difficulty in dealing with the increased anticipation. While the track steadily molds together it comes to a brief halt before Kill Feed lets loose a pristine new sound. Wicked bass. Pure innovation. Experimental riddim? Dubstep? Whatever title you choose ‘PAYBACK!’ is downright bass excellence.

What else will Kill Feed conjure up in 2022? Explore ‘PAYBACK!’ out via Never Say Die in the meantime to get a glimpse.

There is not much to say about Leotrix that was not said in 2021. Having covered the majority of his releases from that calendar year which spans over an album’s worth of material, everyone should be aware of the jaw-dropping consistency at which the Australian producer releases music, and quality music at that. While one would expect him to take some downtime after such a monumental year, it appears that Leotrix was just getting started. Kicking off 2022 in full force, the talented artist returns to Never Say Die today with the release of his Reload EP, a diverse four-track project that provides the right dosage of versatility and that classic Leotrix sound.

About the project, Leotrix says “‘Reload’ is representative of the visions I have had for the future of dubstep over the last two years. Some of these tracks I have been holding onto since I started them in 2020. There’s something I find really special about all these tracks and I feel like they’ve grown into the sonic atmosphere that is dubstep in 2022.”

In parallel to the full release, we have the extreme pleasure of premiering ‘Reload’ today. The title track of this project is quintessential Leotrix, with the artist luring you in with a shimmering introduction before swooping you away with his gnarly bass flow. Creating a beautiful contrast, the opening is brief yet scintillating, with a vibrant lead and crisp percussion driving the energy. A quick switch bridges the track into the meat of things, as Leotrix peppers listeners with a barrage of contorted bass stabs that get more intense with each passing bar. Falling under the broad umbrella of dubstep but boasting influence from a multitude of genres, ‘Reload’ is uniquely Leotrix. Don’t miss it below.

Over the years, Neonix has steadily risen into one of the driving forces of innovation in the world of dubstep. Since his early works on Savage Society Records and Circus Records, the Dallas-based producer has evolved his sound into something that many want to copy, but that none can come close to. Never Say Die has served as the home to the majority of his most recent projects, namely the Puppets, Lee Jennings and The Lee Jenningser EPs. Continuing along the theme of the latter two aforementioned collections, The Lee Jenningsest EP is due this Friday via the legendary label once again.

An evolution in style, sound and Lee Jennings (yes, it’s both a noun and an adjective), Neonix’s upcoming four-track collection is among his best work to date, boasting an unprecedented versatility that many are sure to love. Today, we have the extreme pleasure of premiering ‘Pornograffiti,’ a standout from The Lee Jenningsest EP. Fans of Neonix know him for his aggressive and rugged approach to production, often melting one’s face with every new release. Throw that out the window before pressing play on ‘Pornograffiti,’ though, as the artist has crafted an incredibly unique piece that flexes a house groove unlike anything we’ve heard from him in the past. Upon pressing play, listeners are thrown for a loop with rhythmic percussion driving the energy into a subtle bass introduction. Gradually, Neonix leads one to the highlight of the track with bubbly fills and eccentric sounds. When the drop hits, the danceability and swing of the piece are amplified to new heights as a simple yet infectious bassline takes center stage. Unleashing further mayhem eighty seconds into the track, Neonix’s dubstep influence comes to light with sharp, menacing synths peppering your ear drums repeatedly.

Neonix’s meticulous attention to detail and his ability to switch things up before they get stagnant are what make ‘Pornograffiti’ one of the best bass house tracks we’ve heard in a long time. Don’t miss it below.

“It’s rare that we receive such a coherent and well-presented project with both strong musical + visual themes. We knew we had to showcase the entire LP rather than focusing on a select few tunes. This will be the first album in Never Say Die’s history from a debut artist.”

Incredibly powerful words from a label that has been in the game for over ten years and whose following is in the seven digits on SoundCloud alone. Balancing releases from established veterans and promising up-and-comers, Never Say Die have remained at the forefront of electronic music since their inception, often branching out to genres beyond the broad dubstep umbrella and welcoming all sorts of bass music creators. Their latest release is a special one, too, as it comes from an artist who, less than four months ago, had nothing to show on his SoundCloud. Based out of Hawaii, kuatari made his impressive debut on the legendary label last week with the LINEPULSE LP, a twelve-track journey meant to be listened to from start to finish without any interruptions.

Albeit incredible, 16-year-old kuatari only had four tracks on his SoundCloud before the release of LINEPULSE, so the announcement of this project has many questioning just how good it could be. Well, it certainly exceeds expectations. LINEPULSE is an exquisite exhibit of both pristine sound design and complex melodies that hint at experience well beyond kuatari’s years. It’s cohesive in sound and in theme, building into an epic expedition across various realms of bass music, often leaning towards dubstep but certainly not being labelled a dubstep project but any means. The mix of orchestral builds up, cutesy breaks, garage-leaning bridges and so much more makes LINEPULSE a soul-encompassing odyssey through a world only kuatari fully understands. Despite being available as separate tracks on Spotify, we highly urge listeners to dive into the SoundCloud album mix to get a full appreciation for LINEPULSE, and for kuatari as an artist.

If kuatari wasn’t on your radar before, he is now. Don’t sleep.

Part-time Twitter comic, full-time innovator.

Effin has quickly become one of the most important producers in the bass scene due to his constant ability to push the sonic envelope forward while simultaneously having his brand on lock. Whether it’s creating a metaphorical sandwich with his song titles, or carving his own sound in the electronic realm, the Nashville-based artist continues to keep fans wanting more through releases on the biggest labels in the game such as Never Say Die, Deadbeats and Monstercat without ever constraining himself to a specific genre.

The latest example of the previous statement is the Distress EP set to release via Never Say Day on Friday. Boasting four tracks ranging in style from trap to bass house to his quintessential dubstep, the Distress EP is cemented proof of Effin’s range. Ahead of the full release, we have the extreme pleasure of premiering ‘N2K,’ a track that, along with ‘Magic,’ might be the most unique piece from Effin’s entire discography.

Leave all expectations for a bass brute at the door before pressing play on ‘N2K.’ Instead of hooking listeners with menacing sound design and mainstage-ready energy, Effin strips back the intensity to deliver a piece from the heart, using a minimal approach to evoke genuine emotions. With a repetitive vocal sample and silky smooth instrumentals, the producer slowly builds ‘N2K’ into a soul-encompassing track, transitioning from house-leaning rhythms to crisp future bass chords in an insanely unique fashion. The outro is sure to send shivers down your spine, too. Don’t miss ‘N2K’ below.

Dr. Ozi has remained a force to be reckoned with in the dubstep scene through his continuous ability to innovate within the genre, balancing the capacity to mesh a signature sound with new, exciting rhythms. The Toronto-based artist has been relatively quiet since the start of the year, evidently working on something big, but the size of what the creative has been working on is much bigger than most imagined.

As Never Say Die‘s Halloween-themed release, Dr. Ozi has unleashed the Hive Mind Pt. 1 EP for all to enjoy. Boasting a sinister theme and seven (yes, seven) new tracks, the project sees Dr. Ozi create a whole new world around his music. From a dedicated introduction to the ensemble in ’50/50′ to six menacing tracks quintessential to his style, Hive Mind Pt. 1 is Dr. Ozi at his finest, showing an evolution in versatility, arrangement and sound design with each track. From the vocal-driven ‘Prayers’ featuring Peytn to the bass-riddled brute with pristine percussion ‘Black Pollen,’ every track offers something different, keeping listeners hooked from start to finish.

And if you thought that was all, the artist has created a comic to go along with the story behind the collection of tracks. Last May, we spoke with Dr. Ozi about what the word host meant to him, but little did we know that the concept would become a full-fledged story. “6 years of story arch, 2 and half years of making songs.” Talk about dedication to your art. Don’t miss Hive Mind Pt. 1 below, and stay tuned for the comic coming soon.
