The young producer Andrew Luce has blessed us with countless impressive remixes in 2014, including ‘Candy Shop’, ‘F.D.B.’ and my personal favorite ‘Birthday Sex’. Ending the year with a bang, Luce has decided to treat fans to a rework of P Reign and Drake’s anthem ‘DNF’. As soon as you press play an inviting loop pulls you in. As we are met with melodic keys, snaps and trap drums the track begin to take shape. The familiar vocals arrive to the party and help build things up before dropping into a mellowed out bass heavy section. The vibe of the track is laid back and hard hitting at the same time. As we near the 4 minute mark it builds once again with a retooled drop that serves as the perfect climax. Stream below and get the free download.

OB O’Brien – Schemin’ Up feat. Drake and P Reign

TOPSZN capo OB O’Brien recruited homeboys Drake and P Reign for this semi new joint. The first Drake verse is originally from a track that he was featured on with Rich Homie Quan with the same beat. This joint however, features new bars from OB and P Reign. With Boi-1da, 40 and Matthew Burnett on the boards, the OVO boys stunt all up and down on the track. No word if this is attached to a solo OB project or possibly a loose track from an OVO compilation mixtape. Listen below.

P Reign – Realest In The City w/ PARTYNEXTDOOR and Meek Mill

The fans want Dear America, don’t let ’em wait. Now that the wait is over and the EP from Toronto’s own P Reign is available – P released his a single for fans to stream for free via SoundCloud. The track is a banger featuring a dope verse and infectious hook from crew-mate PARTYNEXTDOOR. PND’s “TWO” released earlier this summer and is still on heavy rotation in my car. This track feels a little different for a PND feature, but his contribution makes it that much better. P steps up second and raps effortlessly over the beat but the best thing to happen to this song comes in two third’s of the way through. Though Meek is still in jail for being in violation of his probation, hearing a new verse from the Philly rapper is amazing. Meek might not be the most lyrical rapper (though if you assess his previous battle scene joints, the kid can hang with some giants) but his energy on a track is unmatched. P Reign – Where You Been

Dear America. Letting the fans know why he hasn’t blessed American soil, Reign takes to the beat on “Where You Been” to fill us in. This is a dope joint from P Reign, his previous drops have been equally as good but this one seems to have a pretty infectious hook and the beat is undeniable. Coming from G-Way (one of Toronto’s most notorious neighborhoods), Reign doesn’t stray far away from his life as a dealer but he does a good job of shedding some light on how far he’s come, where he’s headed and obviously where he’s been.
