Pardon My French, the French House DJ collective fronted by world famous DJ Snake did not disappoint with their first show at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado.

Punjahbae opened the hotly anticipated show amid dark clouds and misty rain. Denver locals, they got things of on the right foot with plenty of bass, tricky mixing, and house funk that got all the early birds dancing. It was nice to get to see Pardon My French reach out to a local artist whose sound is both fun to party to but also pushes boundaries. Their fresh set must be just a taste of what is to come since they released their first mix this past winter- their first in two years.

Next up was Mercer, who threw down a more seasoned set, reflecting his prowess and classic house mixing style. Mercer definitely showed off his flare for more funky, throwback style of electronic music. It was just the right mix to keep the crowd grooving as the sun went down and the chill of a misty evening crept in over the duration of his set. His bolder-bass remix of Daft Punks ‘One More Time’ and florescent pastel visuals especially brought on the house party vibes and got the crowd hyped.

Tchami and Malaa stepped up to the decks next and played an extraordinary set together. They did not strictly stick to tracks that they co-produced but also collaborations that they had each done with other artists. It must have been Tchami who tossed out ‘My Place’ which he created with Brohug and it was a great way to introduce this duo’s passion for more modern house. It was amazing to hear many of their No Redemption EP tracks live and see the excitement come over the fans. The pair also threw out fresher beats throughout their set including ‘Curbi’ by Redeem, ‘Move to the Sound’ by Kitone and Siberian Express, and ‘Right About’ by Bellacour from Malaa’s Illegal Mixtape 2 EP. Their satiating die hard fans dressed in priest collars, nun habits, and balaclavas, which probably peaked some DJ Snake fans’ interest, and they paid homage to Notre Dame with stunning visuals of the church’s rose window stained glass.

Finally, DJ snake took the stage, and lit up the entire venue with powerful trappy tracks and a few of his incredibly successful top 40 hits. This included ‘Lean On’ and his more recent ‘Taki Taki’. He hyped the crowd, called out to the French citizens in the front rows, and laid down track after track of house, filthy trap, and plenty of bass. This performance was impressive as he presented his repertoire of catchy, pop hits and his fervor to push the boundaries of what electronic music is today.

Much of his set was a fluttering back-and-forth between these two poles of the DJ Snake aesthetic. But his flow was impressive as he shifted the crowd from singing along with Selena Gomez to riding the roller-coaster of emotional instrumentals that crashed into industrial metallics of his more futuristic tastes.

As DJ Snake came closer and closer to midnight (which is closing time for this truly unique venue), you could hear the murmurs of the crowd questioning and wondering if the four horsemen of Pardon My French would stand together; and then the moment came!

The entire venue caught a second wave, and jammed out as they played dirty french house beats, hyped the crowd, and overall demonstrated how grateful they were to have dedicated fans and to have the chance to play the world famous Red Rocks Amphitheater.

Pardon My French is set to put on an exquisite night of French House music at the one and only Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado on April 26th.

Red Rocks amphitheater is a place with both magnificence and majesty. It is a famous venue, naturally occurring perfect acoustics that allow an audience of thousands to see their favorite live performances under a blanket of stars, snuggled on the side of the Rocky Mountains, in sunny Colorado, USA. On April 26th 2019, one of the hottest brands in dance music is coming to Red Rocks: Pardon My French, the French House collective comprised of DJ Snake, Tchami, Malaa, and Mercer.

DJ Snake is at the forefront of electronic music, making hit singles, fire collaborations, and steamy videos with some of pop music’s biggest names. He started getting notoriety in the industry from his work on Lady Gaga’s ‘Born this Way’, which earned him a Grammy nomination, before taking over the underground electronic scene. Fast forward to 2018 when he made it to #1 worldwide on Spotify and YouTube, and #1 on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs Chart with Cardi B, Selena Gomez, and Ozuna for ‘Taki, Taki’. Last year he also launched his own record label Premier Class Records. Some of these artists include Mercer, Grammar, and Saymyname.

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/506128203″ params=”color=#ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true&visual=true” width=”100%” height=”300″ iframe=”true” /]

Tchami also founded his own record label called CONFESSION, releasing music with many artists including Malaa, Mercer, Brohug, and Dustycloud. Some of Tchami’s most recognized releases have been ‘Afterlife,’ ‘Adieu,’ and ‘Promesses’. It is worth mentioning, Malaa and Tchami seem to have a bond sort of like how the metaphorical angel and devil that sit on your shoulder do, and it’s been this way since their acclaimed No Redemption EP and following international tour. FUXWITHIT went to their headlining Red Rocks performance last year and was blown away by their energy, mixing, and production at every level of the performance.

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/305935380″ params=”color=#ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true&visual=true” width=”100%” height=”300″ iframe=”true” /]

If there was a black sheep in this family of Pardon My French, it would be Malaa, Known for wearing a ski mask, smoking cigarettes on stage, and demanding a Jack Daniels’ sponsorship on Instagram, this anonymous DJ released ferocious house tracks ‘Notorious,’ ‘Pregnant,’ ‘Bling Bling’, and ‘Cash Money’ and continues to steadily release mixes on SoundCloud called Who is Malaa?

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/498990264″ params=”color=#ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true&visual=true” width=”100%” height=”300″ iframe=”true” /]

Mercer has produced incredible funky, fresh house tracks, but creates under the genre of NeoDisco. Clearly influenced by the era of music his grew up during, Mercer has shared his modern take on disco and house music. As crisp and crunchy as his bass lines are there is still a smokey flavor of vintage vibes in his tracks. ‘Lunatic’ and ‘Let’s Get ill’ both with DJ Snake, have been millions of streams. He is of the jet set and can be found booking shows all over the world at major clubs and festivals.

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/568523574″ params=”color=#ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true&visual=true” width=”100%” height=”300″ iframe=”true” /]

This show is sure to be unforgettable and will all go down with custom production in front of the pristine back drop of the rolling foot hills of Morrison,CO. Are you ready for the ultimate electronic house music experience to kick off your 2019 festival and concert season?
