Earlier this week we featured a killer dark R&B tune from newcomer Floria that came off the new Pilerats Rat Pack #2 compilation. After having some time to digest the whole project, it proved to be to good not to post the whole thing. The compilation features some of the brightest stars from Australia and worldwide. It’s pretty stellar from front to back, but there are definitely a few standouts. Kicking the project off, one of our favourite producers, Sable, comes through with a slowed down and trapped out rework of 50 cent’s smash ‘In Da Club’. ‘Winifred’ from DYP is an infectious upbeat future R&B track that you’ll be bumping “24/7/365.” Moon Boots’ bouncy house track ‘There’s No Love’ is sure to please, even if you’re not a house head. But one track seems to stand out above them all and that’s Daktyl’s ‘Wonky’. The song effortlessly moves between gorgeous future bass vibes and filthy hard hitting trap. Oh yeah, there’s also some club breaks sprinkled in to make it even more interesting. The only thing that could make this even sweeter is if it was a free download, which it just so happens to be! Meet Floria. A young and talented producer, singer and songwriter hailing from the city of Brisbane in Queensland Australia. As a part of the Pilerats Records compilation album entitled Rat Pack #2, Floria released his new joint ’21’. After the initial play I quickly ran it back and listened again. Soon after, I had heard ’21’ about 5 times. This new joint from the Australia native is a dark R&B song with new age trap like elements. Not only is Floria singing on the track, he also produced the beat himself. The song starts off with loud in-your-face drums combined with smooth introductory singing. When the beat drops, his confident lyrics champion the songs’ vibe to life. This track is reminiscent of some of the new and dark R&B we’ve been hearing for the last 3 to 4 years however, Floria’s does a great job of using his production to separate his sound from the bunch.
