After admiring his work for some time now, we’re stoked to finally have Raucous here for a special guest mix and interview with us! For years, he’s been releasing some of the best and hardest electronic music within the underground. Stopping at nothing to achieve his goals and aspirations within this industry. From releases with Partica Artist Group, Interval Audio, Dumb Collective, and more, his techniques will absolutely blow any audience away. This is truly long overdue, and as we said before, we’re very excited for everyone to experience this mix!

His stellar sound design can punch craters into the earth while his rhythmic structures can turn any dull scene into a frenzy. We highly recommend diving into his discography. You won’t regret it. Each tune is packed full of ear candy you can discover with every listen. Always integrating new sounds and even harder drums. Within the interview, we’ll dive deeper into his past and learn much more about what makes him the artist he is today. So buckle up, because this is going to be quite the ride!

First off, thanks so much for taking the time for this interview with us! How’re you doing?

I am doing phenomenal & thank you guys for having me! This has been on my list of goals for a while now, so I’m very excited for it all. Coming across that Jon Casey mix years ago was my introduction to FUXWITHIT.

This mix is stacked with all new music from myself. They can expect new originals, remixes, and a couple collabs.

What can listeners expect when diving into this exciting new mix?

This mix is stacked with all new music from myself. They can expect new originals, remixes, and a couple collabs. Very excited for the Chase Atlantic remix with my friend Kotrax and a new original featuring Lucyimhome. She did an incredible job with the vocals.

You’ve been making music for some time now! When did you first discover your passion for creating the arts? Any specific moment in time?

So the story is… I started DJing first and worked my way into playing local shows. I eventually met two people that were doing pretty well in the scene, and they told me that if I ever wanted to make a name for myself, I should produce music as well. So, I took that advice and never looked back. I started my journey with 0 background or experience with music. It took about a year for it to really stick and for me to gain confidence in it but it became something I love more than anything.

When I got my first stereo system, I would listen to the local hiphop and R&B channel on the radio in my room all that time and that definitely plays a part in my music today. Shout out Wild 96.3.

What types of music were you growing up with in your household? Do those artists or styles inspire your current works today?

My parents really liked country music, but it never resonated with me. Growing up, they took my brothers and I to concerts like Shania Twain. When I got my first stereo system, I would listen to the local hip-hop and R&B channel on the radio in my room all the time, and that definitely plays a part in my music today. Shout out Wild 96.3.

I knew I wanted to change my name and eventually landed with Raucous. The word basically means a loud, obnoxious sound and it felt fitting for the music I was trying to make at the time. Now here we are years later, still making loud bass music.

Where did the name Raucous originate? Any story behind the alias?

When I first started DJing, I was a part of a duo, and we went by the name Smash Bros. After some time, we went different directions in life & I continued with DJing and making music. I knew I wanted to change my name and eventually landed with Raucous. The word basically means a loud, obnoxious sound and it felt fitting for the music I was trying to make at the time. Now here we are years later, still making loud bass music.

Your style has always had its own essence and presence within the underground. What draws you to the heavier style of electronic music? Where do you see that scene going in the next few years?

I think it’s the energy of it all that I am really drawn to. It definitely has molded its own place in the electronic scene, and I hope one day it emerges into the spotlight. Music is constantly evolving so I can see it becoming more popular. Especially as more producers tap into it.

I’ve always wanted to travel around and play shows so I’ve been pushing to get myself out there more, work with more people, create a lot of new music, the whole grind.

From releases on Partica Artist Group and SUS COLLECTIVE, to dropping some very impressive singles/remixes, what do you wish to accomplish for your project in the future?

Man “???” & “Candy” are still some of my favorites. Shout out Partica & SUS. I’ve always wanted to travel around and play shows so I’ve been pushing to get myself out there more, work with more people, create a lot of new music, the whole grind. So that’s at the top of my goals now, to be able to travel around the US and share what I love doing the most with people.

If you could visit and perform anywhere in the world right now, where would you go and why?

First place that comes to mind is Half Pipe Records in Paris. They brought together two of my favorite things, music & skateboarding. I’ve been skating since I was a kid. Playing a show with people shredding behind me… that would be absolutely nuts. They have been killing it with their shows lately.

Not many people know this but about 2 years ago now, I won first place in a Royal Caribbean cruise table tennis tournament. Certified Royal Caribbean gold medalist.

Outside of the music realm, what are some of your favorite hobbies or things to do to escape the world sometimes?

About 5 years ago, I really got into fitness, so lifting is something I very much enjoy doing. That, skateboarding, table tennis, simply sitting outside in the sun, always a good way for me to relax and reset outside of music. Not many people know this, but about 2 years ago now, I won first place in a Royal Caribbean cruise table tennis tournament. Certified Royal Caribbean gold medalist.

Do you have any incredible talent on your radar at the moment? If so, who should everyone keep an eye out for?

The first person that comes to mind is .NET RUN. Super underrated and incredibly talented producer. He has a pretty distinct sound with his production, versatile, and overall just solid music. Check him out for sure if you’re not familiar already. Port London as well. I think they are a trio but I can see them blowing up as they put out more music.

Thanks again for your time. We’ve admired your work for some time now. Any last words to our readers and listeners out there?

Thank you guys so much again for this! It’s been an absolute pleasure & I very much appreciate the support throughout the years. I appreciate everyone’s support on my music, and I hope that when you listen to this mix, you get a feel for my passion and what I love creating. Thank you guys again, and everyone who took the time to read! Enjoy the mix!

Always paying back their supporters and music as a whole, Above & Below continue to change the game. With each one of their releases, they recruit some of the most unique musicians in the underground. Each having their own taste and style within the spectrum. Creating hit after hit. If you haven’t been keeping up to date with the label recently, they helped out heavy-hitter, wasteurself in releasing his newest single, ‘Gimme.’ A track containing some mind-bending sounds and parts. So in honor of this celebration, wasteurself also dropped a brand new and high-quality sample pack with the label called, Wasted Series 001.

Producers, this is your chance to get your hands on some gorgeous and everlasting samples. Each one to beef up your productions by 100. The label even plans to continue to drop packs with their artists in future releases. Which is such a grand and smart idea. It really gets their supporters and the community overall involved. For only $20, you’ll be receiving drums, percussion, Serum patches and much more! A wonderful deal for anyone wanting to find something new to incorporate in their works. But if you’re not too sure yet, check out the demo from nonother than Raucous. He created a heavy and addicting piece using the sample pack’s qualities to its’ highest degree. Ending in a fire aftershock! So go ahead and support everyone by checking out wasteruself’s new track, sample pack and Raucous’s demo! You won’t be disappointed in the slightest. Only inspired to keep working hard.
