While REZI and Ankou have both been on our radars for the last couple of years, a collaboration between the two is never something that crossed our minds. Both artists boast a diverse discography, but REZI’s tends more towards experimental dubstep while Ankou often gravitates towards halftime. Sometimes the best collaborations are the most unexpected ones, though, and the merging of both styles in REZI and Ankou’s newest track titled ‘Black Hole’ is all the proof one needs.

The first single from REZI’s upcoming Adventus EP via MorFlo Records, ‘Black Hole’ spans well over five minutes and shines a light on the strengths of both producers. The artists use an old school sample to drive a sinister tone in the introduction, before unleashing a barrage of bass that’s consistently abrasive but never unpleasant. The first drop of ‘Black Hole’ is the section that’s likely to be played out in clubs and at festivals, however it’s the second half of the track that really makes it a standout tune. At the two-minute mark, the producers change the soundscape behind the same voice that introduced the piece to create a more introspective, thought-provoking aura. Leaning towards more towards textures than bass, REZI and Ankou demonstrate their ability to weave uplifting melodies into the initially-heavy tune, attesting to their aforementioned versatility.

Don’t miss ‘Black Hole’ below and be sure to check our REZI’s Adventus EP on September 16th.

With an ear for sound, Alek Slon who is commonly referred to as REZI has proven that dreams really do come true even from a young age. After being inspired by his mother who also has a passion for electronic music, REZI’s innovative production is a sign of his dedication to his art since the age of 13. With a massively good response to his jaw-dropping releases such as his collaboration on ‘The Movement’ with Notixx, REZI proved he can blast through the bass scene and only continue to rise through his unbelievable attention to sound design. Connecting with his listeners on a more personal level, REZI is slowing things down a notch with his new single ‘Cry For You.’

With a soothing vocal to accompany the dark clouds slowly closing in over the sky, REZI displays his world of pure darkness and distortion right to his listeners’ ear drums. With high-pitched instrumentals hitting like tidal waves, a filthy synth obliviously takes full control of all minds in REZI’s possession. Without warning, an explosion of bass rumbles through the track infused with rattling claps as REZI continues to make his mark in the bass scene. If there is one thing we know for sure, this is only a taste of what is to come from this Buffalo based producer.

Buffalo based boys Ryan Sinatra and Alek Slon, or Notixx and REZI respectively, have been keeping people gyrating at the atomic level for years now, harnessing pristine levels of production and exceptional flow. Combining hip-hop elements with the best parts of bass music and dubstep, they’ve found a style that will get even the most defiant of feet stomping the ground with malicious intent. Today, we’ve had the great pleasure of premiering their latest collaboration ‘The Movement’ off of Notixx’s second part of his double EP release, the latest being his Infinity EP.

‘The Movement’ has a tremendous probability of ensnaring you in a trance-like state, as you’ll be instantly drawn in by the underlying wubs and the delicious melody. Pair these elements with the vocals of “roll to the rhythm, the music you’ve been given, the music is the movement this is how we’ve come to live it” and you’ve got yourself a soundscape eliciting only the highest of possible highs. The first drop is very bass-heavy, but with a medium level of energy so the dreamstate can fully set in before you’re whisked away into madness. The vocals loop, build, then descend into an absolutely ludicrous dubstep drop to close out this ear buffet. The first half of the song lulls you into submission, and then the latter half smacks so hard even Mike Tyson would cringe at the ferocity.

If Notixx’s Wormhole EP wasn’t enough to tide you over for the holiday season, fear not because the Infinity EP is bursting at the seams with heat. ‘The Movement’ is just one piece of that fantastic puzzle, with the rest being equal parts amazing as well. Make sure to get sufficient rinses of both bodies of work, but for now, check out ‘The Movement’ for yourself below!
