PREMIERE: Silva Completely Re-imagines UZ’s ‘Leave It’

2019 is set to be Silva‘s year. Fresh off his incredible original ‘Unforgotten,’ the Perth based producer returns with a stunning official remix of UZ’s ‘Leave It.’ If the original version was back alleys, blunts and baseball bats, Silva’s rendition is a lush sun-filled meadow with birds soaring majestically through.

Rome Fortune’s gritty raps are a big part of what drew Silva to remixing the track. “The original really caught my attention, particularly the vocals. I knew I could take a real different take with the vocals – I really love how aggressive they are, they gave me ideas straight away,” he expands. Silva channels that agression and counterbalances it with a backdrop that’s approachable, upbeat and lovely. “Listening to it I wouldn’t think I’d be capable of combining these two elements together, but in the production process I started the track with a simple chord progression and just let it keep growing to what it is now. Super happy with the outcome,” says Silva. He’s not the only one super happy with how this turned out. One listen and I’m sure you will be too.

The track comes off UZ’s The Rebirth (Remixes) which is out today on Quality Goods Records.

George Maple and What So Not are no stranger to collaborating. Maple appeared on the title track of the Gemini EP while What So Not co-produced Maple’s recent single ‘Sticks and Horses’. The two are back together again, pulling in Rome Fortune for ‘Buried’. A track which is as emotive as it is enthralling. From George Maple’s hauntingly stunning vocals to Fortune’s anxiety inducing flow, this one takes you on a ride. The climax packs a high intensity drop with deep bass and snapping drums while layers of vocals collide to add a further dimension of emotion. Check the track and striking visual below.

Promnite’s Rome Fortune Remix Will Definitely Make You ‘Dance’

Athletixx’s own Promnite is back again taking on Rome Fortune’s ‘Dance’. The track is an interesting balance of upbeat melodies, auto-tuned vocals and wonky as fuck bass lines. It’s a hybrid of deep house, club and a touch trap. The track has a catchy pop-friendly feel that is juxtaposed with some stellar production and progression. I look forward to hearing this rock at the club and doing just what the vocals ensue. Stream below.

Rome Fortune x OG Maco – Pearls

Rising Atlanta rappers Rome Fortune and OG Maco collide once again for a 9 track EP, simply titled Yep. Although both are equally as odd, the two bring completely different musical elements to the record. Rome’s distant lyrical romanticism and Maco’s loud exclamations combine with progressive production to complete the unique sound.
