Run The Jewels ‘RTJ4’ Is Just What We Need Right Now

Run The Jewels’ RTJ4 has arrived early! In a statement with the release the duo said, “Fuck it, why wait. The world is infested with bullshit so here’s something raw to listen to while you deal with it all. We hope it brings you some joy. Stay safe and hopeful out there.” The project is a soundtrack to the times. It’s agressive, in-your-face, political, offensive and intelligent. It’s exactly what the world needs right now.

The 11 song effort features 2 Chainz, Greg Nice, DJ Premier, Pharrell Wiliams, Zack de le Rocha, Gangsta Boo, Mavis Staples and Josh Homme. The project is available for free download but they are encouraging donations to the National Lawyers Guild Mass Defense Fund. The Mass Defense Committee (MDC) is a network of lawyers, legal workers and law students providing legal support for political activists, protesters and movements for social change.

Flosstradamus Just Dropped a Free Remix of Run The Jewels’ ‘Oh My Darling’

Flosstradamus is back! Closing the year out with a bang comes a ridiculously hard-hitting remix of Run The Jewels’ ‘Oh My Darling.’ The flip pulls no punches opening with the looped EL-P vocals “Fuck em all, they can eat my dick, that’s word to Pimp.” The production matches the intensity coming through with that hard trap shit that Flosstradamus built their name on. It breaks down bringing EL-P back in before diving into another high-energy drop, this time with touches of future influence. The track closes out with yet another tweaked drop that’s built upon vocals loops and a screaming synth that almost feels middle eastern. Expect this to crush festivals and stages at the top of 2018. Flosstradamus – Soundclash EP

Flosstradamus have been blowing up the internet and building antipation for their brand new Soundclash EP all year. With the TroyBoi co-produced title track destroying sets everywhere and new releases ‘MFU’ and ‘Prison Riot’ killing it, it was pretty easy to predict the EP would be fire. The new unheard tracks include ‘Wavy’ with NYMZ, ‘BYB’ with Rick Remedy and ‘Don’t Trip’ with Sizzy Rocket and Run The Jewels. It may seem a bit heavy on appearances but the overall sound is cohesive without being repetitive. Run the Jewels x Jeremiah Jae – Job Well Done

Less than two weeks since the release of Run the Jewels 2, Jeremiah Jae drops his remix of ‘Job Well Done’, a cut from RTJ1. Flipping the production to mimic a classic early 90s east coast jam, the verses from El and Mike are kept original and pushed out and above the beat. Jae also highlights his own lyrical qualities by slipping a verse in between El-P’s and the chorus. This is a quality remix of a track by the currant most discussed collaboration in rap. Considering his switch-hitting vocal/production chops, I guarantee we will be hearing more music from Jeremiah Jae, soon.
