Stööki Sound and Remixers Try Something New with ‘Echoes’

Just when you thought you knew Stööki Sound, they prove you wrong and produce a tune that’s completely unprecedented.

Veering away from their bass-heavy vibes, the iconic duo, with the aid of Latroit and Lliam Taylor, go for more of a dreamy, lullaby-like tone, which will leave you more soothed than hyped for a night of turning up. Following their recent release alongside Troyboi for ‘Warrior‘, word got around that Stööki is going to be working on a series of collabs throughout the year – yet this isn’t what we were expecting. Nevertheless, it just goes to show that the duo are truly forward-thinking tastemakers as we’ve come to know them as. Check out the original below, which happens to be their first release on Dim Mak Records.

Alongside the original comes a slew of remixes to help create a party-ready package! Plastician drops a remix that cranks up the bassline and really makes you feel like you’ve gotta drop it low to properly embrace it. Sam F brings about a tropical twist to the song, whereas R3LL unleases a jersey club bouncer which features some choice breaks. Lliam Taylor and Stööki Sound each deliver their own VIP remixes to the track, with the former sporting a deep house groover, and the latter taking it back to their roots as an homage to fans of their original style. We first caught wind of Sam F from his stellar collabs with FUXWITHIT favourites NIGHTOWLS (see ‘Sus’ & ‘Nap In The Club’). Today Sam F connects with another LA duo in Yntendo for ‘Vegas to LA’. From the jump this one pulls you in. There’s something about the housey melody and the way the vocals are delivered that instantly make you think, “I’m bout this”. Two of LA’s hottest up-and-comers, NIGHTOWLS and Sam F, linked up for a massive house anthem in ‘Nap In The Club,’ just a few months back. Building off the success of the tune, they’ve connected once again for a track that instantly tops their previous effort. ‘Sus’ mixes a bouncy house feel with catchy vocals (“better not trust these suspect woes”) and some sinister bass. The lyrics are simple, fun and sure to be stuck on your head, while the forward-thinking sound design really makes this one standout. The last time NIGHTOWLS connected with Sam F they brought us the after hours anthem ‘Nap In The Club’. Continuing in the fun yet viscous vibe comes their latest collab, a rework of Lil Dicky’s ‘Lemme Freak’. As Dicky seduces listeners with pizza, a little bit of weed and the features of his fridge, the beat creates an air of anticipation. Looped vocals give way to the dark and disgusting drops we’ve come to love.
