1 2 3 4. Hamdi is here and yes we are screaming for more. As the visionary artist establishes his dominance in the music industry, all eyes and ears are on Hamdi as he continues to make his mark. After recently making his way to Japan for his debut tour, Hamdi blessed the sold-out crowd in Tokyo with a series of unreleased music including his ‘Counting’ EP remixes featuring none other than Sammy Virji, Taiki Nulight, Simula, and P-Money. The energy was out of this world, the venue was jam-packed with mosh pits being induced and those trap arms were out in full force. What more can we say when Hamdi has set the bar to the highest when it comes down to his live shows and immaculate production style. Whether it be dubstep, UKG, and grime, Hamdi has proven he can master any genre he puts his heart and mind into and we are all here for it.

Digging deeper into his official remixes of ‘Counting,’ Hamdi has called upon true icons in the music industry to take a stab at the original, and let us tell you they did not disappoint. Taiki Nulight’s pulsating slow-tempo madness sets the tone as wonky instrumentals and eerie soundscapes quickly take over. While Sammy Virji’s remix elevates the energy for the dance floor to induce all those boiler room vibes we need in our lives. Next up, Simula brings the heat with distorted elements and commanding drum and bass signatures. Ending off the EP with a P-Money vocal dub, the remix offers a fresh perspective to get you jumping up no matter what time of the day it is.

While Hamdi takes full control of the dancefloors during his Asia tour, he has also teased his unreleased Skrillex collaboration at Circus Tokyo which can be seen here.

Now now, looks like we have one of the anthems of the coming summer here, don’t we? I know it may seem bold from me to predict that a garage track will become everyone’s soundtrack but hey, you don’t need to be familiar with the genre to appreciate this single. Good music is good music, end of discussion.

This new track by Sammy Virji is a little masterpiece that speaks a universal language and despite the fact that I’m a couple of days late, I had to dedicate its space here on FUXWITHIT in view of the damage it will do in the forthcoming months. To give you some context if you’re not familiar with the movement, just know that the Oxford/Leeds producer is a mainstay in the UKG scene and he’s the mind behind many outstanding tunes like ‘Find My Way Home‘, ‘Shapes (Oh Will)‘ and ‘Whippet‘ to not mention his spectacular debut album Spice Up My Life.

For ‘Alright,’ he returns once again with his winning receipt, but this time accompanied by no other than his sister, Lucy Virji, on the vocals. I don’t know if it’s because it’s a family matter, but the chemistry here is immaculate! The way the instrumental goes along so well with the voice line is a pleasure for the eardrum. It flows smooth and sweet like fruit juice. Energizing and refreshing like a cold beer on a hot August afternoon. By playing with his sister’s voice, cutting it and pitching it without mercy, Sammy Virji enriches the track with a vivacity and dynamism that fits perfectly with the stomping pace of the track, the packed groove and the bubbling bassline. If you already have barbecues, pool parties or house raves planned, this track will be a must in your tracklists.

‘Alright’ anticipates a full EP titled We’ll Be Alright, coming out on the 28th of May! You can stream the single below and presave or preorder the EP here.

It’s a shame garage and bassline don’t get the love they deserve in North America. Aside from a handful of artists and labels such as AC Slater’s Night Bass, not many are pushing to bring the lively and fun sound overseas. Despite this lack of growth in our home territory, the genre is thriving in the United Kingdom, and Sammy Virji is among the leaders of this new age.

Since jumping into the scene a few years back, Sammy Virji has seen a quick rise through the ranks as a result of his consistently unique and energizing take on production, earning him a Rinse FM residency as well as several other impressive accolades. And, with the release of his debut album, Spice Up My Life, Sammy Virji really solidifies himself as one of the best in the game.

In the thirteen-track endeavour, Sammy is able to remain true to his sound without it ever growing stale. Spice Up My Life is a consistent outpour of garage and bassline, oozing with vivacity and groove that is immediately apparent upon pressing play. The project’s title track will hook listeners in, instilling a sense of curiosity with Paige Eliza’s poignant vocals before having you wanting to dance the night away. This innate danceability is never lost in the hour-long piece, as Sammy Virji somehow manages to keep the rhythm cohesive and refreshing. It is truly impossible to pick a favourite track, as each hits differently in its own right, so we highly recommend you dive in below and listen to Spice Up My Life from front to back.
