With the EP being derived from the AI’s perspective, Rohaan pairs mechanical meets organic sounds throughout. ‘People Don’t Think’ is the most stripped down sound on the project but that minimal approach speaks volumes. The space between beats adds a level of intensity, punching every sound up a couple notches. The pounding drums and high pitched vocal bends command you to move your body in a hypnotic, almost possessed state. Each element works to rewire your brain and command you to move to the pattern the AI desires. Don’t think, just let the audio interface take control.

To be honest, I admit that, until yesterday, my pick would have been one and only one: the infamous THX intro.

But, you know, things change and, today this iconic sample is dethroned by the LA boy that we all know as LITLBIRD. ‘Gasp’ released on Sound Museum is not just the pinnacle of the upcoming EXHIBITION compilation but also of an entire genre. ‘Gasp’ is a hymn, a panegyric to bass music, a movement from a dystopian electronic requiem that celebrates the death of the pop’s triviality. It’s not your average trap or wave track. It’s something that steps aside from our daily listening routine (at least mine) and sets up a stunning, unparalleled, show apart.

With scientific stubbornness, the Portuguese musician squeezes out the very best from his talent, handing out fleshes of genius in every single track. They are pieces of the same puzzle, branches of the same tree that share a common starting point. After ‘Distortion’ and its absolute mental wobbling bassline, you will madly love ‘Overdrive’s hypnotic structure. You won’t get bored of getting wasted by the scathing drop in ‘Bit Crush’ and you will still go crazy over ‘Fuzz’ and ‘Saturate’s astonishing sound designs, which are on a full X&G and Noisia level. Concluding the journey with the title track, the fun continues with the two remixes by the courtesy of Vorso and Shield, that respectively carry on the madness deconstructing the sound with approaches  way beyond the average human imagination.
