Excision, Seven Lions, and Wooli Reach New Heights With ‘Another Me

The king of dubstep has arguably had one of the best years in his career to date. Starting with his massive remix compilation of Apex, that’s packed with remixes from the A-listers in bass music. Jeff Abel, also known as Excision, is known for reinventing what dubstep can sound like, and this time he teamed up with two other producers from different corners of the bass music scene. Excision joins forces with Seven Loins and Wooli to create this super emotional, bass-filled banger. Both stemming from opposite coasts, Seven Lions from California is notorious for blending elements of pop, trance, and dubstep to create melodic masterpieces, whereas the New York native, Wooli, is notable for hard-hitting dubstep tracks. In addition to an all-star production lineup, the vocals for ‘Another Me’ are supplied by the legendary vocalist Dylan Matthew.

From the get go, Dylan Matthew’s powerful voice injects passion and energy before numerous elements of the song get involved. After a short verse and a build up, the emotion from the vocals is met with a powerful lead section filled with melodic synths and subs while also maintaining the emotion and theme of the intro section. From here, the vocals are reintroduced quickly before we are lead into a classic grimy dubstep switch up. Following this section, Dylan Matthew gives us another verse, this time showing us his impressive range and moblility. Finally, all three producers’ styles converge during the last lead section of the track, where it feels as if the track has reached maturity. Definitely don’t miss this one!

LICK Shares Versatile Rendition Of Seven Lions’ ‘Lose Myself’

Back in 2015, Seven Lions and vocalist Lynn Gunn released ‘Lose Myself’ through Casablanca Records. This track created an unmatched euphoria and would be played out heavily in the years that followed. Since the release of the electro-house banger, many have shared their take on the track, and now fans are treated to a fresh version from the LA-based LICK. Hot off his DIMENSIONS EP on Deadbeats, the talented producer is showing no signs of slowing down with his most versatile work to date.

Playing on the powerful vocals and soft melody of the original, LICK shakes us into a drop highlighted by his dark, unique sounds. It isn’t too often that a new artist can consistently maintain their sound through tracks originating from genres so far from those the artist is accustomed to, yet LICK continues to do so with every release. Moving forward to the second drop, the skilled artist shows a new side to his abilities by transporting the electro favorite into a rapturous bop, straddling effortlessly between melodic dubstep and future bass. LICK’s wrap on the track is poignant and we can’t help but assume this break of pattern is LICK’s way of hinting diversity in his music to come. Seven Lions The Journey Tour + Ticket Giveaway

Seven Lions is currently in the midst of his massive North American Journey Tour. Kicked off in October, his Journey has taken him from Vancouver to Seattle, Los Angeles to Las Vegas. But it’s only just begun, with the Journey continuing from now until early December with notable stops including Detroit, Buffalo, Toronto, Montreal, New York, Philadelphia, Atlanta and more (full list of cities and dates below). Joining in the journey are Pegboard Nerds, Unlike Pluto and Grum. Making the tour even more impactful comes the announcement that Seven Lions has teamed up with FCancer to donate $1 from every ticket sold to the organization who focuses on early detection, prevention and providing support to those affected by cancer.
