Shivaji Makes Triumphant Return With ‘Villain’

Sydney Australia’s Shivaji first caught our ear a few years back with massive tracks like ‘Make Moves’ and ‘Torch.’ While he remained quiet for the bulk of 2018 we are excited to announce he’s back in full force with the release of ‘Villian’. The track builds upon the signature sound we’ve come to love with an engrossing and epic build that sets the stage perfectly. The opening is grande and inviting with a hint of uncertain energy. As the opening hits its apex, we’re smashed with a raw vocal and dropped into a slapping trap section. Deep dinosaur-inspired growls propel the track while evoking powerful feelings of fear, power, and awe. The kicks cut through the beat like a freshly sharpened knife, glimmering off the underlying synths. The violent energy relinquishes itself in favor of the orchestral sound that we enjoyed in the intro to close things out. Stream ‘Villain’ below.

Shivaji’s ‘Torch’ Is Quite A Journey

Australian producer Shivaji continues to impress with his latest release ‘Torch.’ The track’s opening feels like a lazy afternoon out in the ocean; swimming about as the sun’s rays warm your skin. The feeling is fleeting as an undertow of darkness slips in and something from the depths begins pulling you down. Before you know what hits you, you’re in the depths of the ocean surrounded by darkness battling an unknown enemy. As your chest pounds, waves of adrenaline override fear for a feeling that’s quite enthralling. As you break loose from the grips the surface seems reachable, but as you drift up you’re knocked over by another crashing wave of darkness. Spiraling, you find yourself in a flooded catacomb ripe with danger. It’s another rush on intensity before the darkness is eventually overcome as rays of light come streaming from above. The struggle seems distant while you make your way to the surface, pulling air from a sun filled cave with a picturesque opening. You can’t help but smile as the beauty surrounds you. PREMIERE: Shivaji Makes Moves With Stellar New Single

Australia is a hotbed for talented electronic producers. From Flume to What So Not, Slumberjack to Wave Racer, the list goes on. The latest producer to catch our ear from down under is Sydney based Shivaji. After making waves with ‘Sway’ he’s generated a strong buzz, most notably off ‘Take It’. Today we have the pleasure of premiering his latest and what may be his best work to date. ‘Make Moves’ is a deceivingly forward-thinking banger. Opening up with jazzy brass, Shivaji presents us with a sound that’s reminiscent of a low key hip-hop record. As time drifts by it becomes clear that there is something a little more sinister creeping under the surface. As his vocal tag drops, we’re smashed with a relentless assault of filth. Insane sounds design and snapping drums collide for an epic drop. The track breaks down and drift toward the jazzy undertones of the intro before Shivaji brings it back once more with abusive bass.
