‘Spicy’ is a headfirst dive into a kiddie pool filled with ghost chilis, a stunt only your best friends would dare you to pull off on impulse. Just as the chilis turn you temporarily into a fire breathing dragon, this song’s sound waves elicit a hard right turn on the room’s thermostat, with frequencies so scalding they’ll have you putting on your best “O” face. After you get slapped by the initial wubs in this track the vocals “yeah we keep it hot and spicy, whatcha gonna do about it?” come in, right before the gloves come off and you’re assaulted with absolutely monstrous basslines. Well, what will you do next after unleashing this sonic behemoth? Probably search for the closest thing to bring you a short recess of comfort before you find yourself smashing the replay button because it just hurts so good. “Large” is much too weak of a descriptor for the low end of this track, with “gargantuan” being much more suitable. ‘Spicy’ is one of those tracks that you really need to crank the volume up to the max to get the full feeling of the piece, as a proper rinsing will surely leave you unconsciously mouthing “oof”.

Much like how videogames stow away Easter eggs to make you come back for more, this track is deeper than the Marianas Trench, practically forcing your brain into a state of ADD as it tries to focus on the individual sounds while still keeping the entirety at the forefront of your mind. It’s like an arcade claw game for your ears; you see something you dig and want to snatch it so you focus on solely that piece, but once you grab it the longer you hold on the more it slips away. The sounds are all mixed exceedingly well, with vocals gracefully floating in and out, adding little accentuations before being extended over the second drop adding a pleasurable waviness. If you ever wanted to know what it would feel like to be possessed to do gun fingers to bassy wubs, the last drop is right up your alley, as it culminates the almost four minute long musical journey.

Fans of deep, bass-heavy goodness should definitely put this in their “to listen to” playlists, as I have a feeling it will be receiving heaps of frequent flyer miles from surfing extensive amounts of airwaves. If you can’t hear that ping, it’s your radar confirming OLD GREGG and shwiLLY, where they should remain for a long time to come.
