SLANDER have been everywhere recently. Along with wicked collaborations with the likes of Seven Lions, Crankdat and Asking Alexandria, and more recently with RIOT on ‘You Don’t Even Know Me’ and with Spag Heddy on ‘Running To You’, the LA-based duo have launched their Gud Vibrations label with NGHTMRE and have embarked on the massive The Headbangers Ball North American tour. Juggling touring, managing a label and putting out quality music can’t be easy, but SLANDER have shown that they are among the best at doing so.

Today, the versatile duo are back with the third and final track from their The Headbangers Ball EP titled ‘Hate Being Alone’. The track is a collaborative effort with Dylan Matthew, with whom SLANDER have teamed up twice in the past. Closing out the aptly-named project, ‘Hate Being Alone’ sees the duo combining Dylan Matthew’s poignant vocals with raw, unadulterated energy. Seamlessly transitioning from euphoric vocals to bass madness has always been one of Slander’s strong suits, and this is on full display in their latest.

Check out ‘Hate Being Alone’ and the full The Headbangers Ball EP below!

LA’s bass-heavy duo SLANDER is back at it again – teaming up with Texan trio WAVEDASH – for a hard-hitting dubstep beast, which brings together both old-school and new-wave dubstep sounds. This particular team-up came about thanks to WAVEDASH’s sounds being similar to that of SLANDER’s back in the day, more specifically during their collaborative times with fellow LA producer…

LA’s bass-heavy duo SLANDER is back at it again – teaming up with Texan trio WAVEDASH – for a hard-hitting dubstep beast, which brings together both old-school and new-wave dubstep sounds.

This particular team-up came about thanks to WAVEDASH’s sounds being similar to that of SLANDER’s back in the day, more specifically during their collaborative times with fellow LA producer NGHTMRE, from a few years back. ‘Move Back’ builds the supsense from the start, and continues to do so right until its riddim-esque drop, which carries elements of a more traditional dubstep sound. It’s near the end, not too long after the second drop, that the tune starts to hit the brakes, before glitching out into a downtempo synthwave-inspired outro. During this, it maintains a hard bassline to keep the intensity consistent through to the end, accompanied by some underlaying piano tones for a soft close after the mayhem.

Check out ‘Move Back’ below, and let it become one of your banger anthems for the warmer times just around the corner! This one’s also available for download in its first 24 hours – so waste no time and get your free copy while you can!

The Safe In Sound Festival, which is more like a traveling freak show of bass music’s hottest right now, kicked off its first show in Houston, TX on September 15th, with its the final show scheduled in Berkley, CA on November 26th. An impressive list of cities will receive these vagabonds including New York, Seattle, and Kansas City. The Safe In Sound festival is geared up for its fourth year of bringing bass-music to the thirsty masses.

Now it might seem odd to some that the festival is on tour, but this is an older model of doing the deed. Back in the 90’s before Lollapolooza was based in Chicago, they were on tour and would have a string of performances in one day, in one city only, before moving on to the next. This gives the feel that each event is its own mini-modern day festival.

The major act in this sideshow is Borgore, who appears to be coming in hot for most dates on the tour. Also booked to throw down some rumbles are Slander, NGHTMRE, Ookay, ZOMBOY, Snailz, DirtyPhonics, Trampa, Terravita – just to name a few. See if these goons are coming to a city near you and who else will be joining them at the Safe In Sound Festival website.

Yours truly, will be attending the September 29th performance in Buffalo, NY. Stay tuned for my two cents.

Earlier this year Boombox Cartel blew me away with their incredible release ‘B2U’. Ian Everson’s sultry vocals paired perfectly with the future bass sounds and the trapped out switch up was just incredible. Since then, I’ve been keeping my eye out for future releases from the LA based duo. This brings us to their remix of NGHTMRE & Slander’s ‘Warning’. The dreamy sunset inspired soundscape that opens the track is soon forgetton as listeners are given a “warning”. A nice touch, but I assure even if you’re forewarned, there’s no way you’ll be prepared for this. A countdown helps build anticipation for a drop that is guaranteed to leave your mind blown. The duo bring back the smooth and dreamy sound once again, only to hit listeners with a retooled drop to put the nail in the coffin. Boombox Cartel murdered this one. Stream below.
