The vision of Good Society never fails to impress. Its soul essence completely vibrates the underground with its purpose and beautiful execution. From the wonderful team pushing these artists’ sounds to a new height, to the artists themselves creating mind-blowing pieces to honor their journey, they’ve created an honorable and memorable effect that’ll last for many years. And with their newest compilation, Good Society Volume 4, they’ve recruited some of the best within the electronic spectrum to highlight their talents and skills. If you’ve been following the label for some time now, you’ll instantly know you’re in for a treat.

The Good Society compilation series is one I have and will always put the entirety of the brand behind. For this one, we’ve booked out a Catalina Island Ferry in LA County for a two stage bonanza out at sea to create a big splash when it comes to its live debut! This one featuring Maddy O’Neal, sumthin sumthin, Dennett, rSun, & more.” – Josh Yamini (Founder of Good Society)

These artists knocked it out of the park to say the least! And what a roster! From a bass-infused wonderland from sumthin sumthin and ero808, a hypnotic and glitchy masterpiece from Dennett, to a fun and energetic playground of rhythm from Dabow, the range is truly immaculate from each tune. Highlighting their characteristics in a unique and powerful form. It’s a list of pure chaos that will melt down any dance floor around the world. The pacing throughout each track is organic, satisfying, and a breath of fresh air. Leaving listeners feeling inspired and hyped up to hear more. Bravo to each and every musician that’s a part of this. Everyone gave it their all and it paid off beautifully. So make sure to show your support by streaming Good Society Volume 4 everywhere!

Over the past two years, one of our favorite trends in dance music is the reemergence of Drum & Bass in North America. Although if you’ve been paying attention, you definitely already know we’re massive DnB fans. One of our favorite artists we’ve supported throughout this time is the bay-are duo Slang Dogs. With a truly unique sound that perfectly walks the line between left-field bass music and Drum & Bass, with each release tending to lean one way or the other. Since the duo’s inception, they’ve released one of the biggest labels in bass music, Bassrush. If Slang Dogs’ recent release ‘Ephinany’ is any foreshadowing, you better get familiar with the name, cause they’re here to stay.

As with any Slang Dogs masterpiece, the atmosphere and tone are set right out of the gate with these eerie ambient synths joined by the calls of what sounds like distant animals. Soon after the lead is teased right before being throw into a quick build. Immediately following this we’re thrown into the beautiful chaos of the drop section, spearheaded by a lead that can truly only be described as an alien growl. The percussion elements through the record are perfectly varied, while also being accompanied by some interesting sounds that’ll pierce your ears in the breaks. Do yourself a favor, and listen to the whole thing down below.

They call it, The Prophecy: Volume 4. And with great success and attention to their other chapters, the label continues to impress and amaze the audience with mind-bending new musicians to take the spotlight. From hard-hitting arrangements, to jaw-dropping sound design, these artists are not to be messed with within the spectrum.

Straight out of the Bay Area, Slang Dogs have recently been making waves in the underground bass scene. Already boasting an impressive genre-sweeping discography, these two have become known for pushing the boundaries of the genre by combining elements of trap, dubstep, DnB, and hip-hop to create their unique experimental sound. Recently, the pair dropped a three-song DnB record that further proves their versatility, in case you had any doubts. This time the duo takes us back to their experimental freeform ways, with their abrasive and wavy single ‘Wendigo’.

To start, we’re thrown into a world full of terrifying ambient synths accompanied by these spacey drums. After a quick build-up, we’re met with these huge dynamic oscillating synths that go from a low monstrous growl to a huge high-end switch up that perfectly takes advantage of the natural contrast. After yet another ominous breakdown and build-up section, we’re thrown back into the madness of the first drop with a welcomed variation of arrangement. Check out the full track down below!

Straight out of the Bay Area, Slang Dogs have been blazing their own path within the Bass scene for the past two years. In an era where a lot of bass music can come off as stale, these two innovators have found ways to push the boundaries of the genre. Over time, we’ve seen these two dive into almost every sub-genre in the bass realm, including their bass house EP Etain. Recently, these two trailblazers dropped off a treat with their hybrid trap banger ‘Euthanizee’, and this time Slang Dogs return to the realm of DnB with their aggressive bass-heavy EP Sacrament.

We start with ‘Follow’, a perfect thematic entrance for this project. Beginning with a long theatrical intro full of tribal drum patterns, ominous chords, and spectral vocal samples, the two then proceed to turn up the energy in a hectic sixteen bar build up perfectly bridging the gap from intro to drop. As we’re thrown into the drop, we’re surrounded by manic drums that seem to never stay still and a glitchy synth playing a screeching melody. Moving on, we have ‘Altar’ which begins with the pitter-patter of the lighter percussion elements driving the rhythm throughout the intro, accompanied by an ominous low pitch vocal. After the drums build-up, we’re launched into a frantic machine-gun-like drop carried by this pounding synth and some impressive percussion patterns. Finishing off the EP we have ‘Demise’, a track that offers up these impressive sweeping subs in the intro that buildup the energy nicely. In comparison to the other two tracks in the project, this one relies on the steller drums within the drop to carry the energy of the track, with deep synths periodically peaking through the mix. Check out the whole project down below!
