The track is laced with complimentary natural and synthetic sounds, irresistibly swanky rhythm, and outright forbidden frequencies.

The single marks the first sneak peak of his highly anticipated Captive EP set to be released on 10/15, and an engrossing progression in the weird world of organic, sub-shaking low end scores. Best experienced at high volume, low temperature, and with a spare pair of pants.

The unsung heroes of West coast bass music return with yet another lethal weapon. ‘Sunk’ draws from the best of both of the LA-based artist’s techniques, leveraging state of the art sound design and ample sub bass to summon an absolute trunk shaker. Minimalistic yet powerful, the track carries the weight of a main-stage festival anthem with the reverberations of a small-cap basement show.

‘Sunk’ is another installation in a handful of collaborative tunes from the two Good Nature Collective founders. Birthed in the early days of snuffy‘s recent move to Los Angeles when he visited bd hbt at his spot, the song illustrates the hazardous potential the two have when they team up and amplifies the sounds of the West coast bass scene. Get your stank face ready, peep the banger below and grab the free download.

It immaculately balances insanely catchy rap vocals with belligerent synth patches, wiping the floor with your expectations. The song is sure to be a secret weapon in DJ sets to come and a testament to the uniquely complimentary styles of the powerhouses behind it. Word on the street is that snuffy & jordnmoody have some more unreleased heaters in the vault so keep your eyes peeled for additional collaborations from them.

Here to bless our ears with a violent dose of industrial strength sub bass and cataclysmic IDs, Andre Kouchekey (AKA Snuffy) has assembled a potent display of his current style. The Bay Area raised mastermind has been honing his craft for the past few years from the hills of San Luis Obispo to the depths of Chico California, weaving all kinds of ludicrous sounds into his beats. As one of the forefathers of Good Nature Collective, the 24 year old has been shaking things up for the west coast bass music scene as he continues to push the next wave of wubs forward. Following a string of consistently turbulent releases on collectives such as Don’t Die At Work, Jadū Dala, Hybrid Trap, and [SUS] COLLECTIVE and teaming up with the dons Milano, Adiidas, leet, bd hbt and more, it’s evident that the man is just getting started.

Snuffy takes us on a voyage through the signature Good Nature sound in this exclusive guest mix, showcasing just a sample of his stacks of unreleased music waiting to be unleashed. Keep your eyes peeled for a swarm of dangerously spicy collaborations and originals coming from this powerhouse. We also caught up with Snuffy for a quick interview where discussed his favorite samples, collaborations, goals and more.

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/705042718″ params=”color=#ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true&visual=true” width=”100%” height=”300″ iframe=”true” /]

What’s been making you smile recently?
My cat, she’s been a real good girl lately.

Favorite animal sound you’ve ever sampled?
A pig squealing, possibly the hardest I’ve ever laughed working on a part of a song.

You’ve had a ton of collaborations over the years. What’s your favorite part about working with various artists?
I think working with others is where most of my growth comes artistically and technically. So probably just learning new things/better ways to do things.

How did Good Nature come to be?
We were a group of party DJs in San Luis Obispo, California [Milan, bd hbt (Sam Delgado), myself, and only child (Duncan)]. One day while Milan and I were getting jiggy at the burn we discussed the idea of working all together and started drafting names on the spot. We eventually settled on Good Nature and never really looked back, everyone supported it.

I think the best part of bass music culture are the people that make up the community.

What’s the best part about west coast bass culture?
I think the best part of bass music culture are the people that make up the community. So much love, and I can seriously say its led me to meet some of the most beautiful people in the world.

What other genres have you been bumping recently?
I’ve been bumping a lot of rap, techno/house, and very recently more DnB!

You’ve always had your finger on the pulse of bass music trends. Who are some of your favorite slept-on artists that need to be on our radar?
Shucks thanks <3. To list a few: CAMBOT, Brío, L*o*J, no doz, gloom., LYNY, Edekit.

You’ve had a ton of gigs the past couple years. What was the coolest set you’ve ever played?
That’s super hard honestly, every show is such a unique experience. Either emissions festival this year, or nightlife savings last year. Oh shit or stoke the world because we just had so many members of Good Nature there to share music.

…one thing I hate is how political it is, and how hard it is to find a decent paying job lmao.

What’s one thing you love and one thing you hate about the music industry?
One thing I love about the music industry is that you meet a lot of cool people, but one thing I hate is how political it is, and how hard it is to find a decent paying job lmao.

What are your goals for Good Nature & Snuffy?
I have recently been planning shows in northern California for locals and Good Nature artists to showcase their music, but also trying to plan Good Nature showcases all up and down California in the next few months. Snuffy has transformed quite a bit over the passed year, and I only intend on making more music as I finish school here in December and move to southern California.

Any releases we can look forward to?
Yes, most definitely! I have a big yojas. collab coming soon, as well as a cool remix of ‘Moontoys’ by L*o*J. I got a collab coming out with no doz, and a few more with my cousin rymani so stay tuned <3 <3 <3.

Anything else you’d like to share with us?
Huge shoutout to Tony Castillo for pushing me to make a mix, and shoutout FUXWITHIT and all the homies who sent me music for this

Any fan of eclectic, varied bass music will have noticed a recent surge of quality tracks boasting an [INQ015] tag in recent weeks. First came AiDO‘s bouncy yet gritty ‘Primera L’una,’ which was followed by solid outings from Turo, brandroid and CallMe. Then, bd hbt x LAF‘s guttural ‘Drought’ shook us to our core before we had the honour of introducing Shy Melon to the world earlier last week. Today, we are ecstatic to premiere the full Inquiry: Distorted compilation which features three additional tracks from heavy-hitters snuffy, Saka, and Psymatik & Keerd.

We also had the opportunity to catch up with Inquiry Collective co-founder Sam Leggett, aka Shy Melon, to discuss the origins and goals of the project. “Though we began meeting before this, I think Inquiry Collective really materialized after our first desert gathering that we called New Moon (this party eventually became named Curiosity) in September of 2016. I had been living in a musical household with many of our founders and went to a party called Moontribe. It was so inspiring to see how powerful a well-cultivated community of musical weirdos can be, and we felt that we should formalize our musically-driven friend group with a name and a party. Inquiry is about curious, participatory people coming together to share art and celebrate our community. We have always been about our community (a community that began with a manually-built email list of friends) and representing the musical underground in all of its eccentricities, regardless of the genre. We’ve had parties with house, techno, breakbeat and drum and bass all played at the same club event. It doesn’t matter to us as long as it is a sincere expression of the musician’s artistry and lends itself to our community’s underground musical taste.

Los Angeles-based, bd hbt maintains an exceptional talent for integrating atypical rhythmic tempos and insistent percussion ensembles in the bass-infused flavor, with iconic solo releases such as ‘Conflict’ and ‘Jungle Cake’, which thoroughly depict the immeasurable depth and dexterity of his style.

Demonstrating a similar preference toward the uncanny, Bay Area-native and founder of Good Nature Sounds, snuffy demonstrates an unmatched capacity for composing merciless sub-clad drops and combining beat breaks and tempo switch-ups that give his style an unparalleled atmosphere of depth.

‘Asparagoose’ furnishes an appendage to a long-running synergistic relationship that stems back nearly 3 years, when the two promising producers initially connected for a four-track expedition at a point of infancy within their careers. Revisiting the collaboration in a modern arena presents an exhilarating opportunity for each to further unveil the time and diligence that has gone into perfecting their respective crafts.

An eerily cantered harmony paints a foreboding introduction for the track. The pace of the snares hastens, a warning siren sounds hauntingly in the distance as a piercing riser heaves the track into a relentless cascade of low-resonating subs that waver fluctuate abruptly, breaking cleanly into a tactful mixdown, while colossal heaves of bass permeate the entire background.

An absolute delight to see two old friends working together yet again, ‘Asparagoose’ is woven with a complexity of layers like a burlap sack, and provides an authentic depiction of the progression of bd hbt & snuffy’s styles. Be sure to check out the latest track below!

Little known producer REBRTH fuses sounds with rising artist Snuffy in their track “Lean Back”. Focusing on creating a song with minimal layers, as opposed to the modern-day complexity, it helps to bring out their wobbly rhythm. “Lean Back” combines the trap 808s of REBRTH with the ever-growing experimental sounds of Snuffy to create the perfect flow. It starts with properly weighted bass and steady snares, bringing in a whistle sound to maintain the tempo. The low bpm element unifies a heavy pluck bringing in the second drop to keep your ears alert and your head bobbing. You don’t have to dance to this, just lean back.

Reaching nearly 25,000 total plays since its release just before Christmas last year, snuffy’s ‘Kitty Litter’ has been met with nothing short of open arms and welcoming ears. “I took a clip out of an old biggie song and was messing around with one short clip and ran with it from there. I was also really hoping to push new sounds and find a style that would suit the snuffy project,” LA-based Andre Koucheckey reveals about the creative process behind the original track.

While the track was initially birthed as a pseudo-exploration to test the waters for a refined style, the emphasis on production, riveting percussion, and the unmistakable Biggie sample have provided a framework for snuffy to identify key areas that were well received to expand upon in future releases.

“I feel like the snuffy project has come a long way with many different influences. The entire project has transformed over the past year, as has my style, workflow, and knowledge of making music. So I would consider it a sense of finding my roots through all of this new information and sound to bring people a new and improved style,” Koucheckey shares regarding revisiting one of his trademark tunes.

The ‘Kitty Litter VIP’ presents an opportunity for snuffy to demonstrate the product of countless hours meticulously fine-tuning production coupled with a ceaseless desire to improve. While the latest rendition weaves bits and pieces of the original track, it also largely presents a brief taste of what is yet to come for snuffy in the start of the New Year.

“Since the release of the OG ‘Kitty Litter’, I have nearly completed music school, worked with so many amazing producers, and dedicated so much of my time to better myself as a musician. My style and image of how I wanted snuffy to sound had completely shifted in a years time. Hopefully bringing everyone this kitty litter vip can represent all of my growth as an artist, while re-grounding myself into the same ideas I had for this project when i started it 2 years ago.”
