Deep within the underground, lies a label which specializes in Contemporary bass music. A movement so impactful, it’ll leave you speechless and inspired. A project called Sound Museum. Now, if you haven’t heard of the label before, we highly suggest checking out their roster of mind-bending artists. Musicians who step into the unknown, waiting to share their unique pieces. Heavy-hitters such as OOTW, Dj Ride, Rohaan and more have all traveled into their realm. Releasing unexplainable classics. And now, Sound Museum has taken it further by releasing their 6 track compilation called V.A. – Artifacts 02.

If you love unique bass music, this is definitely for you. This time, they’re bringing in artists such as Mew Zu, L*o*J, Kid Kun and more. Each of them brings their own flavor of production to the genre. Honoring and pushing it further. From haunting bass leads, to intense atmospheres, this group of tracks will make any electronic music lover go crazy. The spacious arrangements take the listener on an adventure through space and time with subtle and unique surprises waiting around every corner.

Sherbrooke, Canada-native SUBstance is no stranger to the dark, deep periphery of experimental bass music. Working tactfully with a variety of low-end frequencies, SUBstance has grown infamous for establishing a tangible bass presence that permeates the deepest crevices of the brain.

SUBstance’s latest release via Sound Museum ‘Manufacture’ dips well below the audible surface, establishing an oddly rhythmic cadence with jagged plunges of textured bass, acute vocal sampling, and precipitous digital fills.

PREMIERE: LITLBIRD’s ‘Gasp’ Is Stunning & Unparalleled

Imagine yourself inside St. Peter’s Cathedral. The closing hour for public has now passed. While everything is wrapped in semi-darkness, you can still catch a glimpse of the grandiose colonnade, the giant transept and the immense dome. The masterpieces born from the legendary hands of Michelangelo, Raphael and Giotto are your only companions and the silence is absolute. An aux is plugged into your phone and you have to chance to play one single song from your library at full volume in this scenario. What do you do?

To be honest, I admit that, until yesterday, my pick would have been one and only one: the infamous THX intro.

But, you know, things change and, today this iconic sample is dethroned by the LA boy that we all know as LITLBIRD. ‘Gasp’ released on Sound Museum is not just the pinnacle of the upcoming EXHIBITION compilation but also of an entire genre. ‘Gasp’ is a hymn, a panegyric to bass music, a movement from a dystopian electronic requiem that celebrates the death of the pop’s triviality. It’s not your average trap or wave track. It’s something that steps aside from our daily listening routine (at least mine) and sets up a stunning, unparalleled, show apart.
