TroyBoi and icekream are a dynamic duo. Their SoundSnobz project has delivered countless gems including ‘CTRL,’ ‘The Gift’ and ‘Goldfinger’. Today they’re back with another one, switching things up and getting Housey with it. ‘Hear Dat’ blends classic sounding, sweet, female vocals with pitched male loops for the perfect contrast. Troyboi & icekream reconnect as Soundsnobz for ‘CTRL’

It’s been a little while since the dynamic duo of TroyBoi and icekream connected for a fresh Soundsnobz release. Thankfully for fans the snobz are back with a new record for Elysian. ‘CTRL’ is a lowkey trap heater that picks up right where they left off. Let’s get Wonky! TroyBoi is back with another one and you already know it’s a banger. ‘Wonky’ features a dark and ominous intro that opens up to wild synths and heavy bass. The addition of vocal chants add an exotic dimension to the tune. The output from TroyBoi never ceases to amaze me. Adding to this further, he also dropped a new SoundSnobz track today. icekream – Hits & Pics (OKAY!!!)

Undoubtedly one of the most catchy tracks of Gambino’s debut Camp is ‘Fire Fly’. The summery production and sing along chorus made it a favourite among early Bino fans. It seems icekream is a fan as he has opted to put his own spin on the tune. The rework has a hazy yet upbeat feel and the vocal chops and effects give it a fresh vibe. Ice also slots in some Kendrick Lamar samples that are book ended by the track’s “Okay, Okay”. Bump this on repeat and grab the free download.

A bass heavy rework of a James Bond classic? Why not right? ‘Goldfinger’ is the first single off the upcoming collaborative EP from TroyBoi & icekream. The track is influenced by the 60’s James Bond theme but is anything but dated. From the vocal loops to the banging bass and stunning yet subtle keys in the break, it’s everything we’ve come to love from the SoundSnobz. Celebrating the one year anniversary of their collaborative effort SoundSnobz, TroyBoi and icekream present fans with ‘The Gift’. The laid back intro fits the sunset artwork perfectly. The feeling is short lived as we are hit with bass that’s Wonkier than the top hat wearing chocolatier. Things mellow in the middle before getting absolutely bonkers once again. Chopped and pitched vocals are placed throughout giving the track a bit more heart. Stream and free download below.

Icekream – The Transporter – Free Download

Icekream (1/2 of SoundSnobz) just dropped a gritty twerk tune entitled ‘The Transporter’. The track heavily samples a section of Curren$y’s verse on Talib Kweli’s – Push Thru, “Hopping out of Audi’s/I’m the Transporter”. With that said, it sounds nothing like Push Thru. Icekream chops the vocals perfectly layering them over some crazy banging bass and perfectly placed drums. The track also contains samples from the Transporter movie which adds to excitement. All-in-all this is a great track that is also available for free download. Stream and download embedded below.
